Salesman came to house newly bought, gave a spectacular presentation with water and food coloring. After an hour of insisting we could not afford it, he finally got us to take a 3 day trial. Salesman said to call him and he would cancel product by the third day otherwise we would be obligated to pay for it. Call the guy day before time was up and he gave us the run around, saying someone will be there to pick it up on a certain day at a certain time, no one came and finally the saleman said to us we have to send in paperwork to cancel product by third day, was too late for us mail man picked up mail from mail box already and the paperwork was postmarked one day late. Now we are stuck with a bill for $4900. Manager in office was very rude, hanging up phone and insulting. Don't fall for presentation, Our lesson learned.

There is nothing illegal about testing basic things in water in a home, theres no law saying that any test performed on household water has to be sent off to any lab, again know the facts before you start talking about things....

The message that Tim Stanfield has posted is completely false and inaccurate. The Boise,ID office offers a 30 day free trial with no cost or obligation and I do not know where Mr. Stanfield has gotten his information from but the salesman does NOT have to send the water anywhere to get sampled, the salesman has his own water test kit to check and make sure the equipment is working correctly. Mr.Stanfield should have done his proper research before posting false accusations online. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at terry@aspenh2o.com.

      Terry,

Why don't you provide us with your direct numbet instead, because the number listed on the website goes to a different company and the ext. rings without an answer.

If you truly stand by your company and your product, then providing your contact info, should not be a problem.

      Concerned customer.

Well of course you can check it with your own test kit and see if it is working properly thats a no brainer but ive been out to multiple customer's homes that have had problems with these Avian softeners lets first take one thing into account look up Avian softener online and go to there website and look for there phone number wait what? no phone number, I wonder why? anyways i know terry must stand up for a product they sell but once the crummy product is exposed maybe you will have to start installing good quality products that cost more than a couple hundred dollars.

I have been using one of Avian's softeners for about 3 years and all went well until we started experiencing a Sulphur smell in the water. Now here is where they rip you off. Moreover none of their service line operator are in the position to tell you the real price of these units. They have been selling them more then 4 times the price, and we fell for that. I will NOT recommend their rates.

I work as the Director of Marketing for the company that manufactures the Avian brand water treatment products.  The dealers of our products are all independently owned and operated and we rely on these dealers to properly apply these products and perform any ongoing service as needed.  Any homeowner that feels they are not getting the proper customer service from their Avian dealer should contact us immediately.  Nate's comment above would leave you to believe we don't make this information available on our website, but we do.  Go to:  www.avianwater.com and click the link to "Contact Us".  From here you can communicate directly with the manufacturer who will gladly assist you with your conflict.  There are many thousands of satisfied Avian Water Systems customers throughout the U.S. and it is our desire to ensure that they are all satisfied with their experience.  Like with all business transactions, eventually someone won't feel totally satisfied.  In those cases, if they can't be resolved exclusively by your local dealer, please contact the manufacturer directly.

I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt. After having this unit for two years I developed problems, I called the local company First Coast Water, whom I bought the system and they are no longer in business, I also went to the website; www.avianwater.com looking for a contact telphone number as describe above, hoping to speak to a person but was only given a place to write comments. In giving the benifit of the doubt I am willing to wait a couple of days to hear about anything from my comments, meanwhile I have a 6,000 dollar system thats not working. I will report back in two days wether or not I heard anything from them.

Mr. Sidwell, I do have a question.  I have a system that was installed approximately two years ago from a company called First Coast Water.  I recently had a problem with my system, and that problem has hindered the use of the system because I need a part replaced or need a technician to service the system, long story short, can't find anyone to service the system, why is that?

i had the system installed about 1 month ago. i live in south texas and i recently was at lowes and saw a system which was about 700.00. the company is charging 6000.00. what gives. i am researching whether their system is any better but so far no luck. i feel foolish, for purchasing the system without doing some research.

I to purchased mine in south texas. 8 yrs and I'm still paying. Looks like my $68.00 payment won't ever bring down the balance. I feel ripped off. $6000.00 will be more like $30,000.00

I feel foolish also..I'm just sick about this and it's only been 5 months since I paid 5,000 for this set up...The salesman only tells me what he thinks I want to hear...I have a glass of water sitting on the table now,and you can't see through the water...I know if I call him he wouldn't give me an honest reply...

Where did you buy your system?  Did you have a trial with the system before you purchased it?  Do you have a RO system as well?

    Partially satisfied
I am definitely a little upset about how much I paid for the system and installment. I too did not research before I bought one. My system seems to work well for our well except for the fact that I need it to cycle more often and I can not figure out how to reset the meter and have it cycle more frequently. The manual I received was copies from a conclusive manual. Does anyone know how to get a complete manual?
Also, my salt tank/brine tank smells bad. Is this normal?

I purchased a house in 2007 that had an avian system on it.  It was sold to an older lady that owned the house, the year before. The State of Florida prosecuted the avain dealer for basically ripping people off and they went out of business.  So, now,, I have a 6500.00 system that i paid for as part of the selling price of the house, that i have no one to service....  barkermd01@aol.com
