This company (or scam) is pulling my credit report unauthorized!  How can I stop them from doing this?

    If you look at your report, you will see a lot of Banks checking you report for the same reason, to send  you a pre-approved credit card offer.

      I have NEVER had a bank, pull a credit inquiry without my permission or for a "pre-approved" or "promotional offer.  So that, is a load of crap to say that someone will see lots of banks doing the same thing

      You're so right, companies and yes banks do this all the time in order to check for pre- approval offers for people. It's normal and it doesn't affect your credit score unless you decide to act on it and apply for the credit. If people don't want companies checking their reports for credit offers then they can always put their name on the opt out list.

    got me too.  My question is why are unauthorized credit checks with the intent of "just finding out" your financial situation  to see if  you qualify to tget a credit card with us permitted  Esperian reported me dead last month when I applied for a card. On their report it says reason for credit approved-unspecified.

    you can call # 1-888-567-8688 as this is the national number to limit "pre-screened offers" on your credit.

    Please refrain from this practice.  This is private information and you are not requested by the consumer to send or do anything that we have not initiated.  Will report as fraud.  There is enough information that is being hacked, that a company such as yours should realize the sensitivity to the matter

    Experian shows two UNAPPROVED credit checks 10/14/13 and 03/28/14.  This needs to stop NOW!  I will NEVER do business with Figi or Fashion Bug.  If I find anymore UNAPPROVED credit checks, I will hire a lawyer and come after you.

      Depends on the inquiry type.. replies to Cindy
      If the inquiries were "promotional", they were basically Experian selling lists of names and addresses, without including credit information.  They can do that without your permission as long as no credit information is transferred, unless you "opt out".

      Other inquiries require specific permissible purposes.  For example, to pull your credit report, either you would have to have authorized it in connection with an application for credit, or it could be in connection to debt collection.
