I received another attempt to collect an old debt from you pleasant office today.  I would really appreciate it if you would just go ahead and write off what your not going to be able to collect before the statute runs out.  You know times are tough for everyone.  It was not my intention to have anything go to collection.  I am out of work!  How do you people sleep at night.  I will not be answering the phone, so move on to someone else.  As soon as the statue is up, I will be removing you from my credit report.  I have complete control over what is going on as far as my credit goes.  I have dealt with people that understand what it is like to live wondering how your bills are going to get paid.  I am deeply sorry but I can't help with your commission checks.  I wonder how many people that work for collection agencies are in debt up to their @#%, so think about that.  You are getting paid by someone else's distress.

Yes I sleep very well, God grants me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, to change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference. No one wants to owe any one but hard times come to everyone at some point in life and when it does we become stressed. We are then exposed to debt collectors who are paid to have no  compassion, what they don't realize is that its a job and they too could be in your predicament tomorrow. You do have the power over them by simply wishing them well  when they become rude and hanging up your phone. You still have rights under the FDCPA learn them and sleep well.

I used to work for carson Smithfield.  Here is the best way to deal with this debt collector.  I know its hard but pay something on this debt consistently every month, even if it is just $10.  You will feel good about "doing your best" in difficult times.  It'll give you confidence.  Soon enough you will have paid this down to where a payment of $10 or so over will save you money with a settlement.

You referenced God in your comment.  Is this the same God who in the gospel says that if you owe a creditor, go to them, apologize, and plead for affordable payment terms and states that they would be justified in getting a judgement against you and enforcing payment of every last penny owed.  Seriously my friend that is what jesus said.  Yes the creditor is also to be kind, gracious and merciful, but the debtor is also to be honest, reliable, diligent and responsible.

Wow, WJN - you are full of it! You still work for the company and are trying to get them paid!

It was predatory lending that caused the crash of 2008, people like you need to be lined up in front of a firing squad (While being displayed live). Then we tell the rest of the Junk Debt Buyers and their Lawyers they will be next!

If this was to occur we would see Nationwide changes on how bad Debt is collected.

WJN, in the Old Testament, God's Law was that ALL debts be forgiven every 7 years.... I personally dont know what the time frame is for having debts "written off",  could be the 7 years like God said for all I know.  Yes He said the person should make their payments, and if they couldnt return the land or whatever... Do ya all want everyones CC purchaces?

More importantly god forbids charging any interest. I think the world would be much better off without lending or borrowing any money ever. Make it illegal and happiness will come to all.

When you can't pay....you CAN'T pay. Don't answer the phone and don't get involved. Once you answer that phone you are in PLAY! IF you make a $10 payment...you increase the length of time to get you.
Don't try to explain..they are not your mother! Don't look back, bad things happen to really nice people.
    Warmly, GEM
