They contacted me about a debt from 2005 in which I had previously settled.  The odd thing is that they had all my information.  I was very nice to them and got them to provide me their "corporate address" which was supposedly: 3380 LaSierra Avenue, Suite 104, Riverside California, 92503.  I looked it up on the Internet and Yes, it is the address for UPS.  I spoke with the UPS manager who confirmed it was possible that they had a "mailbox" through UPS but that the address they are providing belongs to UPS.  I sent the name and address to my state's Department of Insurance (DOI) to see if they were a licensed collection agency in my state. I received an e-mail back from the DOI which indicated they were NOT licensed in my state.  I called Mr. "William Brewer" back and informed him of the communication I had received from the DOI. He told me that they would stop calling.  I requested this in writing and have not received YET!!!!  They had previously told me I was going to get served.  Well I am still waiting...........Know your rights and file a complaint.  Also check with your state's collection laws.  My DOI was very prompt in there response.

    Same Philip Norman # 888-398-5434 from ARG Associates. To my knowledge if you are going to be served they do not call you and tell you. WTH

    Just received the same call, from the same person stating that I need to appear in court and consider myself served.  And if I do not want to appear in court, to stay on the line for a "mediation specialist"..LOL.  I HUNG UP!!!!

    I just got a call from Phillip Norman on both my landline and cell, regarding some sort of legal matter. The number I was called from is 888-689-9055. Blocked them from both.

    They are getting better at scamming . Same name same number. Got me for 50 bucks but . I smartened up canceled my card and filed fraud charges on my card.

    #888-638-3002. Called, I rejected & called back. Spoke with a woman named "Carmen" who gave me my name as contact for ex-husband (divorce finalized ren yrs ago) and his other ex from 30!!! yrs ago and his current wife's names as other contacts. Told me it was "a legal matter" for the State of Iowa & they needed to contact him TODAY. Didn't give his number & she said it was conditional for her to remove my number. DING-red flagging herself to the curb. Called ex & it is indeed a scam about a water bill from our separate in 2008 he forgot to pay & city already collected through Iowa's state tax refund debt offset program. Called back and left her a voicemail she'd been reported to FTC and IA attorney general. She said she was from ARG Group and Associates, but outgoing voicemail (in her voice) said Atlantic Recovery Group. Complete scam. Report them if they call you, folks.

    These people are the rudest people on earth.  They try to bully you into thinking you owe them something when you don't.  These people call everyone around you to harass them and you.  This bullying tactic probably works on some but people please research what they claim you owe on because the claim they called me on is in bankruptcy.  They are not following the laws of the state I live nor are they following federal laws.

    I’ve received the same call from Norman Phillips from ARG the last 3 days. I never answer the phone because it comes up Account Services and the number is unknown!!! There are filing charges against me!!! When you hold for a representative no one comes on the line!!! It hangs up...Since I’ve added the scam rejection on my phone I never get too many calls but when it shows unknown it makes it through!!! Called my court house nothing on file for me to appear in court.. nothing on file on me being sued.. these folks are ridiculous!!! My credit is A1 because I pay all bills on time.

      ARG and ARG & Associates are 2 different companies! ARG = Asset Recovery Group which is a legitimate (licensed) debt collector in Oregon. However, ARG & Associates = a "scam debt collector" (they buy old debts that were either invalidated by statute of limitations or bankruptcy, paid off and/or already settled) and this SCAM DEBT COLLECTOR's address is on Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles.

        Rider and others - Disregard the previous reply as I made an error. Here is the correction - ARG and ARG & Associates are 2 different companies! ARG = Asset Recovery Group, Inc. ,  which is a legitimate (licensed) debt collector in Oregon. However, ARG & Associates aka "Asset Reliance Group" = a "scam debt collector" (they buy old debts that were either invalidated by statute of limitations or bankruptcy, paid off and/or already settled) and this SCAM DEBT COLLECTOR's address is: Asset Reliance Group / 3380 La Sierra Ave Ste 104-591 / Riverside, CA 92503-5271

    They keep calling and harassing me.  I don't know they person they are looking for but we have the same last name.  I was finally able to call back and get someone to answer to tell them to stop calling me.  The receptionist said she would remove my number but was very rude and hung up on me.  I hope she really did remove it.
