You are dealing with a "health product" cramming scam.

Dispute unauthorized charges through your bank, and block the card number or close the account due to fraud to prevent additional fraudulent charges.  Follow up with a written dispute or fraud affidavit sent to your bank's dispute address.

Do NOT waste your time trying to get your money back from any scam through the scammer.  Always immediately file a bank dispute, as that is usually the only way you will ever get your money back.  If you leave your account or card number active, you can expect additional monthly charges, probably around $58 to $150, until you get wise and shut it down.  The couple buck charge was just a teaser to get your account number, and a test that it was valid.

The game they will play is to try to delay your bank dispute past the 60 day FRB Reg. E or FCBA dispute period, after which your bank will be unlikely to be able to get your money back.  To do this they will use various excuses, like "mailing an information packet" that never comes, "cancelling your membership" but they lose the "cancellation" so monthly charges continue, requiring you to get, and send in, a "refund request" that never has any effect, having to call a "refund number" that is ignored, or the cancellation "lost", etc...

      Hi,

This company also took money from my accounts and unfortunately, as this is not an account I often use, it took me few months to realize and they aloready took $170 from me.

I contacted my bank and they called them directly while I was with the fraud councelor, they agreed without any discussion that these payments were not valid and promised to return my money. This seems a bit too easy so I will wait to make sure that they really return my money. Otherwise the call has been registered so I will contact them again through my bank.

This is apparently a company that is linked to ProActiv and they received my bank account through them without my authorization. Without saying that I never received anything from them. If you ever ordered ProActiv it might come from that. So contact them to complain about it.

    Fraud BS
I agree 110% with tj. I called the company and of course got the run around. Mean while I already contacted my bank and canceled my card and put througha dispute. I ordered Wen Haircare over a month ago, canceled my "membership" that I never signed up for and was refunded the money they pulled from my account. A few weeks later this GRC Vitamins tries to pull over $40 from my checking account. Guthey Renker is getting scammed or they are scamming. Vitamins have nothing to do with haircare products. I asked why they charged my account for something I never authorized let alone wanted in the first place. I received a bunch of "sorry for the inconvenience". Never got a straight answer from the most unprofessional CSR I ever spoke to. I have been working is Customer Service over 5 years and this place sounded like they were running it from their basement. The folks at Wen canceled everything, sent me an email, and I got the refund within 2 days. After I asked for a supervisor with "Amber" from Guthey Renker customer service, she asvise me that she got clearance to refund my account and I would be responsible for sending the package back within 6 weeks. I NEVER GOT ANYTHING IN THE MAIL! Now, they are going to try and pull more BS on me and claim they sent it blah blah blah. Please don't let this happen to anyone you know, just advise them to call their bank and close out your debit card or account number right away. This is fraud and of course illegal. If these people are smart enough to try to get away with this scam they should be smart enough to get a real job! I will be getting my money back, sorry scammers! You will not be getting anything from me!

Hey there, this same exact thing just happened to me!  I checked my credit card statement and have $38.92 charged to GRC*VITAMINS 800-8133642, CA.  How do I go about getting my $$$ back?  And how do I keep this charge from happening again next month or whenever they decide to charge it again?  Thanks for your help, glad I'm not the only one going through this.

The same thing happened to me. I called the company letting them know that I had not ordered anything from them. When I ordered ProActive last month it apparently came with a free month of this vitamin.
I told the representative that I did not order them and wanted to cancel, she of course tried to talk me out of it. I cancelled my accout and when I recieve the shipment I will send them back to be credited.

I hope this helps all of you. I only called once and got a representative the first time.

I called and found the same--it was a promo that was associated with ProActive. Im sure it is predatory and targeted at youth, but when I called they were prompt in making the proper adjustments to my account. The sales rep was professional and responsive.

This vitamin company are scam artists.  I ordered WEN and with it came a free sample of these vitamins.  I did not want them and did not order them.  Then one month later I saw a charge on my account for the vitamins.  I called them right away and they told me I would have to send it back with a delivery confirmation. When it arrived ... I brought it directly to the post office and told them to return to sender.  I could not put a delivery confirmation on it because I would have to put on a new label and pay for the postage.  The post office told me to just send it back to sender and they would get it within a few days.  One month later ... they charged me again.  I called them and they told me that unless I had a tracking number they had no way of knowing that it was returned.  Total Bull.  I called my bank and they got on the phone with them and they gave them the same song and dance and they said they had the right to charge me even though they had it on record I never ordered this item and wanted it cancelled.  My credit card had to be changed so they could not get any more payments and my bank is adjusting the charges.  It also seems they have a lot of customers with the same complaint.

I am writing to WEN and making a formal complaint for them giving out my card number to this company.  I will be complaining to the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau as well as any other agency that can go after them.

Shame on all companies associated with GRC.

I ordered Wen haircare this week with a FREE 30-day trial of vitamins.  I looked at my online credit card account today and saw a $1.00 charge "pending" from GRC Vitamins.  I called the number Christine noted and told them. She said they show no $1.00 charge because it was a free 30-day trial offer. We went round and round...she did say once the $1.00 charge should "fall off" my credit card account or I could call my credit card company and dispute the charge. This is a ridiculous procedure...they are probably testing the account to make sure it is good, but I don't like it! I canceled the order for any future shipments of vitamins and when asked why I told her because your company charged me $1.00 and deny doing it! Thanks for this talk on here because it told me exactly how I should proceed in this scam...

Follow-up - I called Wen to complain of their association with GRC Vitamins.  The customer service rep was nice and said she used to work at a bank and saw this happen all the time, and that the $1.00 charge should go back into my credit card account once it was verified as an active account.  I still don't like it, but it makes me more aware of how these mail-order companies do business and their employees don't even know how it all works.
