Complaint

Unbelievable.  This number calls five or six times a week.  I have entered our information into their "do no call" system.  I have called the number back and done so again.  This time I decided to wait on the line for someone.

Once, the first time I tried to speak with someone after waiting on hold, the person I got just hung up on me the minute I said, "Put me on your--".  This time, I just flat out asked to speak to a supervisor.

The guy gets on the line.  I told him that all of this continual calling constituted as harassment.  I told him to put us on the do not call list.  He started to tell me that they have so many different numbers that there was just no way for them to make sure all the different offices had the same information.  Um, share a database much?  Then he went on to say that that was the first time they'd called me.  UNREAL.  It's not.  It's very clear here on our display.  So then he asks me what the number is-- I tell him 503-902-8482.  He says... -gaspshockhorror- "That's not our number."  I said, "So you're telling me that your standing in that location and the number you're calling me from is not your number."  "That's what I'm telling you," he says.  I was gobsmacked.  I said, "That doesn't make any logical sense.  The number you're calling me from shows up right here."  And then, kicker of all kickers, he says, "I said exactly what I'm saying.  I didn't stutter."

My jaw was on the floor.  I couldn't believe the audacity.  I said, "You're some piece of work, [***]."  And I meant it, too.  In response he said, "I'm too much of a Christian to say the word, but you're a C, honey.  You can go ahead and fill in the last three letters."

I'm pretty sure that's the crusade Christ would have set upon.  To upend the horrible C___ who had the GALL to ask that her phone be put on a do not call list.

This place?  It should be shut down.

After receiving these calls and reviewing the below complaints, I studies the FTC and FCC rules regarding the Do Not Call Registry.  Guess what?  These kind of organizations are EXEMPT!!!!  There is NOTHING we can do about it.  I would suggest that we as a people contact our respective Senator's and Congressmen and demand that this be changed.

That is the SAME number, same company that calls me - and it's not even ME they want to talk to! I've told them this several times, but I still get called too. Wonder if we can do a class action harassment suit against these [***]!

the F.C.C has an easy online form to file charges. As reference librarian, I get this all day long. This place claims to be in Washington state so, if you are a resident you can contact the Attorney's Office.

I'm afraid we are caught by the proverbial "short hairs" over these unscrupulous telemarketers. We aren't protected by the FCC or our own Attorneys General No CAll Lists, etc. If you do a "*60" and
enter the offending #'s, it only works for those "offending calls" from within your service area, so
our only recourse is to get rid of our land-lines or our cellphones - it can't be done!!

this guy is full of calls.
      REPORT TO  THE F.C.C.
make your government do it's job ,people.
If everyone on all these [***] list would focus on the F.C.C.
they would absolve the problem in weeks.

They just called me but after listening to my recorded message on my answering maching they hung up.

The message is simple.  The recording tells them that I do not answer calls from numbers that I do not recognize and that I am on the national  do not call registry. Next the recording tells them that  if they are soliciting for anything that they should just hang up and forget it!

It's a bit long, but all of these phone thugs hang up  without leaving any message at all.  They may call back a few times but they will usually loose interest after 5 or 10 attempts.

I know that sometimes my machine is actually talking to their machine, but at least my machine gets to talk to something with a brain instead of the jerks that tell their machine to call me.

Yeah, big problem here too.  The message states that this is our 'last chance' blah blah but we've received more than one call A DAY from them . . . . and, yes, from different numbers/locations all identified as PACIFICTEL.  What the H***!!!  It's like we've been infested with telemarketing roaches . .  and, I did grab the phone once and push the 'push this # if you do not wish to receive calls'.  But, if they are calling from a multitude of places that won't help since apparently in the year 2012 they don't have a common database they work from????.  I don't even know if it worked on that one.

Just received a call from (503) 468-5935. Caller ID said Pacifictel. Looked up the # and it shows that the call came from Astoria Oregon and also listed as level 3 communications, Llc-Wa

I do not bother to answer any calls when I do not recognize the phone number anymore. I get random calls and texts on my cell phone as well although not from this # but never respond or answer any of the calls or texts. I am too on the national do not call list for both home and cell. The calls have subsided somewhat on my cell but still getting plenty of annoying calls from random #'s like this on the home phone. The co mentioned if you look it up is a co offering I think home and cell services. I did not go to their web-site but it does show up if you all look up Pacifictel.

Since the FTC does not seem willing to enforce the DNC (in my opinion), once before when I was getting calls from a 1-800 number I rigged my computer to make calls back to their toll free number repetitively.  They cannot consider this as spamming if you were first contacted by the company, as I am merely returning their phone calls with a fax.  I am considering doing this to one company, but their number is long distant.  If I were in their local calling area though I would do it.  I remember when I started doing that before the calls stopped.  Guess they got tired of receiving computer fax calls on their 1-800 number. If they did not want my fax calls my answer was don't call my landline.

This don't work though if they are long distant as it would cost too much.  Then I thought about rounding up all my junk mail, getting their address and sending it to them.  That works good if they are paying the postge on one of their envelopes.

Now I am looking for a toll free number for Debt Recovery Solutions.  But since they only called my cell phone don't want to launch calls to them on my landline giving them that phone number, or they might start calling it.

All of the calls that are coming to us from this number area recording about a home
security system.  They lead you to believe it is ADT.  The call begins with a message
about how many home break-ins there are every so many seconds.  They are trying
to get us to spring for a "free" home security system.  All we have to do is let them
put the sign in the front yard.  This has been going on since we moved here March 26.
I've tried hitting the option that says "take this number off your list".  It doesn't work.
I've tried staying on the line to talk personally to a representative and tell them we
already have an ADT system. (Another warning: do not do business with this
company.  They are total screwballs.  The right hand definitely does not know what
the left is doing, and the different departments do not communicate.  They are
especially bad about making appointments and then not showing up.)

Jen Todd, OMG!! That convo was like "what the... WHAAA???"  what does that mean anyway when they say yes, i didn't call u from this number that i'm calling u from.  Obviously, they have experience in talking to and frusterating the ppl they harass.  Wish there was a real solution that would make them pay BIG bucks for everytime they solicite.
