Credit Card Terminal Equipment Lease

This company says I have leased a credit card terminal from them and have defaulted on the contract.  I didn't even know they existed prior to this nor is there a reason to lease the equipment from someone in New York, when I could have leased it locally in Florida. Also, being retired, I am not currently working on anything but golfing handicap. How does one handle this kind of fraud that seems to be protected by laws that allow business carte blanche rights to collect accounts delinquent?  There seems to be no legal recourse unless served a lawsuit by them.  Thankfully, this country still allows you to defend yourself in court from this nonsense!

Wish me luck.  Civil case has been scheduled for me on April 28, 2014 in New York civil court against Lease Financial Group.LLC.  I live in PA.  Not sure if I want to represent myself so I am seeing a lawyer for any advice he or she can give me.

I want to submit a claim to Attorney General in Illinois and also to better business bureau. I signed a lease with Northern Leasing Systems in 2009. The lease expired two years ago. I sold the business to the man who died. A few months ago Northern Leasing System started asking me to pay the balance which I never owe to them because the lease expired two years ago. They also reported to the credit bureaus and threatened to commerce a civil action against me. I am not going to be threatened, and I will fight it back.

I would like to hear from any Canadians regarding dealing with Northern Leasing.  I am at the end of my lease, have returned equipment  yet they are still taking money, saying that I did not return the correct serial numbe. Has anyone approached a Canadian Lawyer and how did it go. I've paid them their money and more but fear I will never be rid of them.

an organized crime racket, stop treating it as some "business billing error".
You're in Canada, contact RCMP, the Canadian equivalent of the FBI.

I am going through the same thing as all of you. We need to bond together. This is not fair and these people should have been closed a long time ago. Email me your story and state. With so many of us we should be able to do something. If anyone has been to court with them we would love to hear what happened!!!!   Hroffice2015@yahoo.com

We had a little catering shop in which we had leased a credit card machine. When the salesperson brought in teh credit card machine he told us someone had to sign for the machine and since there was 4 of us as owners,my husband sign showing he was responsible for the machine.  Our business closed and we returned the machine but still had broken the lease.  Now, 10+ years later, we are being threatened with court and that we must pay $1800 when the lease would have been around $800.  Can they take us to court after being closed for over 10 years

Hi good afternoon My mom is a small business owner a sales Agent came in to her beauty parlor and ask her would she like the to try out a credit machine for 30 days.  If she doesn't like it she can return it within those 30 days she return within a week but then a couple months later she got a mail stated that she owes for the machine. I don't under how she owes for the machine if she had a 30 day Free Trail and returned within a week.  Now she got a letter in the mail stating that they filed a civil suit against her. If anyone know how we should go about this please comment and explain. And also we're located in Florida.
