The trigger gun on these washers is a common design.  They are really quite simple and CAN be repaired; in spite of what Husky says!

There should be 10 screws in the body of the gun.  Detach the wand and hose.  Lay flat on a bench, and remove the screws.  The body will still be in place due to integral plastic clips between the two housings.  Just pry them apart once the screws have been removed.

NOTE!

Karcher sells a gun that has no screws.  Instead they fasten the halves with plastic melted over where the screws should be.  These can be drilled out with a little care and replaced with screws.

Once the two halves are separated you will see the inlet pipe, a coupler, the trigger, and the discharge tube.  Amongst these are two springs, the trigger lock, and the hose retainer (the latter two are colored red).  The long thin spring is used to push the trigger back in place and is readily visible.  The short fat spring goes in the large end of the intake tube.  That then slips over the coupler with a little lithium grease.  The trigger MUST go between the coupler and the intake pipe, NOT between the coupler and the discharge pipe..  The coupler then goes to the discharge pipe with a little lithium grease.

Once you have the seal replaced and it's all grease up and parts in place just press the two halves together and replace the screws.

When replacing the screws in the soft plastic it helps to turn the screw back wards until you feel it drop into the former thread then thighten from there.  his will keep you from cross threading the screws.

Wands are a little easier.  Little can go wrong with the wands.  If they are clogged, mud daubers LOVE to pack them with mud, you can try back pressure but you may have to disassemble it to get a wire to clear it properly.

Just use a small screw driver to remove the red rectangle from the head and unscrew the head.

Hoses that have problems are best to replace.  If you have a split in the tubes in your gun or wand you will have to replace that too.  THERE IS NO WAY TO REPAIR A RUPTURED PRESSURE TUBE OF ANY KIND!

If you have questions or concerns my contact info is on my first post about repair of the pump unit.

Good Luck to you, it'll be easy.

Our gun on Husky 1750 started to gush water out of it. So my husband opened it up and sure enough the small o ring was broken. He bought one that looks just like it at Ace. Started up the washer and it lasted a couple seconds and water started gushing out of gun again. Checked o ring and it is ok. Any suggestions? I read that you need a high pressure o ring and that it has to be EXACT size. ?????

I had the same problem!  None of the replacement washers worked.  I found a blog that identified a superior replacement gun/wand for this unit (Husky 1750).  This replacement is universal in design and fits MOST electric power washers: http://electricreplacementgun.blogspot.com/

The nozzle part that holds the bit is stuck in the down position. I can not get it to slide up to lock bit in place.  What do I do?  I took off the snap ring but still nothing.

The factory uses threadlock  to assemble, put some muscle into it.

    @Husky Fixer:
"The trigger MUST go between the coupler and the intake pipe, NOT between the coupler and the discharge pipe.. "

In my humble opinion, there is NO WAY that can happen.  The trigger has a molded stud that fits into a molded hole in the housing - and so does the intake pipe.  WHen you position them without the coupler - it is obvious to me that the trigger can only fit between the coupler and the discharge pipe.

If you managed to do that - I'd really like to see a photo of the assembly, but sadly complaintwire.org does not allow attachments.  Can you post your photo to a public gallery [like outlook skydrive, flickr, etc] and reply with the link?  Much appreciated - Jim

I was having trouble with my husky trigger .the trigger would not engage valve so I took gun apart by removing all screws and pulling apart . I taped a dime using black elec tape to the end of trigger that engages valve. Then put gun back together and it works fine .it only cost me a dime.
