Complaint

Country: United States
I have been harassed by this collection agency "Folk Receivable Management". They have been calling me for a month and when I try to return the calls and explain I am not the person they are looking for, they hung up on me.

It's disrespectful and plain wrong. I would like to know how to stop them from calling.

This is a place of business. We receive calls from this number 678-228-3415. They do not answer because it is answered in the company name.

We received the same call from 1-866-664-2512.  These folks are harassing us when you did not owe any single penny or money also. I called them back and ask them what debt they are talking about. Then they baffled and told me .. wait and they are checking.. few minutes later they told me they will remove my number from calling list....   this is fraud.

Got a  hand held tape recorder? get it then look up a tty number like 1-877-486-2048(medicare) record the high pitched noise for several minutes. rewind place near your phone when your phone rings and a unknown, unavailable number shows on the 3rd ring hit the play on your tape recorder and place quickly to the phone mouthpiece.this usually assures a quick hankup and no re-pete calls.

Calls me about 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks asking for Dave Doral's debt. I have read articles saying stating how they have received the same call by the same number about the same person. After calling back and asking to stop, they continue to call.

If it is a real debt collection for something you owe they should not be calling more than once a day. so either it's a scam or they know it's illegal and are still making the calls . I'd sue for harassment

I have been getting calls from 678-228-3415 and 866-664-2513 both these numbers belong to Focus Receivable Management. They are a scam organization that tries to collect on things that are not theirs when your credit record is accessed. I have had calles at least 3 times a day since January, 2010 because my credit record had been checked.

Hahahaa i didn't know anything about this until i read this website, I had no clue it was a scam organization, I just thought it was a simple collection agency and someone had lied about their number for a debt...I got them to quit calling me though, if you call back and tell them that if they call you one more time you will take their ass to court (that exact wording) they magically quit calling.

Focus receivables uses less than questionable measures in order to make you feel like a horrible person, when in fact that is what they are. Don't give them your personal information  or banking information. Send them a cease and desist letter and if that doesn't work, which by law they have to abide by, then call them and tell them that you are going to go after them to the fullest extent of the law.  Send them payments in the mail, if they accept it then you are okay because they accepted the payment, if they don't, pay the original creditor, I'm sure they want money on the debt and not all of the BS drama attatched to Focus Receivable. The Focus Receivable agents get commission for each person they intimidate in to paying a bill, they are after money for themselves too.

We have been getting calls from 866-664-2512 and 678-228-3431 for about two weeks - we have no outstanding debts so we are not calling them back.  I am filing a complaint report as this sort of thing has got to stop.

I suspect this has something to do with my ex husband, I do not have any past due bills. I have blocked their number as spam on my cell phone, and will keep doing so for every number they come up with.

This place has been calling me twice a day for about 3 mos. I answered once and they were looking for a different person, I told them they had the wrong number but they still call. A few weeks ago I purchased a new phone with call blocking so now when they call it gives them a busy signal and hangs up.

Focus Receivables gave me a call this morning @ 7:04AM (violation of fair credit/collections act-can't call that early! What is it - $500 per violation if you sue them in small claims court?), they hung up and didn't leave a message.

Because this is a brand new phone number for me and I keep getting calls for the 'lady' who had this number before me  I called them back. I was told that they were looking for some guy - then they changed the name two more times saying they were wrong about the other names... WTF Sure I really believe anything a collection agency says.  The person was very nice however time will tell if really stop calling.

It's got to be their MO to call so early and hang up just to piss people off.

FRM, calls me several times a day. Seems to get worse on the weekends. They left a message at 8:30 pm on a Sunday telling me to call them. Thier recording says the law requires us to call etc. Filing report with BBB and FTC. They haven't validated a debt yet either.
