Rogers wirelss sucks

Ok i got a cell phone on sep 2006 i knew it was on a 3 year contract my mistake, i got my cellphone stolen on  oct 2007 i went to the rogers store and told them about it, and they told me you had it for a year so you can get an update i was alright i had to pay 100 and something in the store, i got a bill the next month of 370 dollars that included the phone they replaced and the calls i made, i call them and they couldnt do anything for me.. and yesterday sep 08 2008 i went to the rogers store AGAIN to ask them when does my contract end because i wanted to cancel it, i was thinking ok i have one year to go i dont think i have to pay that much to cancell it , when they told me my contract ends on oct 2010 i was like what the [***] is this you know . the only answer i got from them was everytime u get an update u renew your contract for another 3 years. [***] asswholes didnt told me that when i got my cellphone stolen. so people now u know rogers doesnt give a [***] about you, they only care about taking your money.

    Don't know about Canada, but in the U.S., a number of telecoms have recently either lost class action suits or settled on claims they were unfairly collecting "early termination" fees, often resulting from hidden "contract renewals" or extensions.

    You might check with whatever Canadian agency regulates wireless telecoms.

    All the major cell phone companies do this.  When you're within a few months of your contract end date or if your phone is stolen so you replace it, they restart your 1-yr or 2-yr contract.  They really push "upgrading" your phone, and NEVER tell you that your contract is restarted.  My mom got taken in by this (thanks Verizon).  My friend too (Nextel) and another friend (Sprint).  I bet soemone has a great A T + T story to make all the major players guilty.
