Credit Card Terminal Equipment Lease

This company says I have leased a credit card terminal from them and have defaulted on the contract.  I didn't even know they existed prior to this nor is there a reason to lease the equipment from someone in New York, when I could have leased it locally in Florida. Also, being retired, I am not currently working on anything but golfing handicap. How does one handle this kind of fraud that seems to be protected by laws that allow business carte blanche rights to collect accounts delinquent?  There seems to be no legal recourse unless served a lawsuit by them.  Thankfully, this country still allows you to defend yourself in court from this nonsense!

there is a statute of limitations~  regardless of what this company would like you to think, they cannot come after anyone after 7 years.  Ignore them, change your bank account, change your address, never give anyone your land address, have a P.O. Box for business mail and change your cell phone # and bank accounts if you need to.  It is easy enough to give it out to the people you want to have it, although, I would never give anyone bank info.  Get a google # and use that for your business contacts.  They are blood suckers, and they resort to shady practices, so play them at their own games.  Remember, there is a statute of limitations, so if it has been 7 years (in most states) you are covered.  That is the law.  Look it up for your own state, be informed!  And, good luck!

The New York statute of limitations will apply. If you live outside NY and your statute is shorter than six years, you might get the court to "borrow" your state's limits. But you need to file a response in court. NY lawyers can be very expensive, but I specialize in beating Northern Leasing affordably. 516-242-1453

I too have recieved threating leaders from Golden Leasing.. They said they were suing me because I owe them 696 in monies due under the lease . They gave me 10 days from the days of the letter which says June 3 and I just recieved it last week on the 18.. When I signed the 1 page lease for a 4 year agreement they told me the machine was mine to keep. When the lease expired I was billed month to month.. I had to close out accounts to due to negative balance caused by them ..to what address should the machine be returned too?? Can they really sue if I live in Texas and they're in New York

Does anyone know if it is legal for a lease agreement to be for more then 48 Months? I was scammed into a lease for 60 months. The company is LGF I think and the Processor is Summit Merchant. I hate them.

We too got scammed - the equipment was returned which the equipment co verified, yet Lease Finance Group continued to take out over $55/mo for the past 28 mos. from our checking acct.  Now their phone number "is no longer in service"!  We are a small business, struggling, and cannot afford to fork over $1500 for NOTHING!!!  So unethical.  HELP!!

I am now in the middle of a suit filed by Mr. Sussman, I have tried to settle this by phone but to no avail. I was told that the suit is filed in New York and me being from Ca. I would not appear so they would win by default. I do not owe this Leasing company he represents but now I know how they do business. This has been ongoing since 2010. GIVE IT UP I do not owe you nothing. I live on Social Security only and I cannot afford this company on my butt!

Same boat, contacting Ny AG after this post. Lease Finance Group, aka mbf, northern has been on me and now suing me. They have lied, and cussed. I paid my 2 48 month contracts, yes I said 2 of them. Sent equipment back on one contract. Tried asking them nicely how to cancel, to no avail. Please help, what happens if we ignore them?

I have dealt with this company 13 years and yesterday I closed all of my bank accounts for fear that they would empty them out as it has happened over the years.  I am only receiving paper checks and chasing them and staying away from banks because of them.  I want to join the class action suit to stop these criminals.

I sent Kevin Connolly money to represent me in a Lease Contract dispute with lease finance group. Three months later as far as I can tell he has done nothing for me and now he will not return phone calls or emails.

I signed a contract with Pivotal Payments in Ontario 2008. I cancelled it in 2009 when I could no longer get technical support or anyone to return my phone calls. I was dealing with a faulty machine. I decided after many frustrating months trying to reach them to just go with another credit card merchant. (moneris) and send them my terminal back-they wouldnt accept it and it came back to me. Lease Finance Group started calling my cell my home my business and leaving these messages. It was really harrassing. Now 5 years later I am getting letters from a lawyer and been given a court date.
I am sure my contract with Pivotal was 1 double sided sheet and they have sent me to Small Claims Court with a 15 page document with my initials all over it. No sign of Pivotals name on this contract-just 'Lease Finance Group. I am assuming they wait this long to hope you have lost any paperwork or have any memory of the incident. I dont have anything to take to court. I have seen online many people going through the same thing.
