SCAM ALERT!!!
I paid Regional Adjustment Bureau 10 years ago in full for a bad debt.  Recently, I received a bill from Portfolio Recovery Associates for the same account I paid off 10 years ago.  The bill arrived using a name I haven’t used in 10 years and was also mailed to my mother’s house where I don’t live.  I have found many complaints similar to mine on the internet.  With this said, I find it hard to believe that this is just a “mistake”, like Portfolio Recovery Associates told me, but rather an attempt to deliberately collect money on the same debt twice.  I think they are counting on people who won’t save their payment receipts for that long, and feel they would be an easy target.  I don’t know how Portfolio Recovery Associates came across my information recently, but I will be finding out tomorrow.  I will then be contacting the BBB and any and all other agencies as well, regarding their scam.    Luckily, I have my payment information from 10 years ago.

Do you guys realize that all we need to do is to pay our debts on time and none of this would have happened

That's true however they are harrassing me for a debt I paid to the original creditor 8 years ago. I settled with that creditor for less that what I owed and they agreed to write off 400.00. PRA is hounding me  for the 400.00 that was written off. I have proof from the original creditor that I made that agreement with them and my account was PAID IN FULL yet PRA harasses me constantly. They ignored my DV letter they also ignored my cease and desist letter. So it's great for you to say that we should all pay our bills but these bottom feeder's are trying to collect on debts that are beyond the statue of limitations. I'm glad that you haven't had any hardship and haven't had trouble making ends meet. I had to file a complaint with the BBB in order to get them to stop. They are a terrible company they treat people like crap and they do not want to work with people. They have close to 1,300 complaints with the BBB.

Do you realize that your post is ignorant and asinine?  I guess I answered my own question.
