I got a call today at home from a man stating he was a process server for Collin County DA's Office and he is with the Sheriff's office and needed to come serve a warrant on me.  I was shocked and asked why?  He stated do you live ....are you still at this address are you now at this address and I stated who are you?  He again, stated he was from the county going to serve court papers on me today. He gave me a toll free number for what he stated was the county's office which is 1 866.872.6116 gave me a case no. which he called a Cause No. 008307-TX. I called the number was transferred to a Mr. Fisher's office who stated that law suite in the amount of $6,214.24 was filed in Collin Co., Tx and that warrant was out for me.  He then after back and forth said let me get more information from my secretary and state this was for an outstanding debt in from Capital One a credit card that I obtained several years back and had disputes over interest charges etc.  He stated that if I did not want to go to court or jail that I could pay $1,951.00 in full by end of business today and this matter could be cleared up.  I explained that I recently lost my job etc.  Anyway, he stated that I needed to call him back by EOB today or they will serve the papers.  Ok, so that was a heads up for me.  I called the DA's office nothing is filed on me as of today, after searching PMG it is clear that they do not practice best practices for collections and have been in trouble for this before back in 2004.  I need someone to give me advise. I want to pay off my debt, I don't want this type of collections to continue this upset me, made my blood pressure raise, this type of collections are not the right thing to do.  Had they called and ask to make arrangements or give me an opportunity to clear the matter, rather then threaten me by taken legal action, or harassment stating they are sending a sheriff over today.  This is wrong, bad business, and should not continue this company is bad news.

The reason this lunatic is getting so angry is because all these post
are really starting to affect his bottom line.
The word is out and it's getting harder for them to collect fraudulent debt.
It doesn't matter how many numbers or names they use their MO is always the same. Not the brightest criminals.
Can't you come up with something new besides you're the police and I'm being arrested and going to jail in 3 hours if I don't pay you. That's pretty lame.

I found this post from Lowell Meyer on ripoffreport.com. He is the owner of "PACIFIC MANAGEMENT" what a coincidence that his post and the post above are written very similarly. I believe these post are from the same individual.

WOW?FIRST?I, LOWELL MEYER HAVE NEVER DONE BUSINESS WITH A DOCTOR DOZACO AND DOUBT IF THAT PERSON EVEN EXISTS, HE IS IN FACT NOT REGISTERED WITHIN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, MEDICAL BOARD. YET, SOMEONE CAN WRITE A COMPLAINT LIKE THIS WITHOUT ANYONE DOING ANY INVESTIGATION OF THE FACTS. I NOR ANYONE I KNOW OF EMPLOYED BY ME WERE EVER CONTACTED TO VERIFY IF THESE ALLEGATIONS WERE IN FACT TRUE OR NOT! YET THIS WEB SITE JUST PUT IT THEIR AS IT BEING FACT AND REFUSES TO EVER TAKE IT DOWN.

HOW ABOUT THE PERSON WHO IS MAKING THIS STATEMENT USE HIS OR HER REAL NAME AND ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. THAT SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT JUST TO START WITH. HOW ABOUT THEM SHOWING SOME DOCUMENTATION OR PROOF INSTEAD OF JUST SIMPLY GENERAL ALLEGATIONS THAT ARE NOT VERIFIED??

I, LOWELL H. MEYER, PRESIDENT OF PACIFIC MANAGEMENT & MARKETING, INC. HAVE NEVER HAD ANY OWNERSHIP INTEREST OF ANY KIND IN ICON TALENT AGENCY.THAT COMPANY WAS OWNED AND OPERATED BY A BETTY GUTIEREZ AND HER TWO BROTHERS. EACH OF THESE THREE INDIVIDUALS OBTAINED A LOAN FROM PACIFIC (A LICENSED LENDER IN CALIF) AND THE TWO BROTHERS PAID THEIR LOANS OFF IN FULL. BETTY GUTIERREZ ON THE OTHER HAND, DID NOTPAY PAYMENTS FOR ABOUT A TWO YEAR PERIOD, SO THE TWO PROPERTIES THAT SHE USED TO BORROW MONEY ON WERE DEEDED TO PACIFIC IN LIEU OF FORECLOSURE BY BETTY GUTIERREZ.

NOW, THE MONEY LOANED TO ALL THREE I AM SURE WENT INTO THEIR BUSINESS OF ICON TALENT BUT THAT IS NOT MATERIAL TO ME AS REAL ESTATE LOANS ARE MADE BASED ON EQUITY AND CREDIT AND WE DO NOT CONTROL WHAT THEY USED THE MONEY FOR.NOR DID WE TAKE ANY INTEREST IN ICON TALENT AGENCY WITH THE
    LOANS MADE.

I WOULD LIKE THE WRITER OF THIS COMPLAINT TO SHOW ONE PERSON OTHER THAN THE THREE PEOPLE ABOVE WHO OWNED ICON TALENT THAT WE MADE A LOAN TO FOR AN INVESTMENT IN ICON TALENT AND THAT WE LATER FORECLOSED ON.IT NEVER HAPPENED?.AND IF IT HAD, THE DEPTARTMENT OF CORPORATIONS WOULD HAVE TAKEN MY LICENSE AWAY.

AS FOR WENDY MEYER, SHE REPRESENTS PACIFIC ONLY AS OUR ATTORNEY AND DID NOT MAKE ANY STATEMENTS TO ANYONE OTHER THAN ONE PHONE CALL IN WHICH SHE INDICATED TO THE PERSON THAT CALLED THAT, NO SHE DID NOT REPRESENT BETTY GUTIERREZ.

If your bank has had many complaints, then those complaints are due to this scam attempting to collect on debts they don't even own.

Ask your bank to contact FTC, to forward information on the fraud complaints they have received.

Also directly contact FTC yourself, to notify them that your bank has received many fraud complaints.  this will allow them to follow up and collect more detailed evidence.

You can say anything you want, but no real debt collector uses fake "process servers" making threats on the phone to collect real debts.

Closing debt collectors collecting on fake "debt" would be a net benefit to the country.  No loss there.

You are at 25 pages because you hide behind over 50 names, and even more phone numbers.  Every few months, new names, websites, and phone numbers show up.

Pretty soon, every UPS Store in the Corona area will have to get more boxes, just to keep up with your names.

Do all your phone lines funnel into just a few call centers?
Does each "business" pay its own phone bill, or are they all lumped under a few names?

How many of your "companies" have access to Experian or Equifax?
Are you also a client of Transunion?

Do you buy promotional consumer credit lists?
    If so, from which CRA?
    Under what business name?

Which skip-trace services are you using?

If you aren't engaged in fraud, why all the shills?

Why do shills show up, often as the first post against a number on 800notes?

They all "independent contractors", like your "process servers"?

    You are delusional.

They knew consumer complaints would be a problem from the beginning.

That's why they have over 50 names, and shills trying to counter the complaints.

All I know is after reading what is in this forum, I called the origianl owner of the debt and they told me the amount, date (I waas contacted after sol) and the original account number. None of it added up.  I cancelled my card, and called DLS and DRCC and asked about the errors.  The person on the phone responded they had a sworn affidavit of the debt.  When asked for a copy, I was yelled at, told to see them in court, and hung up on. They refused to show me the proof of debt and when I mentioned I called citifinacial and nothing added up, the man got aggrivated and said i just didnt want to pay my debt.  Why would I have set up a payment schedule and given my card info if I didn't have the money to pay? Still waiting to be served....  Not too worried.

Saying they have a "sworn affidavit of the debt" is not the same as actually producing one.  Even if they sent you a copy of some "sworn affidavit", you couldn't trust it.

They can say anything they want on the phone, with no consequences, so that is what they do.  Apparently it often works.  They are a bunch of pathological liars running a con.

The fact that the false information was similar to, but did not match the information from the original creditor, is consistent with using information from your own credit report.

Check your credit reports, particularly Experian, and look for recent inquiries under any name that you don't recognize as an actual creditor.

Usual fake "process server" calls to relatives MO, plus claiming to be "attorneys".
Shill claiming to be "attorney" claims they have some "network of attorneys".
Shill claims to have searched online to find out about them.
Shills claiming to have been "served", or "sued", or happy that they "settled".
Consumer reports that on contacting the county court, NO lawsuit had been filed.

I just received a call from this DRCC company claiming to be a litigation firm in Oceanside, California.  The woman who called said her name is "Abby Mason" and left a number for me to call her back on (888) 768-8974.  I immediately knew by the tone of the message that I was dealing with a fraudulent company.  I called them a little while ago and they hung up the phone on me the first time I called, put me on hold for a long time the second time I called, and the 3rd time, I asked so many questions, they disconnected me.  I am a debtor and I am in a program paying back all my debt.  I am not ignoring it.  I know that a lot of us are in our position to to unexpected circumstances, we did not choose to be in this predicament. My husband had a heart attack and can no longer work so I have to pay all our debt back on my salary alone. I am reporting this number, name, company, and message to the FTC.  They have a link on their website for the filing of a complaint.

The pattern of complaints against this "litigation firm" suggest that they are running a common fake "debt collection" racket, using illegal threats to con people into paying unowed money.  They may even be just another alias for a large fraudulent scam operating out of southern California.

Lots of people have debt, even delinquent debt, but that does not mean they owe the next threatening con artist who calls them on the phone.  Paying a scammer will not pay off any debt, only make you poorer.

Legitimate debt collectors, collecting on real debt that they own or have been assigned, follow the law, specifically FDCPA.  They do not make illegal threats, they mail a letter by U.S. Mail notifying the consumer of the alleged debt, and of their right to dispute or request proof, and they obtain and send that proof when requested, to ensure they do not collect on unowed debt or from the wrong party.

Scammers do none of that.  In fact, they work hard to get your money while NEVER providing any proof you owe it to them, and are willing to violate debt collection laws since they are hiding behind anonymity.

It has apparently become common knowledge in the fraud world how to run this type of fake "debt collection" scam, so they are showing up with increased frequency complete with calls to relatives, fake "process servers", threats to "sue" or have you "arrested", fake "attorneys" or "investigators", etc.

As you have indicated, contact FTC.  There are reports that they have been investigating a rash of complaints pointing to southern California as the location for a bunch of these scams.
