Today I received a call from the company noted above while getting into my car.  I was told I could make up to $38K by issuing refunds to people whom had paid off their mortgages and could make $400-$800 per refund proc'd while working at home.  I was leary of giving out my credit card info so had asked if they could send or email me the info for my review before committing to the $69 (+10 for S&H) charge to receive the package and was told not to call the Customer Service Line until after I both received and reviewed the 'white 8 X 10 envelope'.  Immediately after hanging up I knew I had gobe against my better judgement so once I got home I googled "GMI Enterprises - a legit company" and was prompted with a list of attached scams associated with this name and with same details/story line they had provided me.  Please use caution should you receive a call from this company.  If I had waited the 7-10 days to recieve the info they would have already collected the money by then.

We got a call at home from  GMI today.  When I asked Alyssa for more information to check them out before we spent any money I thought she seemed a little defensive.  I figured a legit company would welcome a person to check them out before spending any money.  Then I came across this website.  Thank you to all of you have informed others of your experience.  We will not be calling back to order this packet.

I signed up for the GMI Enterprises Home owners refund program.  I waited 10 days to get my manual which never showed up, so I got suspicious and went online to Wikipedia.  This is what I learned, IT IS A SCAM!!!  I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I GAVE THEM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT NO. OVER THE PHONE.

I was told by my bank that I would have to close out my account because this company has my checking account number!  This is going to be a real hazzle as I have automatic check withdrawl and deposit from my pension, medicare, social security, Pet Insurance,Curves.

This is the rule, "If it sounds too good to be true, it is!"  Never, never, never give your credit card or checking account number over the phone for anything unless you personally know the company and even then it is a good practice to not do that.  Unethical people are using the internet solely for the purpose to scam and make money.  They usually move on after using these fraudulent companies and stay many times ahead of the law. I thought I was too smart to ever be scammed but my eagerness to get a job and work online clouded my better judgment.  I hope this prevents YOU FROM LOSING MONEY AND TIME AS IT HAS COST ME.

Looks like we got scammed too by this company.  We'd like the guaranteed refund, but the stipulation that you have to have a page from the HUD listr of borrowers, which will cost more than the initial payment that we want refunded.  Has anyone succeeded in getting a refund?

I was waiting on the phone with the Adobe Co. when another call clicked in and it was from a company called GMI.  The woman was very pushy and wanted me to send $79 to their company in order to process gov't HUD refunds to homeowners.  I proceeded to ask the customer service rep questions about GMI, its owners or owner and the customer service rep clammed up.  She would not give me any information about the owner of GMI only that his first name is Steve and that she wasn't allowed to give out any other information.  When I asked the customer service rep if she could give me a number where I could call her back, she hung up on me.  VERY BOGUS!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!  VERY FRAUDULENT!!!

Yep, I got scammed too. I even told the first operator that I talked to that I was very leary of taking the offer because it sounded fishy and I have become so cynical of everyone lately. Her response to that was that her sister does it part time to stay home with her kids and makes money with it. Lying witch! I haven't seen or heard anything since. At least I did not give them my banking account number and I can get a different pre-paid visa card easily enough. I will help spread this word through on-line chat rooms that I am affiliated with. And just for the record the number I have for them is 503-946-5949. And YOU GO ALICIA!!!

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU PEOPLE LIVES THEIR LIFE TO COMPLAIN.  NO ONE SCAMMED ANYONE.  THEY PROVIDE THE INFORMATION AND THE KNOW HOW IN ORDER TO MAKE MONEY GETTING HOME OWNERS THEIR REFUNDS.  THEY ALSO GIVE YOU THE INFORMATION IN ORDER TO OBTAIN HUD LISTINGS ON YOUR OWN.  YOU ARE PAYING FOR GUIDANCE IN MAKING YOUR OWN MONEY.  EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU HAS NO REAL COMPLAINT EXCEPT YOU NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH IT.  IT'S $79 FOR GODS SAKE.  YOU ARE STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS, MAYBE YOU SHOULD ALL CONSIDER GOING BACK TO WORK AT K-MART FOR $6 AN HOUR INSTEAD.

I got the same call on 2/23/09.  When I asked the company name, the lady said GMI Enterprises out Oregon (971-285-3130)I am going to refer the info to HUD. I asked what gets you for $69 fee--she said CD, manuals and the form packages. The call came at my work line )how they got it I do not know. I looked at my caller ID and the tel# this call from was 818-870-8191. Anytime someone says the only way you can pay is through credit card over the phone -it is a scam.

It is a shame that everyone does not know about you before they get sucked into illegal schemes like this.  Perhaps, more complaints should be made to everyone, i.e., the U.S. Post Office, federal law enforcement, Congress, the President!  You can be sure that I am going to start with a trip to the U.S.Post Office with the card I received from them and notes I made including the customer service number I was given by the operator I spoke with so that I could reach someone for customer support if I had any trouble!  Fortunately for me, my son knew about you and told me in time for me to contact my bank to stop payment and cancel my card to deter any additional activity by them, but it is a nuisance to have to get another card and pay a service charge for someone else's illegal activity!
