I got a call today at home from a man stating he was a process server for Collin County DA's Office and he is with the Sheriff's office and needed to come serve a warrant on me.  I was shocked and asked why?  He stated do you live ....are you still at this address are you now at this address and I stated who are you?  He again, stated he was from the county going to serve court papers on me today. He gave me a toll free number for what he stated was the county's office which is 1 866.872.6116 gave me a case no. which he called a Cause No. 008307-TX. I called the number was transferred to a Mr. Fisher's office who stated that law suite in the amount of $6,214.24 was filed in Collin Co., Tx and that warrant was out for me.  He then after back and forth said let me get more information from my secretary and state this was for an outstanding debt in from Capital One a credit card that I obtained several years back and had disputes over interest charges etc.  He stated that if I did not want to go to court or jail that I could pay $1,951.00 in full by end of business today and this matter could be cleared up.  I explained that I recently lost my job etc.  Anyway, he stated that I needed to call him back by EOB today or they will serve the papers.  Ok, so that was a heads up for me.  I called the DA's office nothing is filed on me as of today, after searching PMG it is clear that they do not practice best practices for collections and have been in trouble for this before back in 2004.  I need someone to give me advise. I want to pay off my debt, I don't want this type of collections to continue this upset me, made my blood pressure raise, this type of collections are not the right thing to do.  Had they called and ask to make arrangements or give me an opportunity to clear the matter, rather then threaten me by taken legal action, or harassment stating they are sending a sheriff over today.  This is wrong, bad business, and should not continue this company is bad news.

    Because...
If the defendants weasel their way out of this then it would have been bad form to have had the FTC let them fall into financial ruin as a company.
This DOESN'T mean that they are actually seeing the money, mind you.

    So
So the Receiver must be running the payments. They are going into a frozen account which will not be unfrozen till the case is settled.  All of which will then be used towards restitution of the victims, State and Federal taxes, penalties, and attorney fees.  At which point the permanent injuction will take place.

    According to the FTC...
They paid roughly $2,000,000 in the first six months of this year alone to a Texas company where they buy portfolios of old debt. Literally at pennies on the dollar. So, at 5 cents on the dollar they own (at LEAST) $40,000,000 dollars worth of debt.

    Yup.
See, more money frozen = higher wages for the Receiver, his appointed helpers / employees he deemed necessary to help in this case, and like you said, more money for all those victims.

Once you have a PBX, or even VoIP, you have the capability to make caller ID say whatever you want.  Even the poorest Indian scammer could do this if he tried, but it won't change his accent.

That is why when "your bank" calls to notify you of a "security problem", you ALWAYS call back via a number you know, like from your credit card or statement, NEVER talking to the caller, and NEVER calling back any number left.

Even this is subject to spoofing, either by diverting PBX calls via hacks, or by getting 800 numbers 1 digit different from large bank, utility, or insurance customer service numbers.  See the complaints against "Central Rewards" AKA "ultimate savings plus".

No phone calls from strangers can be trusted, for any reason whatsoever.

As always, the first line of defense with fraud is a bank fraud dispute, FRB Reg. E or FCBA.

What happens if a receiver-run business exceeds the payment processor's chargeback limits?

Then how do repeated complaints show up alleging collection attempts with threats on debts still owned by the original creditor bank?

Or all the "HSBC" or "First National Bank of Delaware" "CC debt" used to threaten people who never even had a card with HSBC, and never heard of "First National Bank of Delaware"?

Sounds like they bought "old debt" as a cheap sucker list/"get out of jail free card" so they could call and threaten anyone similar they could find, using the excuse they "thought they owed the debt", the same game played by the "legitimate" junk debt buyers.

    With a couple differences:

They added a heavy emphasis on skip-tracing, to threaten relatives and employers, including adding the illegal threats of "arrest" and "lawsuits".

Other complaints allege they attempted to use credit report account information to make up debts, including reports such accounts were verified by the consumers to be unowed or in good standing.

All hidden behind the layers of LLCs to protect them from what happens when you act like thugs.

"Maybe they won't go to jail..."

If any of these folks have previous convictions, larceny, extortion, grand theft auto, they might be going to jail.

I was looking at the PDF on a previous page with the filing and it looks like PMG wasn't in operation until well after 2000.  Yet, I am certain that the two crooks that I mentioned way back when, well at least one of them, told me he was working for Pacific Management Recovery.  I"m thinking that it's possible that this agency might've gone through sesveral permutations to get to this point.  Back in the 1990s, it was just as corrupt and vile as it is now.

    No legal standing
'Harassment Case' needs to go back to elementary school before he tries to play the part of pseudo-lawyer. The penal code cited is null and void - no stalking has taken place and nothing said could cause any of the indicted parties anymore harm than they already caused themselves.

The civil code won't work either, but nice try. Stick to playing games on the phone. It must make a little person like you feel good when the victims can't fight back. Time to level the playing field.

    Harassment Case
One last thing... I'm not pretending to be a lawyer. I'm someone that is being named in this and have had my name slandered on this site.

    Have a great weekend.

    Name Slandered
Like calling the new wife of an ex-husband of one of your so-called debtors? Then telling her that if she doesn't pass the information you provide to the debtor that SHE will be subpoena'd? THAT sounds more in line with "Harassment" than anything I have seen here. Someone has a complete call history on you jerks and can name a call you made months ago if you wanna play hardball. I know, I HIRED HIM.....

This site was not DOS'd. These morons have zero idea how to go about doing that.  But never fear, we have just been alerted to this outfit who has been scamming the innocent for a couple of years now.  The time to expose is here.  Be ready.
