I saw a commerical on Direct Buy, looked them up online and filled out the form to set up a visit. I knew something was wrong when the Employee stated that we would need to set up a time and spend 90 minutes, for info on the store. Who needs info on the store? I have been shopping for 45 Yrs, I don't need a 90 min meeting to learn about the store- At that point, I said, I wasn't intrested and hung up. I then turned to the Internet and found out why they want to meet with you- they want to charge you an outragious membership fee- Thankfully, I never went in but I can't get them to STOP CALLING my CELL AND HOME PHONE! I have said over and over, remove me from your list and they continue to call! I am not kidding, its every 15 mins, I have saved all the incomming calls- I just called and said remove me! She hung up on me, stupid me, assumed they were calling to inform me that they had removed me but I guess they are so DESPERATE that they will not stop. Be careful- If you don't want to pay anywhere from 5000.00 to 9000.00 a yr membership fees- don't sign up on line with your phone number- they will not stop calling you!

Sounds like they are selling "timeshare" buying.

Put them on notice IN WRITING, send certified return receipt requested, that your phone number must be put on their internal Do Not Call list.

If after 30 days, they keep calling, file a complaint with FTC for the TCPA violation, and if you have to, sue them in small claims court, since TCPA includes a private right of action.

Your green card is proof they got your notice, and your cell phone records would be proof they failed to honor it.

Thanks so much! I would have never thought about sending it certified mail and having the green card as proof they recieved it.  Thanks for the help, what perfect advice.

I absolutley cannot believe all the complaints on Direct Buy. thankyou everyone for saving me from the headaches and lost money as u all have experienced. I am a single mom that rents my home and only makes big ticket purchases at tax time. I had mentioned DB to a friend and she made me aware of membership fees. That alone turned me off. And after reading all the complaints, I definately will NOT be looking to purchase from DB. Thank u all again, for the insights...MUCH appreciated!

You guys obviously dont know anything. Directbuy is a amazing club. Theyre not desperate by no means. If you want them to stop calling you, then put your name on the no call list. Not answering the calls isnt going to solve the problem. And where did you get off that the membership fees are up to 9000 dollars. THATS A LIE! Gey your facts straight before you post crap. And kim, you have truley missed out. I am a member and its the best choice I have made!!! So coming from a someone who actually knows what theyre talking about, directbuy is a great thing to look into!

Jess, I'm happy to hear that you are satisfied with Directbuy, but it certainly seems to me everywhere I look I hear 95% VERY negative experience and 5% mildly positive.  As for our family, we rent a home and spend very little money on furniture, electronics or home improvement items.  We have been receiving calls relentlessly over the last two weeks.  I have answered the calls and asked to be removed from the list 6 times.  After the first time, I have asked each person I've spoken with to pull up the information in their system to confirm our number is listed as "do not call."  Each one of them has done this and confirmed our number is in fact listed as "do not call."  They then say "I promise this will be the last call from us."  Then, as you might guess, I receive another call and go through the same routine.....I've even gone through this with two individuals twice each.
This type of practice is not something one would expect from an "amazing club" as you describe it.

I have asked them to stop calling me as well and I have no idea how they got my number in the first place. They now call me 3 times a day and I tell them to take me off their call list. They are idiots. Decided today to find ways to make it entertaining and screw with them each time they call. I'm thinking about asking them if they will accept cash over the phone...

I did look into this DirectBuy thing and it is a SCAM, they tell you they are going to give you a free laptop or ipad, that is a bunch of CRAP, you have to pay about $90.00 before you get it.  Jess, I am glad you like it, but paying $2000-$3000 is STUPID!!!!!!!  So, good luck with DirectBuy, they will be out of business very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM a member so I know what I'm talking about as well.  The idiots keep calling me to sign up for membership and have hung up, etc.... I like the FTC approach mentioned above along with terminating my membership.

I have spoken directly to them multiple times. Simply asking them to stop doesnt work. I have been getting calls for more than 5 years.

I have been recieving harassing phone calls from direct buy as well. My mother is the one that gave them my number in the first place. i have told them multiple times to take my number off the calling list and and they refuse to stop calling. I hung up on the guy and he calls back 2 minutes later and leaves harassing voicemails such as clapping into the telephone and saying 'you're real good at hanging up on people' then proceeds to call back multiple times and hang up on me! get a life DB!! It's noon on saturday as i write this and the dirt bag has already called me 12 times today. I can not find a corporate number anywhere to complain, at this point i am contacting local police!!

I just got my 20th or so call from them, the number never comes across and the man sounds foreign.  This time after i told him to stop calling he started to harass me, so I harassed him back... LMAO... over and over I beraded him for having such a suck job, etc. etc.  well he decided to just keep calling me over and over then doing the same, then said "i know your address and phone number, you better watch out" that in my mind is a threat... so I'll be filing a report with the police soon on direct buy...

DirectBuy got my number from a bridal expo and they have called me 10 times in 2 days.  I told them I wasn't interested the first time they called, but they won't stop calling me.  This is really rediculous.

Hi Ticia, I was just wondering as to which location you were receiving calls from? I am an associate here at the Direct Buy of Roswell and we recently worked at a bridal show. We have a cap on the amount of calls we can make in a given day, and also strictly adhere to putting someone on our DNC list if requested, or not calling again after a lead indicates that they are not interested. If we were the club that you received calls from please let me know as this seems very out of the ordinary. Thanks and I apologize on behalf of all Direct Buy clubs for this incident.

We have just started receiving calls from Direct Buy three days ago.  Each time, we asked the caller (she sounds like she could be Asian)...to take our number off her list and to stop calling us.  She alled back the next day about the same time...and again this evening the same time.  We have verified that our home number is still listed on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST.  We have NEVER done any business with Direct Buy nor listed our home phone any where it would make sense Direct Buy would get our number.

A few months ago I started getting calls from Direct Buy with a "BLOCKED" number coming up on my caller ID.  It is my cell, which I never use as a contact number.  After a half dozen or more of these calls, I got really angry at one of the people and threatened to contact the Feds about them.  It stopped.  Well today, it started again with two calls in a row in the last hour.  And I have my cell and home number on the DO NOT CALL list.

OMG I got a call from Directbuy like at 10PM. Well thanks god I wasnt sleeping. Well they started of about giving me a vacation to who knows where 3 days 3 nights free and a gift basket for free just to go over to their company and watch a 90 minute video. Well i was really bored and gave a false name, and a false address. Apparently they want you to make more the 50 thousand a year and be married or with someone. well i told them that i made 36,000 alone and that my bf(not real) was unemployed. Well they were like " I want to give you a hand so that you don't miss out on this special offer. I'll say that you make over 100 thousand dollars and that you are married and when you go to the company to pick up your price say that you husband is working and that you guys are homeowners." well i was surprised that they still wanted me to go. Well i went online, saw that they charge you a 5000 dollar fee for 4 years or a 400/per month for 4 years with a 17.5% interest. Well no thanks you. DID NOT Go and they called me that same day for like 6 hours straight and tried different number. with those 5000 dollars for membership fee  i could go to Mexico buy the same material i would buy in USA and basically buy myself all the tile for the floor, two or three couches, two bathrooms, some frames, mirrors, two bedrooms, and a refrigerator. thats basically all would need for my house. Plus DirectBuy only saves you if its true a couple of hundreds of dollars. like 121 or 156. Go to their website, and you'll see how much it saves u. NOT THAT MUCH. Plus if you hear members that have signed up the majority are not happy with their services and are trying to get out of their membership but can't because the contract states that you can only get out of the contact if you are not happy the first three days. Like Three days is enough to see if their membership is worth while

The call center directs their calls through IP routing and when I call the number back to see, I get a verizon wireless voice mailbox answer stating that the mailbox is full.

The number that calls is 318-562-0215
