My dental office was scammed by this company as well: $676.80.  They called threatening to report my business to collection agencies, and played a falsified recording of someone in my office agreeing to pay them.  They are located in Bethesda, MD 800-777-4126 and the person who called me was Alyssa Anderson.

They are a fraudulent "business directory" shakedown scam.

Bet they aren't in "Bethesda MD".  Most of these are in Montreal Canada, although some have Indian or Pakistani call centers making their fraudulent calls.  Doctored recordings are practically a signature tactic for these Montreal "business directory" scams.  They can edit a "yes" obtained from some call "to confirm your information" into any script they want.

If you can, immediately contact your bank to dispute the charge and block the card number or shut down the account to prevent further fraud and theft.

They commonly use mail drops, maybe UPS Store, sometimes Regus "virtual offices", to appear like they are in the US.  Mail forwarders in Champlain NY, just across the Canadian border, are also popular with Montreal scammers.  What address in "Bethesda MD"?

Got the same invoice.. once from a "Glenn Bennett" another one today from a "Shuna Rivers"..

I hope they get to read this... HEY  I WILL NOT PAY STOP WAISTING YOUR TIME"
Prey on some Old lady at a church or some Mom & Pop, and maybe you'll put them out of
business and the "Head Guy above will deal with you, when you get to meet him"  Maybe you'll
get a do not pass Go card and head to the depths of the earth!!!

Others here do not pay or fall to this scam..  IT is Local Business YELLOWPAGES... Bethesda Metro Center, Gethesda Maryland.. They will send you Multiple Faxes and Call and threaten You.

They are rude, and hope to get somebody that will pay it..

Got the exact same invoice myself.  It's a true out right scam!  I called them back and asked what is this about I did not agree to this service.  He went to talk to his boss and came back and stated that instead of paying $676.80, i only had to pay $499.99, or be sent to collections.

I am a dentist and same scam happened to me.  Had my business mgr. on tape saying yes which she emphatically assures me she never agreed to a monetary deal as we haven't taken any new patients in 6 years and don't advertise.  Says they sent many invoices but I get all the mail and have never got any notice until "Mr. Price" called. This company is called "Local Business Yellowpages" and have a Miami FL address on their fax.

How interesting that we got the same bill from "Local Business YellowPages" for the exact same amount of $676.80 from a Miami, Florida address. The original price at $599.00 after some "special promotion", and then six months of interest charges even though this was the first bill that was mailed to us.

I looked up the address, even the exact same suite number and it's an address for a Law Firm not the business! I just might call the Firm and see if there is even a company in their building under the YellowPages name.

We also received the same phone call and scam from the "Local Business YellowPages" from Miami, Florida. Kayla Edwards in their collection department threatened to turn us over to collections for an unpaid bill and interest charges of $676.80 (sound familiar). Months earlier they had called my office "to verify the information of our current Yellow Page listing," and they used these "yes" responses to create a bogus authorization for services with their company, and then they tried to collect for these unauthorized services. We have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, and every other possible complaint website or phone number. This corrupt business practice needs to be stopped, and the employees should be fined or jailed for their actions.

Address is a mail forwarder.  They probably have lots of businesses using the same address, and Google may find some of them.  Some may even be actual law firms, but it doesn't mean this "company" has any connection with them.

We received a call in Feb. from someone claiming to be from the Local Business Yellow Pages. They stated there was an outstanding invoice we needed to clear up. When I inquired about the timeline of the invoice I was told a date that predated our purchase of the business. I was told the previous owners contract was automatically renewed and since we did not terminate it we were now responsible. I stated we would not pay this bill but they could send the invoice so we could pass it on to the rightful owner. We never received an invoice. I thought the matter was dropped until Alyssa Anderson called our small business to collect on an unpaid invoice. She has me on tape verifying my name and address and agreeing to accept a copy of the invoice. She offered me a discount free of the interest that has accrued should I pay over the phone. I asked to speak with someone from customer service. She gave me a phone number 1-866-591-3955 but told me I would be wasting my time as the call would be directed back to her because she was handling our file. This scam has an address of 801 Brickwell Ave., Suite 900, Miami, FL 33131.

Scam so fresh in my hands I can smell it! My caller said his name was Jason Betz from Florida. It was exactly as the posts above said. They called our office in March of this year, asked me tons of questions... I should have just hunt up immediately but I hate to be rude. I hope he recorded our conversation this time!!!!! He can burn as far as I am concerned. It bothers me that people are paying this. Someone needs to shut them down! I knew he was scamming me but he still upset me. It seems to me that these people must have a gun to their heads to do something so evil. Karma come full force! Please! Everyone out there needs to warn everyone they know about this! He even told me that I was personally responsible as the receptionist that took the call. That they would sue the business and me personally. Wow... I told him I would call him back after I talked to our lawyer and he freaked and took another hundred off of "my bill". LOL....

Dental office here as well.  We got a fax yesterday morning from a Jennifer Collins (collection agent) from Local Business Yellow Pages.  Bill for  $599 after a $250 "special promotion".  Of course we haven't received any bills until the fax letting us know we are past due.  After interest charges and a $40 admin fee our total invoice comes to $676.80.  Wow, that same amount keeps coming up!  I had barely had a chance to look into the faxed invoice but who calls?  Jennifer of course.  My wife spoke to her first and Jennifer went from 0 to snippy pretty quickly.  My wife informed her that we have never done business with them and have NOT agreed to any contracts.  Her first response was to play a cutely edited recording of my Business coordinator supposedly saying yes to a bunch of questions asked by a quality assurance rep.  According to the tape my employee is giving authorization to this contract and assuring that she is authorized to approve this, again by saying "yes".  The funny thing is all the yeses sound the same, like they just edited in a recorded "yes" to the questions supposedly asked by the QA rep.  She says she remembers getting a call in March about a contract renewal and verified our address and said yes to other questions but that she would never authorize any contract.  I googled "Local Business Yellow Pages" and the only things listed are scam alerts like this page.......  We will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (they have an alert on this company) and the Federal Trade Commission.

Just wanted to say I finally won the battle with these scammers.  Please file a complaint with the BBB.  I did and they responded by voiding the invoice and stating they would not contact our business again.
Do not pay these bogus fees!!!  Fight back, and you will win.  They try to bully you and use scare tactics about taking you to court, etc.  It is all an attempt to scare you into paying it.

We are an orthotic and prosthetic office and had the exact same thing happen. Anthony Morgan, Collection Agent for the Local Business Yellow Pages faxed an invoice for $676.80 ($599 plus interest). When I called him back he played a recording of one of my employees authorizing the advertisement. When I listened to it, I told him I thought it sounded like a computerized voice. He assured me it was my employee. Then he offered to cancel the rest of the subscription and reduce the amount owed. I said I would get back to him and then I did a search by the phone number he gave me (866) 591-3955 and found this page. I intend to file a complaint with the BBB. And I will not be paying the invoice.

Ironic; we are a DME/Mastectomy store. Guess they're targeting medical practices.

I'm generally pretty saavy to these scams, have received post cards in the mail for years. Phone tactic a new low; Julie Phillips just replayed me responding "That's correct" to all the verifications of my address, phone, etc.  I never say "Yes" on these recordings and still got slammed for $599.99 plus interest and legal fees. She has threatened to take me to court.

Calls to BBB, Maryland Attorney General and FTC now will take up my morning, costing me invaluable time.

We are an optometric practice and we got the same exact faxed copy of an invoice for the same $676.80.  If you call the number (866)591-3955 x 404 or (786) 233-6747 you will have to  leave a message.  My "Collection Agent" is Nikki Hill and she sounds like she is from the middle east.  They will then call you back from a blocked number and negotiate with you.  You may opt to do the early termination which is $499.  I told them I had to talk to my business partner and filed it with the BBB. We got the same mailing address in Miami

My Chiropractic office got hit with this scam.  We have been receiving daily calls from "Brian Foster" claiming we owe  $676.80.  We have no intent on paying.  I've already contacted the BBB and FTC.
