I authorized only $1.97 debit from my account for a Grant CD. However, BSM Grant Search Assistant charged me twice $39.95 in December again in January. I did not authorize any further debits from my account.

I didn't recognize the name on my online statement, so I called the bank. The bank didn't have a complete phone number or a complete name of the company that fraudulently charged my account.
I took what little information I had, and I Googled "GrantSearch" and the partial 800 number that was listed on my account. I found out that the company is named "Grant Search." Their full telephone number is 800-479-0979. I called the number an first spoke to an operator.
I explained to the operator that money was illegally removed from my account. The only thing the operator said he was authorized to do was to refund the last charge of $39.95.
When I explained that I am a Federal employee and that I fully intended to investigate the matter further as well as file a formal complaint with the FTC, he transferred me to a "supervisor."
When I explained to the supervisor that I was with the Federal government and that I expected a full refund, he immediately "charged the money back to my account" and gave me a confirmation number.
The manager's name was Mar Montoya. The company address is 2620 South Maryland, Las Vegas, NV.
This morning I checked my online bank statement and I noticed the charges still remained on my account. I called back and talked to a manager named Janet Davidson. She reassured me that the money was "charged back" and that it will reflect on my account within a day or two.
The General Manager of the business is Ryan Riddle. His direct phone number is 435-733-1795. His email address is ryan@wskc.org.
As soon as I got off the phone, I filed a formal complaint through the FTC. To file your own complain go to www.ftc.gov.
I urge everybody that has had any dealings with this company to file a similar complaint -- no matter what the outcome. Stealing information or tricking people into thinking they are getting something for FREE only to be charged for it, is a crime.
Good Luck Everybody,
