My husband has bought Thom McCan shoes for years and loved them.
3-28-08 he purchased a pair that lasted a few months
5-23-08 he purchased a pair that lasted 3 months same thing the sole came loose. Thinking just a defect in this style on 8-6-08 he decided to purchase a differant style these also fell apart. What is up with that?

I bought a pair of Thom McCann sandals with "memory foam" soles at K-Mart in May of this year, thinking that I was getting a really good brand at a decent (sale) price. I found, though, that every time I wore them my feet would start burning after about 3 - 4 hours. At first I thought I'd have to get them broken in. I tried wearing them both with and without socks, but to no avail. Not only do the soles of my feet burn, but afterwards I have a LOT of trouble sleeping due to the discomfort. By the next morning they are better, and I don't seem to have any other after-effects.

I yahoo'd the problem and discovered that some other people reported allergic reaction to memory foam ingredients, though no one had mentioned it in relation to sandals.I don't have my receipt from K-mart, but do plan to go back to see if they will give me a refund or store credit. Wish me luck!!

It is not just TM shoes. The last three pair I bought have been worn once, second pair three times, third pair maybe a week. They all fell apart. The shoes are old and dry rotted. They are Sears no sales.

I have a pair of nice looking heavy duty boots.  They were worn a few hours and the soles became separated.  Sears refused to replace them.   Sears is now a lousy company and they are now the dregs of society.   No one should buy shoes from sears.

I bought one pair in August 2015 and three months later the soles came apart. Took them back to Sears and they said only 30 day guarantee. Well, I tried again in December 2015 and bought another pair and again 2 months later the soles came apart. Can the soles be stichted  on rather than glued? I would like to send them back to Tom Mccan. Please provide an address.

I purchased a pair of brown Thom McCann shoes years ago.  Since they provided such good wear, I purchased a new pair two months ago.  After less than a week of ware, the soles started separating from the shoe.  I took these back to Kmart, and they replaced them with a new pair.  After wearing these 4 times, they too are starting to separate at the soles!

I purchase Thom Mc An Benson sandals at Kmart and gave a favorable review. After two months the soles on both shoes split completely in half. Store as well as Kmart headquarters would not replace. Sometimes, a firm deserves to go under!

Thom McAn used to be a quality, American made shoe (which had its own chain of stores), but like virtually every other consumer product in the last decade, is now being made cheaply by poorly paid Chinese labor.
And the brand is now sold at Kmart - a retailer that has been hurting since being acquired by Sears, the once-great company  now being sorely mismanaged.  Many Sears and Kmart stores have been shut down, and others that remain open have fallen into disrepair while more stores close. There is talk of bankruptcy - Sears stores have hardly any customers, and few clerks (customer service is next to nonexistent).
