My company keeps our business bank account with Union Bank here in California, and this morning (Feb 2, 2012) a fraudulent charge appeared with the merchant charge string: Digital St 372 OLD STREET +442081237377 GB.  A phone number search points back to this website of course and "Digital Star".  I have reported it to the bank and they indicate that it was a debit transaction overseas, yet the only debit card for this account is still in our possession.  We have never purchased anything with this account overseas so we have to assume fraud.  The bank has cancelled our company debit card and is reissuing a new one and is launching an investigation.  Thought I would post this new info in the event it helps to trace the source of the card info theft that apparently has occurred.

Same old story.  A charge of $74.95 plus foreign transaction fee of $2.24 for a purchase from "Digital Star" was entered on my credit card 1/30/2012.  We use this card only for Internet purchases, only, so the fraudulent charge had to be compromised via an internet purchase.  We cancelled the card and are having another one issued.

I had a fraudulent charge of $74.95 from "Digital Star +44208123 +442081237377 GB" posted on 02/06/2012 on my Visa statement. A transaction fee of $1.49 was also added. I called my bank right away, got the account closed and a new card re-issued.

Same thing happened to me with a $149.99 charge on boa credit card on 2/16/2012. Only two online places that I used card was Amazon and PSN (play station network). I figured it was PSN due to I purchased games online straight through new sony vita console for the first time.  Plus knowing that games and movies are being purchased constantly through play station using an account linked to either debit or credit card. Most people especially children order these not even thinking  about the card linked to the account. I have been reading all the complaints and info and I agree with anon I don't think it's making purchases online. Some people haven't even used the card that was compromised online at all. Has been either debit or credit card several different banks and some cards used online some not. Amazon started out being the common thread because it is the biggest online retailer. From  all the info it has to be somebody running card numbers and expiration dates until they find a match. Probably computerized system.

Digital Star's merchant number is being used. The company was dissolved a couple of days before fraudulent charges start appearing. I don't understand why is that merchant number still valid if the company has been dissolved?  Hoping they find and shut this operation down soon.

I use Amazon and had the card stored for my Kindle purchases and I also used Turbo Tax to do my son's federal income tax return. I have had two charges of $74.95 from Digital Star; had to cancel my debit card and start a fraud report. If we can google it so easily, why can't the banks put a block on them?

I also found a charge from Feb on my Visa for $74.95 to Digital Star, but didn't see it until about 2 weeks ago. My card issuer, Capital One, said due to its being so long ago, they can do nothing. They said the company was in the UK. Has anyone found a way to report them to some authority who can stop them, arrest them, etc.?
