I bought a new house in October 2011.  I bought all new furniture for the entire house at Value City.  One of the items purchased was a headboard that also had a bed frame connected.  Very different and I like it, plus it was on sale.  When I first dressed the bed, our first night in the house, I had some pillow shames that I just laid over the headboard.  The headboard is massive in length and covers almost the entire wall, pretty big.  The shams matched the comforter and just looked like more decorations.  One day about two months later I decided to use the shams.  When I lifted them I saw all these little bugs cluttered together under both of them.  Of course I removed them.  Then I started to see small blood spots in my bed.  I blamed it on the dog at first.  Then I started to itch on my arms like crazy.  Small little bumps came out.  I went to the doctor and was told it was my nerves.  I woke up one night to go to the bathroom, tossing and turning was my norm after moving into the house but I never knew why, just accepted that it was me.  When I turned on the light before getting back into bed, I saw all of these small bugs that I first thought was ticks.  I thought bed bugs were this microscopic little bugs.  Well let me tell you, they are, but they grow into these larger bugs that to me look like ticks.  I contacted an exterminator to inspect - they told us we were infected.  We have to take out all of our clothes and put into industrial trash bags and put outside so the heat of the day will kill them.  I have been washing my bedding everyday in hot water and drying.  Guess what?  Now my machines are infected and I can't wash in them until they are treated.  Today we are removing clothes from closets and drawers, taking pictures down, and packing up nick nacks like we are moving again.  Treatment starts tomorrow!!!!!!!  I spent hundreds on pesticides trying to do this myself.  Now the service is over one thousand to have my entire house exterminated.  Plus, I signed up for quarterly protection from here on out that will cost me &500/yearly.

    I recently brought a couch from VCF on Route 40 (in MD) & It has bed bugs. What do I do? Will they replace it?

      I contacted the store of course they deny it and were very rude. I have contacted the BBB, they have sent the complaint I am waiting for a response from VCF, I really like the furniture.  I requested a refund only because I am afraid the same thing will happen again if they do offer to replace it.

        I just bought a new furniture bedroom set and found bed bugs also. I came on here to see if this is a common problem. Im also filing a complaint to the BBB and have pictures after it was delivered to prove it.

    yes, I recently bought a bedroom set from VCF in Lanham, MD approximately around May.  But now dealing with bedbugs as we speak, thought someone might have brought them in my house at first.  My rental office did do the treatments.  But why this morning, found bedbugs in my new bedroom set from VCF, and now read all of this.  We all need to get together and file a serious complaint against Value City Furniture.  I have bought a living room set as well.  And October will only make a year that I have been living in my apartment.

    I bought new furniture from vcf and my daughter a new bedroom set and boxspring she already had a mattress and had been sleeping on it with no issues after I got my furniture and her bed everything was fine until I took the plastic off her boxspring now she keeps waking up with multiple bites all over her body and face I thought it might have been dust mites so I washed all the bedding and she still was getting bitten I know it has to be from that bed and boxspring and I intended to have them pay for this and give me a refund after I call somebody out to check for bed bugs I refuse to pay all this money for new furniture and b infested

      I have been living in my apartment  for 2 years and never had a incident about bed bugs and I decided that it was time for a new bed room set and I say this lovely bedroom set at VCF and purchased it and everything was fine for awhile and recently I started waking up tossing and turning but I thought that it was just me and how I sleep and my body was itching all over and I thought it was my laundry detergent so I tryed other detergents and the problem only grew worse and the itching increased with larger bumps so I went to my friends house and he noticed all the soars on my arms and I told him about the itching on my back and legs also and he loojed at it and said they look like bed bugs and u need to get in contact with an exterminator and who will pay for all this ? Will VCF

        Value City won't pay nothing.I bought amattees and base got bed bugs they won't do anything.Said I could have picked them up food shopping I must of bumped into someone

    I thought I was going mad.  Soon after the delivery of my sectional and headboard, footboard and rails from VCF, my room became infested with bed bugs.  I am mad as hell...nothing good came out of the purchase from VCF and I will never, ever purchase anything else from them...the worst experience ever.  Not only the damn bed bugs, but the whole experience and incompetence of the staff from Sales to CS.  Best believe that I will let everyone know of my experience and will surely advise them of the BED BUGS.  Pissed!!!

    When you purchase furniture from  value city furniture from a store in PA, MD. Does it all come from the same place, a warehouse?
