Does anyone know the address of TITAN Group LLC?  I think they are a part of OSL Marketing.

    tj
Titan Group appears to be some payday lender.
OSL Marketing also appreas to be a payday lender.

Complaints against debt collectors associated with them show a pattern of illegal debt collection, including illegal threats of arrest, or illegal publication of information on alleged debtors.

What specifically are you dealing with?

I was contacted today at my employer 10 calls someone speaking foreign accent and a woman "Jessica Brower" and a man named David White threatening fbi to pick me up would not give me any information as to what I owe or to whom. Phone numbers 903-841-5171 and 800-804-5950, 231-577-4894 all these numbers I tried to call no answer. My last call was from Texas with "911" showing on my caller ID. I will contact police in regard to harrassment calls and threats. How can we be treated in this manner it is a shame.

They are basically con artists running an extortion racket through phony "debt collector" phone calls.

They are not debt collectors, there is no debt you owe them, you do not owe THEM any debt you might owe anyone else, and they cannot do any of the things they threaten.

Making the threats was a violation of state and federal law (FDCPA).

Pretending to be federal law enforcement agents and demanding money is a crime.

    "someone speaking foreign accent"
These criminals are variously reported to have an Indian, Pakistani, or Middle Eastern accent.

"a man named David White threatening fbi to pick me up "
"David White" is typical of their improbable alias names.  They are commonly reported to threaten arrest, jail, fraud charges, or lawsuits, claiming to be with some government agency, or to be "attorneys".  All lies.

Owing money, even defaulting on a loan, is not a crime.  FBI doesn't deal with it, although you should probably file a complaint with them since they are using their name.

"My last call was from Texas with "911" showing on my caller ID."
That indicates they are spoofing Caller Id.  They are trying to create the appearance they are "law enforcement".  They are criminals.

    "Phone numbers 903-841-5171 and 800-804-5950, 231-577-4894 "

Complaints similar to yours against this number go back to summer 2009.
    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-903-841-5171

    A sample of their B.S.
"Officer Frank Jones of a U.S. Crime prevention Unit"
"Officer Robert Leachman from the US Crime prevention union "
"got a call regarding a friend of mine and he told me if I did not get her to call I would be suit as a grantor of the loan "
"The women caller's accent was so thick, I could barely understand the message."
" officer from US Investigation Bureau.  He has a heavy ?Carribean accent "

Complaints just started against this number.
    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-231-577-4894

No complaints against this number:  "800-804-5950".

In light of evidence of caller id spoofing, this may be a spoofed number as well, or they may have just begun using it.  An "800" number makes them look more "legitimate", but they are still a scam.

"I will contact police in regard to harrassment calls and threats."

Do it.  Also contact a local reporter to do a story on TV or in your newspaper.  That will alert anyone else in your area that they might try to scam.

I have gotten several call from these people saying in owe someone 389$ i don't owe anyone and they couldn't even tell me who i owed he just said his name was Shawn Michael and investagators will be at my house tomorrow to serve me papers for something i don't owe. he said something about Cashnet.com.. i don't owe them.. anyone can help me i am tired of them calling me.

No one, not even a debt collection law firm, would be sending "investigators" to your home "tomorrow" over $389.

Since they did contact you, they now have 5 days to send you a letter required by FDCPA that notifies you of your right to dispute the alleged debt.  Failing to do so is a violation of FDCPA, and you can sue them for it.

Since they claimed they had sued you (that is what "serving papers" was intended to mean), if they actually did not sue you, then they threatened or claimed to have done something they did not, cannot, or had no intention to do.  That is a violation of FDCPA, and you can sue them for it.

If you do get served (highly unlikely), get an attorney and respond.  You know you don't owe any such debt, and a good consumer attorney may be able to sue THEM for the FDCPA violations, for statutory damages and attorney fees.

More likely, as other complaints indicate, this isn't even a debt collector, just some con artists using the name of a payday loan company to try to extort money from the people they call.

    "Shawn Michael"
Similar to other aliases they are reported to use.

The more threatening, and illegal the threats, the more likely it is simply fraud.

File an attempted fraud complaint with FTC, and your state Attorney General.

If you want to stop their calls, next time they call, just tell them you are recording the call for use as evidence (might as well do so), and let them talk all they want.  They may curse and threaten, but there is no point in continuing the calls when they know you know what they are up to.

Their threats are illegal, and they cannot have you "arrested".

All they can do is threaten, including intimidation through threatening to embarrass you in front of your employer or coworkers.  They don't need any "notarized letter for payment", they are just trying to sound authoritative, like they are connected to some "attorney".  Any real attorney pulling this crap could be sued and disbarred.

All B.S.  They are just liars and con artists.

Your debt collector BS loses all credibility in a thread dealing with known swindlers and con artists.  It just makes you look like one of them.

ML Marketing is the worst, they threated my daughter with the Department of Justice and jail time if she didn't pay back a loan she never took out in the first place. This company is a sham and thats to say the least about them.  None of the persons that were calling her could speak clearly enough to be understood, any clue how to keep them from this awful behavior?

"ML Marketing" used to be some payday loan network that went bust.  They used a debt collector in the Jacksonville FL area that had an Indian call center.  The debt collector was shut down by the Florida Attorney General for abusive collection several years ago.

They appear to be just a bunch of criminals using that name calling from India.  There are some indications there are telemarketing call centers in India running this scam, possibly getting information on U.S. consumers through phony "payday loan" websites or by pulling consumer credit reports.

They can't carry out their threats.

If they call again, fish for how they want the money paid.
    Western Union?
    MoneyGram?
    Walmart prepaid debit card?

so i got a payday loan from dj marketing in january '10 then started noticing $90 payments out of my bank acct. everyother week. I have been getting threatening calls from a male with a ver hard to understand middle eastern accient "John Smith" and some officer stating that i was being charged with four felonies and would be arrested at my job within 48 hours if i did not pay $445 with my debit card which i foolishly did. All the while he had also called my manager and harassed and any other coworkers that would answer the phone telling them i was going to be arrested for bank fraud. Well, long story short my husband noticed our checking acct was unusually low. We did some research and noticed $4162.00 has been debited out of our acct in the last 3WEEKS!! Supposidly some branch of lazer lending. Mind you my original loan was $300!! I reported this fraud to my bank and they are investigating. BEWARE!!!!

This has become an increasingly common extortion racket.

File complaints with FTC, your state Attorney General, FBI, and at www.ic3.gov

Report all phone numbers, and all threats.

As you mentioned, the elderly can be particularly vulnerable to these threats.

This is a common "payday loan" bank theft racket.

They get your bank account information through an on-line application, establish the appearance of a "payday loan" with a deposit, then in a couple weeks not only take the money back, but keep taking it, claiming it is for "fees and interest only" on an "interest only loan" at an equivelent APR often higher than 900%.

In many cases they have been reported to either not disclose the actual exorbitant terms, or to start the fake "loan" drain under a different name without any consumer agreement to procees.

They generally do NOT have state licensing as payday lenders, rendering their "loan contracts" void in many states on top of violation of state usury laws.  On an illegal "payday loan" to an unlicensed lender, all you would actually owe them under state law is return of their original principal, and they have already taken far more than that.  Their fake "officers", "fraud investigators", or "debt collectors" will make all sorts of threats to keep the payments coming, since it's all free money to them, but if you buy that, you will NEVER be off the hook.

In particular, the pattern matches complaints against "CMG Group" and related names, supposedly based off-shore, but reported to use shady "debt collectors" operating out of Nevada.  You might contact the Kansas City, MO BBB for more information, as apparently they are using mail drops in that city, resulting in numerous complaints funnelled through there.

It's basically a fraud and extortion racket, wrapped as a "payday loan".

Immediately contact your bank to dispute all the charges as fraudulent, and shut down your account due to fraud, or they will keep taking your money.

File fraud and bank theft complaints with the FBI, Secret Service, FTC, and your state Attorney General.

Be wary of payday loans everyone! Apparently, an internet marketer has been charged of fraudulent behavior in a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) complaint. As reported by the grievance, the business debited customers' accounts
without consent. The charges claim that customers were charged for things they didn’t want when they went to a website seeking a payday advance.

Article <a title="FTC charges marketer with fraudulent practices"href="http://personalmoneynetwork.com/moneyblog/2011/08/03/ftc-charges markerter/">FTC charges marketer with fraudulent practices</a>

See it for yourself! I think each of us should be aware of the disadvantages of having payday loans trusted over the internet. You can't really trust online cash payments, unless you see it for yourself. It takes a lot of management in order to avoid frauds such as these. Don't you think so?
