I BOUGHT A  CHATEAU D'AX DOUBLE RECLINER SOFA  ,  WAS TOLD IT WAS MADE IN ITALY OR CHINA  AND  I TOLD THE SALESLADY  I DID NOT WANT ONE MADE IN CHINA, THEN SHE SAID OH I THINK THEY ARE MADE IN ITALY.  I TRAVELED 500 MILES TO PICK UP AT THEIR WEARHOUSE AND GOT HOME AND UNPACKED THE SOFA, AND TAGS ALL OVER IT SAYING  MADE IN CHINA  AND IT DOES NOT EVEN FEEL OR LOOK LIKE THE ONE IN THE MACYS STORE I SAT ON FOR A LONG TIME.  AND IT DOES NOT HAVE ONE TAG SAYING IT IS A  CHATEAU D'AX SOFA, AND THE COMPANY IS AN ITALIAN COMPANY SO WHY WOULD THE SOFA BE MADE IN CHINA ?????  I THOUGHT ITALIAN SOFAS WERE MADE IN ITALY.   AND I DEFINITELY TOLD THE SALESLADY I DID NOT WANT ANYTHING MADE IN CHINA......

I was looking for this Chateau d'Ax co. and came across this. Well wish I had read this before i purchased my leather sectional. First I don't care if it was made in China, Africa or the U.S. I expect it to last longer than 7 freaking months. I purchased my sectional from Gardiners Furniture in August 2012. After 2 weeks I noticed the foam padding on the back and sides were shifting downward exposing the bare board. I called and they replaced two pieces. Well, now they are all sliding off and you can feel the hard board frames. Called Gardiners and they told me nothing they can do it's from me sitting on the furniture. Yeah I guess I shouldn't be sitting on it. So I am basically s o l . After only seven months the boards are exposed, very unsafe. I payed 5 thousand for this set. I am so upset. Do not buy from Gardiners

Some is made in Italy--as a dealer, you have to hand choose the italian styles to get them on the same container.

As I side note--the ones from China sat so differently than the Italian--our dealer chose to by only the Italian--no Chinese.

Wow, this post has been going on for a long time! Interesting..........I only looked up 'CHATEAU D'AX spa' to find a love seat to match my beautiful, real leather (smells like leather anyway), full foam feeling, nine foot sofa; actually made in ITALY and delivered March 2001.  I love it - no tears, no foam issues, wonderful leather smell, purchased just four years ago and I paid up the ying yang at a Macy's not even on sale and it has been great with no complaints.  I'm only trying to find a love seat with the same style arms and close to the same color.
And Claudia, you could easily delete your messages.

I have had a Chateau d/Ax leather sofa, 2 club chairs and large otomen set purchased from a retail store over 5 years ago!  We have sat in it, bounced on it, let our dog run all over it....and it is holding up just fine and looks as good today as it did the day we bought it.   I think it is a great value.  I am concerned about the Chinese workers who got paid so little to make it.  But it would have cost double or triple for one made in North Carolina.

norally it would be up to the usa to punish those desceptive sellers.
because they give the made in italy a bad name.

We purchased leather set 3 1/2 yrs ago and all the color is comming out of the leather. It's on the seating area the arms and head area and looks like [***]! one thin i have to say whoever is dying this leather is really bad at it or they are in a hurry and not letting the leather dry. I contacted the store and they won't do anything because it was a 1 yr warranty! Excuse me leather shouldn't wear in 1 yr nor should it wear in 3. We pd. 3,900 for this piece of [***]! i will never  ever buy anything manufactured in china again! it's a big ripp off! i from now on will buy American made!

I bought a 5 seats leather sofa from Chateau D’Ax 2yrs ago. Now I'm waiting for the second service of the same seat. The problem is the foam deteriorates again (though they have added an extra foam from the last service), and you can feel the hard board frames underneath. Obviously, the foam they used is from a very low quality. I asked them to replace the foam. They ignore it, and is coming to add another one. Surely, it won't fix the problem. When I purchased the sofa, the salesman told me it was made in Italy.
