I BOUGHT A  CHATEAU D'AX DOUBLE RECLINER SOFA  ,  WAS TOLD IT WAS MADE IN ITALY OR CHINA  AND  I TOLD THE SALESLADY  I DID NOT WANT ONE MADE IN CHINA, THEN SHE SAID OH I THINK THEY ARE MADE IN ITALY.  I TRAVELED 500 MILES TO PICK UP AT THEIR WEARHOUSE AND GOT HOME AND UNPACKED THE SOFA, AND TAGS ALL OVER IT SAYING  MADE IN CHINA  AND IT DOES NOT EVEN FEEL OR LOOK LIKE THE ONE IN THE MACYS STORE I SAT ON FOR A LONG TIME.  AND IT DOES NOT HAVE ONE TAG SAYING IT IS A  CHATEAU D'AX SOFA, AND THE COMPANY IS AN ITALIAN COMPANY SO WHY WOULD THE SOFA BE MADE IN CHINA ?????  I THOUGHT ITALIAN SOFAS WERE MADE IN ITALY.   AND I DEFINITELY TOLD THE SALESLADY I DID NOT WANT ANYTHING MADE IN CHINA......

I was just ay Macy's Furniture Gallery, Ca. My son and I were amazed at the great price on a Chateau/dax sofa and recliner $1198 great price, never heard of this line. Smells like leather, not top of the line leather, but leather looks really nice and clean. I asked the saleslady about this Manufacture. She said they have been around for twenty years. I checked out there web-site, 60 years in business and Italian made furniture. Checked out Macy's website on their furniture none listed with that name. I have read all your reviews 95% bad ones and not sure I want to make this purchase. I checked out the tag at the bottom of recliner says Milano made in China. There is no collection name or style number on product. I have heard of Klausner, Century, Universal, Schnadig, Bernhardt etc. Are band names better $$$$ for your buck.

Thanks for all your information, I just looked at a sectional sofa and was very interested in purchasing it.  After looking at all the negative comments, I think I'll keep looking.  I am also looking for high quality furniture especially if I'm paying a lot of money.

These are cheap sofas ,  the construction is what is important and it is crap.  However, the price is right and your getting what you pay for.  A good leather sofa would be alot more than these prices.
And that warranty,  just try to make a claim on it.  there not worth the paper they are printed on.....

I have no dogs and my Chateau D’Aux leather pieces did loose the shine in one year, in 2 there was no color on were we sit and where you would touch the sofa))))). And the funny think is that we do no sit. We work all day. I went there to complain and I kept getting the run around. No one would help. Call this number, go this person, go to Macys where you got it from. Very disappointing customer service.

    I LOVE Chateau d' Ax! In 2006 I bought from Macy's,an
espresso color sofa & loveseat and a lipstick red sofa & loveseat. Both are beautiful and high-end looking! I get compliments on them all the time. I do have sheers on my
windows to protect them from direct sunlight(very important)
Best thing I ever did was buy these sofas! They all get moderate, daily wear, and wiped down thoroughly every week.
The leather is very thick and lush and natural, not dyed,
    looking. Love 'em!

I bought a white leather sofa in October 2009. 4 months later the color was turning brown at the places we where sitting on. After to complain about it, the answer from Chateau dax was... no warranty on this kind of compain, it must be from our clothes or pillows!!!! We never sit down there with jeans or things like that. I think...very bat service

american leather makes a nice product, natuzzi farms out  a lot of their manufacturing to china , and if you compare the pieces side by side AL will be more expensive, of course in the long run it will be a far greater investment.

    vice versa
Do you have the ID number, model number and colour number for your vice versa?  I'm trying to fill out the warranty card, but my husband threw away the dust cover (with the label with the info i need).  Sales receipt has a bunch of numbers, but not sure what's what. thanks!

how is this for valid points:

    1) china is the largest pollutor in the world
    2) china is a communist government that is one of the largest perpetrators of human rights violations in the world.
    3) china has repeatedly dumped poisoned products (ie - baby formula and toothpaste) onto unknowing consumers worldwide, resulting in hundreds of deaths. remember???
    4) china is the singl largest market in the world of slave labor (child labor, wages of $3 a day for 14 hour days)
    5) china has, as government policy, required that families that produce too many female childeren abort and kill thems
    6) china has been systematically building up their military arsenal
    7) china has knowingly lied to the world without conscience about such silly things as the age of their olympic gymnasts. what do you think they would do for something really serious??

shall i continue? hurray for china...woohoo. simple...dont buy chinese. it wont be fun working for them. just a guess, but pretty sure they dont tolerate unions...lol

You should go back to the store, I am sure they would help resolve your issues. My experience with Macy's has always been positive. Maybe you got the wrong couch by mistake. That would be the first thing to do instead of venting on the internet.

Stephan, your comments are right on. I don't understand all of the "green movement" folks that claim to care for the earth, then without conscience buy products and never consider where they are coming from. I was in Seaworld last week and was lectured repeatedly in every show about our obligation to protecting the planet, then go into their shops and find all sorts of meaningless junk that will end up in the landfill, made in China, all for them to turn a profit. Wake up people...pay attention. If you want to make a difference, stop buying "stuff" becuase you "want" it, stop buying Chinese products and be wary of those who lecture you on your obligation to the planet.

I just received delivery on a six piece sectional by this company.  The phamplet that came with the pieces suggests their furniture is made in Italy and it has a large photo of their factory.  I've seen nothing that tells me it was made anywhere other than Italy.  The pieces seem to be of very high quality.  Perhaps the company contracts with Chinese companies to make a lesser quality to be sold by certain stores in the U. S.  Just guessing.

Had I gone into this website prior to purchasing I might have investigated further before deciding to buy.  Luckily, the store from where I purchased my furniture has a 60 day return period, no questions asked, with a full refund.

Make it here , Buy it here and Keep it here! We did just fine until someone got the idea it could be made cheaper overseas. That’s when our politicos came up with the term globalization. Since then our food has been poisoned killing our pets and children.
This government pushes Globalization as our manufacturing base continues to disappear then re-appear offshore. Thousands of American companies have vanished and with them the jobs. This government supports giving American jobs to Foreigners see  H1-B Visa program.

Keep buying those foreign cars Toyota is the leading car manufacturer in the U.S.. Well you says they are made here so that's good for the economy. Just a little insight for you most of the money they make goes back to their own country, There recent string of recalls are finally waking Americans up.

Your country is being sold out from beneath your feet. The biggest investors in American real estate are Asian countries. You have a president that will not provide his birth certificate so we don't know if he's eligible to hold the highest office in our country. He says America is not a christen nation. He is for building a mosque at ground zero. He believes in giving war criminals local trials.

This government has chosen to override the will of the people. It has chose not to enforce our laws. It has chosen to sue states on states issues. It is responsible for causing the deaths of many Americans. It chooses to apologize for our past history to many countries who do not like us and for our fallen hero's who fought for our freedom. . It chose to bailout failing companies with our tax payer dollar's against the wishes of the majority of Americans and it says buy our insurance or be jailed or fined.
