As a seasoned veteran of being on the receiving end of collection agency correspondence, I have always been weary when someone calls with threats to either visit my place of employment (a neat trick considering I am retired) or come to my home (which is tantamount to suicide). I will continue to ignore such individuals and encourage anyone reading this to do the same by carefully screening their phone calls and never answering calls from 800, 866 or 888 area codes. Also, NEVER return any calls made from any individual stupid enough to leave threatening messages, doing so may be interpreted as acknowledgement of fraudulent debt and could weaken any lawsuit or counteraction. When in doubt, call your local Better Business Bureau. Usually, a straight answer is found there.

    I just received a phone call from this company as well.  It was a 866 number.  The message they left was very intimidating.  They said it was a matter of urgency and that I have been notified.  I did not find anything about them on BBB.

    Just received a message from them and a phone call on both my cell and work phone. I hung up on them and they called me back leaving an intimidating message about serving me at home or work and needing to have two types of id and a supervisor sign off on my identity for a supposed payday loan of 350.00 in Jan of 2013, which I never have done. They want collection cost of 1459.00 and will set up a payment plan if I would like to call him back and have a "civil conversation like a grown up".Better business bureau has no ifo on them.

    I received a call from AMSG & Assoc. yesterday as well, at WORK ,and am very confused whether it is legit.  They had a lot of my personal information and stated I owed on a pay day loan from 3 years ago and w/ interest I supposedly owe twice as much now. Calling to settle.  I did receive loans at that time (NO MORE! Total BS) but I paid them back and haven't heard word boo since.  Of course now I have a different bank so I am trying to find the transaction info from the bank and had to order it since it is so old. Either way, it will be confusing because they are off shore lenders that show up as weird and not always consistent names w/ the bank. They say if I don't settle it will likely go to court and cost 4x as much as the original loan.  I gave them my cell and asked him to call that but today he called my work again.  Really don't know what to do about it. Hoping to find answers from the bank statements.

      I received a threatening message same number called back when I refused to verify my social they had they said see u in court. I called back and asked for a letter mailed to verify and she claimed a bunch have been sent which I haven't seen

      They can access pay day loan's database to gain info and try to confuse you into paying a loan that you already paid.  Jerks!!

    I just received a message as well and they hung up on me and told me I was acting like a baby and everytime I called back they hung up and the one lady called me a [***]

    This 866 number is calling the office multiple times with a recoding. It is harissment.

    I just received 4 missed calls in a row from this same company (Amsg & Associate's). After listening to the voice mail and reading your posts, I'm pretty sure this is a scam. I was scammed once before and I promised myself Never Again.

      You must work for these people. I have never had a payday loan in my life nor do I owe anyone money. It is a scam!!!

    My 81 year old mother was just harrassed and threatened by someone claiming to be from this company and wanted her to tell me legal matter i live 580 miles away from my mother i have no mail or bills from this company when i called this number and threatened to sue them i was hung up on. Disgusting human beings

    Just received a call. When I returned the call. I was asked my ssn. When I said that I would not state it over the phone, they immediately hung up.

    Just received a voicemail message from my cell statement a matter of urgent importance and that I need to call 866-296-7712 ASAP.  They stated that they were AMSG and Associates.  After reading this post, I have blocked them from calling me.

      I got a call about a month ago stating I owed 400.00 from a payday loan...its a scam don't fall for it

    As someone whose identity was stole from an employer I get literally dozens of payday loan approvals monthly which I have never applied for and receive multiple threatening calls and emails. Allegedly I have arrest warrants pending in FLorida but if I pay a fine they will drop the charges I have also been called with a date and time of someone coming to arrest me, as well as someone coming to my place of employment which is perfect since I no longer work DO NOT give any personal information and don't be surprised if family members get these calls about you everyone in my wireless billing group received the threatening calls too

    I received threatening calls from AMSG & Associates stating that if I do not comply to their calls they will issue a warrant for my arrest and contact my work.  I have not received anything in the mail from something I owe back in 2012.

    A recorded call telling me to call immediately....NOT!!!!!

    The same exact thing... called 8 times in a row!!! Threatening me with my personal info and that they would see me in court.
