I have been trying for a month to get the contact information for the Legal Department for Bank of America.  The phone number, 415-622-9688, listed on their website is not a working number, the email contact daniel.weiss@bankofamerica.com is not a valid email address.  I contacted BOA tonight by phone and their chat link with out obtaining the contact information for the legal department for BOA.

In December 2017 my Mother died leaving me a house which my husband and I have decided to move into and sell our current home (which is now up for sale).  We went to BOA where we have been a customer for over 30 years to get a Heloc on the house with no mortgage.  After waiting for Customer Service for over a half hour, the Representative took another 20 minutes to get us on the phone with a loan officer to take the application over the phone taking over a half hour.  Two days later we were informed that BOA would not do a "bridge" loan as we were not officially living in the home and could not use it for a Heloc.  Went to another bank (one that was warm and took our application in the office after we explained everything) and was told that there was a Lien on the home by (you guessed it) BOA.
When Nations bank became BOA they purged all Helocs that had a zero balance.  However they neglected to send a Lien Release to the county.  THIS WAS OVER 15 YEARS AGO.  I contacted Customer Service who redirected me to the Mortgage Department who told me that I had to have a Title Search sent to them.  And of course BOA was not going to pay for it.  The title search was sent to the Mortgage Department by the bank doing our Heloc (Home Equity Line of Credit) and after over two weeks we still have no resolution.  Despite calls from me requesting the status the of the problem and rude customer service reps telling me it was processing, we are still in "LIMBO" being held hostage by a BOA bank error that does not seem to be in any hurry to correct the error.  What is really sad is that we may have to get our attorney involved at our cost to get this issue resolved.
When this issue is resolved one way or another, you can bet we will be leaving BOA for a bank that actually cares about  customers.
A WORD TO THE WISE.  IF YOU HAVE CLOSED ANY LOANS WITH BOA, CHECK YOUR COUNTY RECORDS TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A LIEN SATISFACTION ON FILE.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A LOAN ON YOUR PROPERTY OR SELL IT IF THERE IS AN UNSATISFIED LEIN ON IT.
