I have been getting calls from 760-269-4176 that they are the Department of Legal Affairs saying they have a complaint filed against me and my Social Security number. Keep telling me that I have to call the attorney Michael Carter. When I called the number a man with a strong accent answered the phone Attorney Michael Carter, while on the phone you could clearly tell it was a call center. There was a lot of people in the background. Tried to track number and I get it's Victorville, CA.

    I received the same call on my cell phone and my work number.  I hung up on them and they called back.  The man was foreign with a thick accent.  He told me there was a law suit being filed against me.  He told me to call back and talk to a Michael Carter.  Don't give him any information!!  This is a scam!

    I am sooooooooooo glad I did a little digging and found these posts.  They just told me the same bs.  I was a little concerned since they said a law suit was filed.  I will have to let my husband know about this so he doesn't fall victim to them.

    There are call centers in India running scams just like it's a business.
    Make up stuff, call and threaten Americans, get their money.  Repeat.

    Phone callers can't be trusted for anything anymore.
