This will be my second complaint regarding the pump not working on my husky pressure washer. I supposedly recieved a response from a husky representative regarding my first complaint but the number they give me is to Ryobi... The lady I spoke to at that company had no clue what I was talking about. I am firmly convinced that they will do nothing to address my issue as I have faced an continual stream of misdirection and an outright attemt to evade any responsibility for the defective products they sell. I could not be more unhappy with the way I have been treated and how poorly my business is regarded.

I demand that you repair or replace my pressure washer at once instead of shuffling me from person to person as I have been putting up with for months now. What is wrong with you people? It should be a simple matter and I have been given so many numbers and addresses and no one seems to take responsibility. The power washer says Husky so I hold you responsible fix this issue. I am so infuriated by this whole process that I fail to see how you stay in business as poor as your service is.

IT WOULD BE IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO NEVER PURCHASE A HUSKY PRODUCT. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THE GARBAGE THE MAKE AND GIVE YOU SOME SIMULATED RESPONSE TO EVERY COMPLAINT THAT REALLY ONLY LEADS TO ANOTHER DEAD END. IF HUSKY IS INTERESTED IN MAKING THIS RIGHT THEY CAN CONTACT ME AT idaho23@msn.com I THINK IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE THEY DO THE RIGHT THING WITH THIS ISSUE.

So husky keeps trying to send me to homelite and homelite says that husky is responsible... My last contact with Husky: Notice how every response sends me to homelite but homelite always indicates that they do not support husky products.

I will never purchase another one of these Power Washers again. Hardly used
it bought it at home Depot the HU80722 in 2008. You cannot get any parts from home depot and you get the run around

I have the same power washer HU 80722. It has the same pump problem as it would appear all of this model have. I reached out to a Tinzley@carehomedepot.com and was told to contact a Denise Surls at homelite. After 8 tries and 8 very long holds to talk to a human I was transfered to Denise but reached here answering machine because she was in training all week. I called again and was told Chet would handle my problem, guess what, I got another answering machine!!!! I called again, 10th time, as was told it is lunch time we are very busy, that Chet was unavailable, and once again put on hold until I gave up and disconnected. I will NEVER BUY A HUSKY OR HOMELITE PRODUCT AGAIN.

    Husky sucks!
As usual i find myself struggling to make an inferior piece of Husky equipment work and no luck.  I have the same no water pressure issue and was informed I need to replace the pump which is out of warranty.  No suprise that the Home Cheapo brand has failed to survive little use and proper storage. I know better and got suckered into a quick cheaper purchase.  My Model is the same HU80722.

I also have the same water pressure problem with a HU80722 Husky High Pressure washer. My local Ace Hardware Service Center has offered to look at it,  but say the replacement pump could be over $300!

What a piece of junk!  NEVER BUY HUSKY AGAIN!!!

Go to Repairclinic.com and they probably have your pump for ALOT LESS than $300.00!!! I just looked up one for my 2700 and it is only $67.85!!! They have quite a few for sale and it would be lots cheaper to fix than replace the whole unit. You could possibly step up to a higher pressure to get away from that particular pump. The pump just bolts thru the engine mounting holes so as long as the shaft size is the same why not step up one pressure size? Anyone with tools and some mechanical knowledge can change out the BAD pump. I do small engine repair on the side,as I am disabled,so I look for the best repair myself. I warranty all my stuff so I DO NOT want it coming back unless it's needing something else!! Thanks and GOOD LUCK!!!!

I'm a mechanic. I see pressure washers with these problems often. Your best bet is if you don't want to spend more than 6 or 7 hundred dollars, then pay someone to do your pressure washing for you.

Wow, bought mine in 2008, got it out today (July 30, 2011), and guess what? The pump does not work, same model as the ones mentioned above and purchased from HD.  Seems like we all got taken on this.  Son in law bought his and loaned it to his brother, next summer the pump would not work.  All stored properly for winter.  Will call and see what response I get.  Thanks to all for the info on this situation.

Well, I thought I dodged a bullet and got one that worked.  I used it twice a year for three years and it worked great.   This time I used it for two hours and done.  Needs a new engine, cost: $400.00! Once bitten....

spend more money on a better p/w dont buy power products from home depot they are in the business to make money and do not care about the customer

    Mike
Well, thats not entirely true, but the truth is you get what you pay for. Like the poster above, if you are not going to buy something with a CAT pump, just pay someone else to pressure wash your house every yr. Nothing else is worth buying.
The Rigids and Dewalts ar Home Depot are really nice units with CAT pumps and can be had for around $500

Yes you get what you pay for. I would suggest you look for Horizontal mounted pumps over the vertical model pressure washers. Cats are HIGH priced.
You can get very good Comet pumps with good warranties for much less then the cat. I found that WWW.PWPUMP.COM to be very helpful with parts and new pumps.

January 28 2012...add this note to the long list of data points on this blog - Husky HU80722 power washing machine water pump goes out after very little use.  It is quite obvious the water pump is a very poor design.  A waste of a decent Honda motor.  The vertical shaft from the motor to the pump doesn't turn.  Home Depot should pull it from their shelves if they haven't already.  My wife's heartbroken - it was a Christmas present to me...

Buy 10 - not because they are cheap - but because they won't last.  Made in China perhaps?

I too have been through the same thing. Bought a model 1600  from Home Depot. 2 yrs old, used 3 or 4 times. PLASTIC sleeve broke on intake pump. Could fix it myself if one could find the parts. No more Husky for me, this one is dumpster fodder.
