Unknown caller called with a pre-recorded message from 44-208-831-2488 (or 442088312488). He offered to lower our interest rate on our credit cards. The message says to hit 1 to talk to a live person or 2 to be removed. The removal doesn't work. I pressed 2 to be removed the very first time they called but they continue to call.

The calls seem to originate in UK, but these days you never know. In any case, beware! They might be phishing for credit card information.

    I've got the 442087926040 too the 15th of may (and another time some days ago too), but someone talking french answered to me, he asked for things I have to sale on the internet, but I didnt wanted to say anything to this person, because that seemed so strange and thinked of some kind of fraud thing...I'm from Trois-Rivières Quebec.

    Getting calls from this number +442087926040. Today it has called like 20 times. Did not pick up. If they call again I will, getting mad about this.

    +442087921030 this number called me- I am in CA and it was at 5:20pm. My phone didn't even fully, it just started to ring and quickly stopped. Decided to google the 442-08 and found this site.

    I just got the phone call this very morning of the 1st January .. it was not a good thong AT LOT .. now I'm happy I googled the number and found this page 'cause I was starting to get worry about it. I got like 10 calls, I picked up the first ones but the were no one. I'm in Austria. Weird ... By the way Happy 2009 to all of you !

    Happening here today the 7th, in ND, same number. Called my phone about 8 times, maybe french on the other end.

    I got about 20 calls from the number +442087926040 in the last 40 minutes ! I live in Liechtenstein, don't kno where they got my number ?!?

    Do I get a horrendous bill if I call them ?

    I got about 5 calls today from that number in Canada (British Columbia).  The first time, a woman said "Hello", in a neutral North American English tone.  Then she hung up.  Subsequent calls have had nobody there or silent.   I tried calling the number using my skype but it tells me the number doesn't exist.

    I got a call from that number .. came from Calfornia .. I was at Gander .. Newfoundland .. I said hello but no one answered .. weird .. be careful ..

    I just got a call from this number, went to message, my name clearly comes up when my voice mailbox gets engages, it's a british female voice
    "hello john, this is stella, I'm just ringing to see how you are, that is all" then she hangs up.......wierd
    I don't know if this is a scam? could it be? trying to phish to get my phone number? they already have it though?
