The trigger gun on these washers is a common design.  They are really quite simple and CAN be repaired; in spite of what Husky says!

There should be 10 screws in the body of the gun.  Detach the wand and hose.  Lay flat on a bench, and remove the screws.  The body will still be in place due to integral plastic clips between the two housings.  Just pry them apart once the screws have been removed.

NOTE!

Karcher sells a gun that has no screws.  Instead they fasten the halves with plastic melted over where the screws should be.  These can be drilled out with a little care and replaced with screws.

Once the two halves are separated you will see the inlet pipe, a coupler, the trigger, and the discharge tube.  Amongst these are two springs, the trigger lock, and the hose retainer (the latter two are colored red).  The long thin spring is used to push the trigger back in place and is readily visible.  The short fat spring goes in the large end of the intake tube.  That then slips over the coupler with a little lithium grease.  The trigger MUST go between the coupler and the intake pipe, NOT between the coupler and the discharge pipe..  The coupler then goes to the discharge pipe with a little lithium grease.

Once you have the seal replaced and it's all grease up and parts in place just press the two halves together and replace the screws.

When replacing the screws in the soft plastic it helps to turn the screw back wards until you feel it drop into the former thread then thighten from there.  his will keep you from cross threading the screws.

Wands are a little easier.  Little can go wrong with the wands.  If they are clogged, mud daubers LOVE to pack them with mud, you can try back pressure but you may have to disassemble it to get a wire to clear it properly.

Just use a small screw driver to remove the red rectangle from the head and unscrew the head.

Hoses that have problems are best to replace.  If you have a split in the tubes in your gun or wand you will have to replace that too.  THERE IS NO WAY TO REPAIR A RUPTURED PRESSURE TUBE OF ANY KIND!

If you have questions or concerns my contact info is on my first post about repair of the pump unit.

Good Luck to you, it'll be easy.

I have the Husky 1750 powerwasher & the handle leaks badly. I was about to replace it & thought it may just be the O ring. Does anyone know where I can find the O ring? It is not on the hose or handle unless it came off. Also, what is the size of the O ring if I need to replace it?

Excellent recommendation John!  Your blog recommendation - http://electricreplacementgun.blogspot.com/ - was spot on!  I, too, researched this issue extensively and I can corroborate the solution found in the blog that you alerted us to.  (Thank you again because I would have purchased an inferior universal replacement gun/wand [again] - meaning more money thrown down the drain!)

O-rings may be found at almost any autoparts or hardware store.  If you don't know the size, just take the wand to the store with you.....

My wand was sticking in the on position as well.  I removed the screws, pulled apart the connectors and used plumbing grease on the spring that pushes the actuator closed.  Actually, I greased all the o-rings, and moving parts inside the wand just to make it smoother. It works great now!

Does O-ring have different pressure ratings? e.g., one can handle 1000 psi or higher?

Thanks a lot for this post. I would have been buying a new one If I didn't find this with important "hints" (like getting that small "strong" spring inside the tube). Thanks again!
