Hello, My name is Randy and on August 6,2004, In Kern County I was involved in a car accident My car was a Ford Fiesta, one of the smallest. I was knocked unconscious. The Police cited the other driver for making an illegal turn.

The other driver just happened to carry Liberty Mutual Insurance. I chose to represent myself in court. As a driver or a passenger, I have never sued anyone. Hospital, ambulance, doctor and physical therapy bills kept piling up, and Liberty Mutual Insurance, never paid a single dollar of my medical bills that totaled $12,000.00.

For 2 years I answered all their question such as work, finical, bills etc. Liberty kept dragging out my case; finally I took them to court. On October 2006, Liberty, obtained my medical records by using a subpoena. Doctors I had never seen, hospitals that had I was never treated at for my car accident, or hospital I had not been to in the past 13 years.

On April 9,2007, I sent a certified letter to Liberty's Attorney and told him that if he continued with his nonsense and fishing trip in my life, I would take my case to the people.

My friend I will give you just a few examples of the questions I was expected to answer: They wanted my banking records, my credit history, safety deposit box information, HIV/ AIDS status, past employers or /and employees, my salary among many other personal questions, yet they wouldn't pay me for my pain and suffering and medical bills.

My friends, the best way to fight a greedy, sneaky, fraudulent giant likes Liberty Mutual, is to let people know how they operate. The Liberty Mutual that I was dealing with was the office in Ontario, California.

I was screwed by liberty mutual just today. Their driver hit my car, I had photos to prove it with paint and matching dents/scratches on the two cars and they refused to admit fault. Exposing liberty mutual scandal is my new purpose to ensure others aren't screwed over as well.

I have been a policy holder of Liberty Mutual for many years and have never had any claims or disputes with your company until now.
I am absolutely amazed at the lack of professionalism and poor service of your company and must assume that this is your standard of service.

My claim number is:  PD359-014796124-01‏ and the event happened on May 8th. I was assigned a claim officer and immediately wrote him a note concerning this claim:

Thanks for all your help on my claim.  Goodyear Tire and Repair is sending you directly all of the bills concerning the accident of last Sat. May 8th.
As I told the original person, the Port Authority is the responsible agent in this case and I was told by them to contact you and that you would contact them directly concerning this claim.  Their claim reference is 693-10 and I made the police report at their offices on Bruce Reynolds Ave. in Ft. Lee, N.J.
If you need to contact me....my cell number is 201-776-1010.
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.  The claim and all payment for damages to my car are the responsibility of Port Authority.
    Hank Citron

I never heard from this person so I called the claim representative number and spoke to another agent who wanted to know where the car was and would they forward pictures of the damage and final bill which they did.

The background of this accident is as follows:

On May 8th, my wife and I were returning from New York City via the upper level of the G.W. Bridge when I hit a pothole.   We were travelling on Rt95 going west and had reached the dividing point of the highway which intersects with the entrances of Rt.4 and 9W. just before the Fletcher Ave. overpass.  I was in very heavy traffic, having just left the bridge, and approaching these twin turn offs from Rt.95.

My car hit the pothole on the right front wheel and right rear wheel as well.  This completely disabled the car ruining the tires and cracking the tire rims.  I did not understand or know at that time the extent of suspension damages that had been done.  When I finally sorted out the road service I learned that this part of the highway is under the control of The Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J. This occasioned my note to your claims representative which is coped above.

After several days and more requests on my part; a Ms .June Bennet contacted me and told me that a check would be sent to me for about a $1000 or so.  She informed me that an insurance company may not issue a claim against a public entity such as The Port Authority and I was entitled on my own to seek redress of my deductable in my policy or whatever I wanted to claim.
I was shocked by the small amount of money she offered me.  I understood the issue of the deductable which was $500, but the total cost of the repairs of the car was over $2800.  She stated that the insurance covered only the right side of my car.  I told her that my repair shop and others that I would subsequently speak to insist that you cannot put one spring, shock or strut in a car.  The car so repaired will simply not run correctly and will always be out of balance because of wear difference between the old spring, shock, and strut among other things with the new ones.  These things are repaired in pairs.  She insisted and I asked to speak to her supervisor.  She was reluctant but finally stated the Supervisor was busy but would call me back.  The Supervisor never called.  It was at this point that I called, Ms. Joanne Bivona, who had been listed as the original supervisor of the first claim agent who had never contacted me.

She was aware of my case from Ms. Bennet and repeated the issue with The Port Authority and explained that the underwriting department had decided how  the car was to be repaired with assent from the appraiser.  She also expressed the view that only one side of the car needed to be repaired but promised to have the appraiser call me.  The car was in the shop for a number of days and never visited by any appraiser from your company.

More than a week has gone by since this event, and little or no progress except disputes have transpired.  In many cases your agents have not even bothered to call me.  The response such as it has been is quite inadequate.  No automotive repair shop has yet to take your position of limited right side repairs.  I am upset as a policy holder and certainly do  entertain the idea of small claims court action given your response of date.
I must tell you that I would never have expected this type of behavior from a company of your size and reputation.

    Yours....
    Henry Citron, Ph.D.

    same thing
I was rear ended by a driver a year ago. I insteantly call liberty mutal who was my provider. I have had them as a dual insurance company for years and have never filed a claim. I was told that they would be the ones to decided who was at fault. really, I was stopped behind a red light and was rear ended. The personal on the other line preceided to say that my insurance  premiums will go up... nedless to say I switch insurance companies. I know have  higher coverage on both my home and vehicles and my payments have dropped considerably. The major problem...liberty mutal was not to happy when I switched ins. companies and the rep had told me that we might be able to help you again when you realize that the new company is not what they seam. What ever i was think, and how rude was the other thought on my mind. 6 weeks later I received a bill, so I called and asked for explaination. I was told that I didnt cancel out on time and I now owe them. the funny thing is that the bill due was higher than my montly payments. I was told that it was due to the partial monthly premium and the prior bill. I asked to speak to my adjuster, I was surprised to find out that he retired 2 years prior. I refused to pay and now I am in collection. I am still fighting... I will never use them again !!!!!

My wife was t-boned by an insured of Liberty Mutual over six years ago. The other driver was cited for running the red light. Our car was totaled and my wife was taken to the local trauma center. My wife has undergone three surgeries and was told never to expect her ankle to be the same. They jacked us around and never offered to settle with us. We finally retained a lawyer a week before the statute of limitations was to run out (three years after the accident). They have never given us a penny and now they say they are not liable for my wifes injuries!! I can only sum it up by saying I believe they have no intent on ever paying for the wrong that has befallen us, and all the while we pay mandatory car insurance! If it wasn't for the fact that I have health insurance we would be broke and homeless.

In order to get immediate help from the insurance company, you must file a law suit against the other driver.

I am insured by Liberty Mutual for my homeowners insurance. I had a fire in my home. They  assigned an agent to my claim whose name is Robyn Malone from one of thier connecticut offices together with her manager Theresa Duncan and their manager Chris Duffy. between the three of them money was withheld from my payments with no clear explanation, when I evoked my right to an independent appraisalas process which is stated in my policy they stonewalled me until thtee days before the statute of limitations was up on my claim upon which I filed a lawsuit against them.  it's over 2 years now and I still hav not gotten the payment due to me as stated in my policy. My recommendation to anyone considering homeowners insurance with Liberty Mutual do not sign on the dotted line with them unless being ripped off, lied to, manipulated and conned is what your up for. If you have a claim they do not take responsibility as your insurer, they will try to discourage you from collecting on your claim and they have many years of experience in how to do just that.

I have had LM for over 4 yrs. have not been in an accident for over 20 yrs. I was pulling out of a parking space, when a guy flew into the space next to mine. The guy told both his & my insurance co. that they were parked. Thats not true. Today i received a letter from LM that I was 51% or over at fault & that my good driver discount is out the window & my rates are going up. This is crap, I wasnt at fault, & have never filed a claim. Im going to change companys. After reading all these messages above, im glad to be switiching, because obviouly if this was an accident in which i was hurt, I would be dealing with stuff like you folks.. I wont be dealing with this company again.

A LEAST TWO DECADES AND THOUSANNDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. NO COMPANY IS BIGGER THAN THE LAW.THEY DO NOT PAY THEIR CLIENTS AND VIOLATE CONSUMERS RIGHTS AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT.COME ON PEOPLE YOU KNOW THEY ARE PADDING SOMEONE'S POCKET .THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER INVESTIGATION AND EXPOSED FOR THE FRAUDS THAT THEY ARE!!! IF EVERYONE START CALLING NEW INVESTIGATERS LIKE THE SHOW DATELINE THEY WILL LISTEN, IT TAKES EVERYONE TO DO IT. THEN LIBERTY MUTUAL WILL BE EXPOSED. LIBERTY MUATAL IS NO DIFFERENT THAN BERNIE MADOFF!!!

OMG.  Your are a lawyer?  Try spell check or get your secretary to do your typing for you because yours is terrible.  Why would anyone trust you or your company when you cannot spell and you don't even attempt to use proper English?

I am dealing with there work/comp division now and have been for the past 14 years, I was injured back in 2002  in Michigan, but lived and worked out of Texas. Not knowing any workers comp laws liberty mutual specifically told me because my company was in Texas that I had to go by Texas Law. Come to find out that 12 years later that was a big fat lie. To make a long store short I hired an attorney in 2013 and am still fighting it to day. But this time I will be taking them to court and have a jury trial with 68 witnesses of there lies.

After reading this im shopping for a new company
you pay for insurance to protect you from financial hardship, not to make it worse

If you are shopping for a good insurance company do not contact Liberty Mutual Insurance.  I had a claim
for our air conditioning unit which was struck by lighting during a bad electrical storm.  I contacted them and they give me a claim number which is useless.  They sent out some idiot to investigate the unit and make his report.  The gentlemen came to our home and never give us a business card with his name, or phone number for him.  He said that our unit was not installed correctly.  I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I was involved in an accident with a Liberty Mutual insured driver last Friday. He made a left turn into my lane when i had right of way right in front of me and caused the accident. Liberty Mutual told me that their driver was at fault but said they were going to only pay 90% of the cost to fix my vehicle, HOW IS THIS RIGHT????? My vehicle was damaged by their client and im still responsible for a portion of the cost to repair my vehicle.

I also have a complaint about their Work Comp area.  12/15/2012 I got hurt on the job.  Someone called an ambulance for me.  Took them almost a year to accept the fact it happened on the job, but they will not pay for the ambulance.  They paid for the hospital and care there.
