I BOUGHT A  CHATEAU D'AX DOUBLE RECLINER SOFA  ,  WAS TOLD IT WAS MADE IN ITALY OR CHINA  AND  I TOLD THE SALESLADY  I DID NOT WANT ONE MADE IN CHINA, THEN SHE SAID OH I THINK THEY ARE MADE IN ITALY.  I TRAVELED 500 MILES TO PICK UP AT THEIR WEARHOUSE AND GOT HOME AND UNPACKED THE SOFA, AND TAGS ALL OVER IT SAYING  MADE IN CHINA  AND IT DOES NOT EVEN FEEL OR LOOK LIKE THE ONE IN THE MACYS STORE I SAT ON FOR A LONG TIME.  AND IT DOES NOT HAVE ONE TAG SAYING IT IS A  CHATEAU D'AX SOFA, AND THE COMPANY IS AN ITALIAN COMPANY SO WHY WOULD THE SOFA BE MADE IN CHINA ?????  I THOUGHT ITALIAN SOFAS WERE MADE IN ITALY.   AND I DEFINITELY TOLD THE SALESLADY I DID NOT WANT ANYTHING MADE IN CHINA......

Just got my Chateau d'Ax living room set from COZY Furniture in Brooklyn NY.
Amazing quality leather and very comfy.
If you are looking for a fine Italian living room production, Chateau d'Ax is the best choice , much better than the Natuzzi one I had before. I ordered it in grade 4 which is beautiful brown leather.
Can't go wrong with them. I shopped a few places for this product and the quality of leather they offer is medium to low grade so i figured to order it from a local boutique store .
    Got exactly what I wanted.
Thanks Guys you are great .

We purchased two sofas, an ottoman and a side chair of Chateuax D'Ax from Macys 5 years ago and paid almost $3000 for the set. The middle cushion on both sofas is splitting and looks awful. It's coming apart in tiny little pieces. The leather is thin and cheap. I am also noticing splitting on the ottoman and chair. What a piece of junk ! We're embarrassed to have people at our house and just had someone come over to look at making a cover for it. What a disappointment !! DO NOT BUY THIS FURNITURE !!!!!

Just fort your information or should I say, "education". Over 70% of all furniture manufacti=ured in the world comes out of China. I have been in the retail, interior design and decorating and product development, design and sourcing for over 15 years now, so kind of now how it is done and done right. Due to falling economies over the past few years, it was decided that due to high production costs in Europe, that European companies woulod set up their own manufacturing plants in China itself. The items are still designed in Europe by top designers, leathers are still ordered from Argentina where somke of the best hides are sourced in the world and the production of these items takes place in China. Due to lower export duties being charged and manufaturing costs being substantially cheaper, products are thus able to "hold" their relevant pricing costs without YOU the consumer having to pay exhorbitant prices for the same product, so to clarify, yes it is Italian, it is designed in Italy, manufactured by Italian's in a factory, in China and by the same Italian company. Don't be misled, these Euro / Chinese Companies have the strictest quality control policies in place and have the highest quality manufacturing production and assembly systems. You are better off buying these products due these stingent controls. Everybody from Bella Italia, Ligne Rose all have manufacturing plants there.

I purchased a Chateau d'Ax sofa from Rich's-Macy's in April '04. I have been very happy with the product.  It has taken a good deal of abuse from my animals so isn't in the best shape but still very comfortable.

i ship furniture for all the high end furniture companies, and guess where most of it comes from- China.  the leather comes from Brazil or Italy for the sofa's so you can't even tell the difference, except for the tag that says made in china.  everyone complains about products made in china but most people aren't willing to pay 40% more for domestically made products.  therefore unless you are willing to pay 40% more for domestically made products, then don't complain and just find made in the usa, and buy it.  Walmart is by far the largest importer from china in the usa, and i don't see their shoppers demanding made in the usa at 40% additional cost.

I recently looked at bean bag chairs at the request of our son who would love one. Wal Mart ( of course ) had a good selection, however every one of the $ 42.00 bean bag chairs had a large red warning label which stated CAUTION : the contents ofthis chair are highlycarcinogenic and known to cause cancer .
Why are they allowedtosell these, and even more important hy would anyone with a hald an ounce ofbrains even touch it, let alone take it home ?
We tried to ask the store manager that question but Wal Mart ( of course ) had no manager or supervisor available to talk to us and the department clerk said that " no one we know of has died yet ".
    Great News .
Remember when we used to be able to buy American !!
Does that make me sound old , it doesn't seem that long ago.

I bought a Claudia Craig sectional years ago, and it has held up pretty well. Funny thing is, when I sit on it for any length of time, I have an unusual hankering for a big plate of moo goo gai pan.

I am Claudia Craig, as least one of the Claudia Craigs in America, and am wondering how many people other than a "Claudia Craig" are posting on here. I was told about this site and looked it up and seen "my" name.  I did not post on here, and would never use my real name if I was complaining about something because of all the nutcases like I see are on here !   And, in case anyone cares, I don't like Chinese made things, but it seems to be all you can find anymore!

Actually  I  had a Natuzzi leather couch for many years and it was the best leather couch I have ever had, and I have had quite a few.  Of course I bought it before all the Chinese made furniture was filling up the stores.  I am not sure where they are made now, probably China and I am sure mine was made in Italy as it was quite a few years ago that I bought it.

I'm am thinking of buying a chateau d'ax sofa and love seat from bloomingdales . they are having a 30% then a 20% and then a 10% off for i forgot what . so it will cost half the orginal price .after reading these reviews , i'm getting nervous about the purchase . my thought has been that bloomingdale in general doesn't F around .
can anyone out there tell me where I can get a good grade of leather sofas for a reasonable price . If i want to spend just 4k for a sofa and loveseat combined -where should i go in ny or nj. thanks .

All leather products made in China are crap. We bought $2,900 worth and everything is falling apart. The company we purchased from are not backing their products and are stating that the damage is due to peeling. Even though everything is tearing. I put my elbow through the couch a few weeks ago. Customer service thinks I'm lying. Don't buy from these people they have an F rating from the BBB. I hope they go out of business across the country like they did in San Diego.

I heard the furniture is all assembled in China but the leather is made in Italy or Argentina. So the tags say "made in china".
