I received a letter saying I owed $624.99 for Yellowpagesexpress.com, a listing I never authorized. In addition I have not been the owner of the business since 2005.
I also received a collections notice for $774.95 dated April 29, 2012 from ACA Recovery, Inc. with Local US Pages as their client. Both phone numbers listed on the letter are no longer valid numbers. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and AG for New Jersey. I will file a complaint with the USPS and my local County Prosecutor (I didn't think of those until reading these posts). This has been ongoing for me, from over 2 years ago. They recorded a conversation with our secretary, then used that as a basis for a "verbal contract." However, the recording was just canned responses to yes/no questions with other statements edited out. Like, "Is the address you gave me where you receive bills and invoices?" And of course our answer would be yes. When I confronted them (over two years ago, when their phones worked) they threatened us with legal action. My response was, "Please let us know when you file the suit." I absolutely agree with Jack and should bill them for my time... But I'm just a local preacher for our church, so the bill wouldn't be much.

We got one today too and I immediately knew it was a scam, for we have NEVER advertised online. Also it made me laugh for the client they are supposedly representing goes by the name of
LOCAL DIRECTORY ONLINE
Too funny.
Regardless and turning the letter over to the BBB and will post it on FB, etc, in order to give them more exposure. The more people who know about them, the better!
File fraud complaints with FTC and your state AG, and a mail fraud complaint with the US Postal Inspector.

I too recieved a letter from ACA Recovery indicating that I owe Local Directory Online $650 in which I trash their bill every year. I called ACA Recovery and talked to a person named Jack Klien as Mr Cutler was not available. I actually told Mr Klien that this Local Directory Online is a scam for putting me on collection for the service in which I have not use for.

Same thing. Letter says we owe $650 and we never have done business with Local Directory Online. Just filed a complaint with FTC.
In addition, file fraud complaints with your state AG, the New Jersey AG, and a mail fraud complaint with the US Postal Inspector.

SCAM!!! Our small business received in mail today, August 14, 2012: Letter stating our account is in COLLECTION for $650.95. I have no account with Local Directory Online. Says to contact Mr. Butler at 800-356-3713. Will not make this phone call. Anytime you answer a question with a "Yes" you risk being responsibly attached to a claim.
