My fiance and I were out of town and we bought our son some jeans. When we got home for him to try them on, they were too long for him. I attempted to exchange them at a local Dillards and the salesperson, without looking at the product, rudely told me that I couldn't exchange nor get my money back because it was after 3 days and they were on sale. He also made the sarcastic comment about us taking them to Goodwill. I informed him that we did not buy them from Goodwill. Please help me with this. Is this the correct return policy for sale items?

    The local store has no interest in taking back a product they didn't sell, but the company management does have an interest in not pissing off customers.

    Either way, you'll find out what you're worth as a customer.
