Harassing Phone Calls from "Folk Receivable Management"

Complaint

Country: United States
I have been harassed by this collection agency "Folk Receivable Management". They have been calling me for a month and when I try to return the calls and explain I am not the person they are looking for, they hung up on me.

It's disrespectful and plain wrong. I would like to know how to stop them from calling.

First - THANKS for all this info - I had no idea who or what this company was until I read the posts - second, I have Charter home phone service - you can block incoming phone numbers - I read all these post and came up with 4 phone numbers this company calls from - I added all 4 of them to my block incoming call list - •Selective Call Acceptance limits incoming calls to up to 12 designated numbers and auto-routes all other incoming calls to a polite message stating that calls are not being accepted at this time
To Activate: Lift the handset, listen for the dial tone, press *64, then follow the menu prompts to add numbers to your list of accepted callers..

To Deactivate: Lift the handset, listen for the dial tone, and then press *84.

These people are driving me crazy.  They call my cell phone all day long.  If I answer - it is to a voice message.  When i call back they have my listening to a phone ringing more than 30 times.  I have no idea what they want.  I pay my bills on time and do not have any delinquencies or unpaid old bills. i am going to take my cell phone to my carrier and have them put a block on FRM's number.

866-664-2513 A rude, very uneducated sounding girl called me and asked for my name.. Then she asked about an address and if I had ever lived there. She then started arguing with me when I wouldn't give her my address.  I told her off and I don't owe anyone anything so don't ever call me again!!!! If they don't stop calling I promise I'm suing.

Unfortunately, you can't really sue them without some expensive detective work.  The phone number may show to be in one place, but the odds are they're in another  - maybe not even in the country.  Anyone can get any number in any place they like with Google Voice.

Thank you everyone for the info. They have been calling me a couple tmes a day at work -- no reason that I know of. Luckily I have caller ID, so I don't answer it and it rolls over to voicemail which I subsequentkly delete. I  don't want to get in a screaming match at work :-) Thanks again.

Your posting of a honest workers information is sad. You do not know any of these people yet your posting personal information on a national website because your mad your getting a phone. You should be mad at your service provider they gave you a debtors number. How about family members who dead beated on a bill and gave your number as a contact. If those don't work Lastly be mad as yourself for being a debtor that refuses to pay for their agreed responsibilties. Overall you somehow brought collection activity on yourself and just like most americans are looking for another too blame which is sadly stupid like you posting someone address family and phone on a forum site use that energy and get yourself out debt or change your number

If your being contacted for an incorrect party then just say so. 90 percent of the tines your called incorrectly its due to someone listing you as a contact or previous owners. Instead of taking to a forum to vent about unwanted calls do the adult thing and either pay your debt which most just refuse to acknowledge for some illlegitmate reasons or due to the shame of being in colllections. Representatives at Focus don't receive commision on payments. Rather than Tryig to ride a high horse that your better than a worker at that business pay your bill which will end it all, as you promised the client you would and had you done that a "bill collector" would have no need for exsistence. Smh you all are not better than anyone most of you are just too ignorant or plain old stupid to realize.

    really upset
I also have been contacted by this company for the last month.  They call  of every other day and leave a recorded message to call another number.  As I do not have any outstanding debt or unpaid bill and my credit record is very high, I just ignore the calls but take note of the date and the time and keep the recorded message in case I decide to take them to court.  It is very annoying.  I thought they were trying to contact another person who had my home phone number before it was assigned to us, but one day they called my cel phone number (they did this just onces).  So I wonder now ....

the problem with these calls is that allmost everyone gets a new number that someone else had when they get a new cell phone or landline.so these scumbags have no idea who they are calling..so get caller id,if you dont know the number dont answer it.but if you truly are a deadbeat pay your bills.

I received a call from this number earlier this month. I did not answer because my number is supposed to be on the national do not call list and I'm not supposed to be getting these phone calls.I would like to see something be done to stop these calls.

Please tell me how I can sue Focus Receivable for harassment.  They call my wife and I at least 4 times a week alleging a debt that they never define.  They even call on Sundays, and as late as 11 PM.  If you can stop them, fine.  If not I'm going to sue.  I'm an old man, and don't need this kind of nonsense.
