These people are driving me crazy. Please know that in an actual class action lawsuit, people contacting you will have specific information on the device/ medication you have and when you got it, as well as readily share info on the organization and lawsuit that you can probably verify easily with a few minutes googling.  They're been calling at least twice a week since last summer, and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. first it was "have you ever taken birth control" now it's "how you ever had bladder surgery."  There were various numbers, many for 767 area code (caribbean), Now they show up as unavailable.  Previously claimed to be in florida, now houston. They don't know what time it is there. They tell me they work for the medical compensation dept (that's the business name) or the "U.S.A government" medical compensation dept. (gov't organzation unknown), or the attorney's association - none of those organizations exist.   They don't know the device/ medication for which people can get compensation, or the manufacturer who's paying it, or the attorneys in charge of the case. One told me the device is "you know, that device that you have, that's been causing you problems, made by the manufacturer." (I have no devices or problems whatsoever). Unsurprisingly, they also have no last names, mailing address, website, or phone numbers.   They are all men with Indian accents and thankfully polite.

I have been getting these as well for months now, several times a day.  I have asked each to take me off their calling list as I am on the national Do Not Call Registry.  Each one keeps telling me that they will take me off their calling list ..., but the calls continue.  I have reported them to the FTC as well as the Do Not Call Registry website.  The phone number I was called by is1-786-676-8920 and everyone that has called all have accents from India.

      Hi,

I have been getting these calls for months too; they are mostly telemarketers from India using fake names like George, John, Jake etc. Some of them are polite.  I am an Indian and sometimes when I request them that I am not interested they are polite and take me off the list.  But some of them are rude right from the start even if I try to hang up they call me back and one of them very recently gave his phone to his supervisor who called me back saying that we will call you back as many times as you hang up on us.  The latest no was from Ft. Lauderdale. 954-210-1817.

I eceived calls on several occasions over the past couple of months with a similar introduction as mentioned by Laurie and Sarah. Each time it was a male with an accent (India) and the number varied.  I told them on each call that the information they have on file is incorrect and asked that they not call again.  However, a few days later they're back.  SMH

I got a call yesterday (Friday, 04/18) from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be Eric Johnson from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services calling regarding a medical compensation lawsuit. He was very polite, but didn't answer any questions with straightforward answers. He asked about surgeries, including bladder. I told him that was very personal information that I wasn't willing to share with a stranger. Also, asked if I had taken birth control pills. I asked for a phone number to call back and verify who he said he was. He gave me 929-250-0864 the number on my caller ID, but I didn't pursue the issue. He couldn't answer how he got my number and just kept saying that they wouldn't ask for any payment. I could barely understand him and kept explaining that I couldn't understand what he was saying. He said, okay, I will say again - and then he would say the same thing very slowly, which didn't help. Clearly a scam and a waste of valuable time. Blessings to all!

Out of curiosity I just called the number "Eric Johnson" gave me yesterday, and, of course, 929-250-0864 is a non-working number. Imagine that!

I also received a call from 1- 929 250 0864, I did not answer because I have been receiving these medical compensation calls for the last couple of months. Same as everyone else on this site - man with thick Indian accent. The past calls were about surgeries that either myself or other women in my family might have had, and also the bladder thing. I have been sort of nasty to these people every time I answer their call  (I cannot ignore calls for business reasons). I have told them to stop calling, remove me from their list, get a real job and stop scamming people. Only one time did I engage them in any dialogue, I asked why they are calling from CA if they are from the medical compensation board for my state (not CA), they said that their headquarters are located in Ca. I said great what is the address so I can verify the info before  answering  questions. I was told they are not allowed to give out that information and if I would just answer a few questions they could transfer me to someone who is authorized to give me their address! Really, c'mon what legit business wont give out their contact details??
Anyway today I called the number back, polite Indian man answered, but not with the name of the company. I asked and he said he was from the Dept. o f Health and Human Services. He asked me about surgeries. I just said NO to their 2 questions and he said thank you and hung up...... hope that's the last of it.

    NOT AGAIN!
Very interesting reading this blogs--we have been on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY since it's inception--AND we PAY to have an unlisted/unpublished number--this bunch just called here, but I did not answer.  Last evening an elderly gentleman from a national home vet association called wanting a donation--very sweet man, I said we have vets in our family and we give locally--he asked me if any of them were homeless, and I said NOT YET--he laughed, and was very nice as he knew I was NOT going to donate.  I am about ready to ask for my money back on these solicitation and annoying calls.  In fact, I may just be checking in with the WONDERFUL phone company to see what the deal is--I LIKE TO KNOW HOW THEY ARE GETTING IT AS WE LEAVE OUR HOME PHONE OFF OF EVERYTHING.

    INDIA CALLING
Telemarketing calls as well as phone scams is a numbers game. If there's any way you can interfere with the number of calls they make, it will create a liability for them. So, if you have the time, the longer you can keep them talking keeps them from making another call. Talk about anything except the information they seek!!

India Calling is right. They need to make X number of calls a day to find that one poor soul who will buy into whatever scam it is that they are selling. That's why when I figure out it is one of these kinds of calls, I immediately set the phone down and go about doing whatever I was doing when they called. I check back once in a while to see if they are on the line. If they are, I will say uh-huh or no. Eventually, they hang up but I have taken up 3 or 4 minutes of their time.

I just received a call from the "Medical Compensation Group" a woman with an idean accent. The number was 716-4424267. She asked all kinds of questions, Bladder surgery, Blood thinner medicine, Asked If I had any pain anywhere. I answered no to everything then said to take me off the list. What is the purpose of the calls. How does it benefit them if I said Yes to any of the questions?  I am really getting sick of the calls. They don't stop they come all day. I don't answer they call back over and over. If you call the number back it says it is disconnected.
