I was checking my Mother's checking account and found $30.00 for two month had been taken out of her account from Splendor Concepts.  Went online to check out this company and found out this company is a FRAUD and taking money from elderly people.  Called Splendor Concepts and they wanted to know if I wanted my shipment stop???  I told the customer rep. I was calling to see why they had been taking money out of my Mother's account when she nor I had told them too.  He said must have been a keying error!!!  Told him no keying error for two months wanted money credited back to her account and it I found more money taken out I would proceed with further action.  I also told him they were a bunch of frauds trying to get rich from elderly people.

They have been showing a pattern of complaints consistent with intentional fraud and theft, apparently specifically targeted at the elderly, and so far with no actual reports of any scammy telemarketing calls, suggesting they may be illegally buying account information, possibly from some other scam.  There are several reports they had "excuses" at the ready when contacted, like your "keying error" excuse.

Do NOT wait for a fraudulent merchant to return stolen money.  They will typically try to run out the 60 day dispute period during which you can get your money back through your bank, using various excuses, and if you let that pass, you are out of luck.  ALWAYS get it back through a fraud dispute with your bank, as that is more sure, documents the nature of the fraud, and forces a chargeback fee on the dishonest merchant to reduce the profitability of submitting fraudulent charges into the system.

File a fraud dispute through your mother's bank, and block the card number (if the charge was by debit card) or shut down the account (if ACH or remotely created check), to prevent further fraud.

File fraud complaints with FTC, your state AG, the Illinois AG, and at www.ic3.gov

Although so far no complaints are reporting telemarketing contact prior to these fraudulent charges, it's worth asking about suspicious calls, based on how they would typically appear in a scam targeted against the elderly.

Does your mother remember receiving any strange calls recently, perhaps offering some sort of "free trial", or otherwise using a "hard sell" approach, including abuse, belittlement, or rudeness?
