Received the following scam message this morning.....when will it stop?

This letter is to notify you that we have received a Summons of Garnishment on your wages. This means that someone you owe money to has been awarded a judgment by the court for payment of the debt. The court has ordered us, your employer, to deduct

50% percent of your disposable earnings and make payment to the court on your behalf. The following applies to you:
Before you are arrested
If you pay in full, or make a part-payment before you are arrested, the warrant will be recalled and amended. However, it will be immediately re-issued if the debt is not paid in full. After you are arrested. Once the warrant has been served, your only options are to serve the time in prison or pay the debt (plus costs) in full at the Court house.
If you want to stop the garnishment deductions from your paycheck, you must obtain a release or go to the courthouse and pay the entire amount you owe.

If you have any questions about the garnishment, you should contact the persons named on the included Summons of Garnishment by email.

Sincerely,
Jonathan McNichols

I work for a federal agency and had them look up the case number  and it don't exist. Also,  when my HR tried to call him no number but when they attempted to email him it was from a Gmail account. As a federal employee all agencies and even legit companies do not use Gmail accounts. Immediately changed acct information however, If he tries to use my old account now they can catch him. It's a damn shame the scammers out here.

right so do they have access to my account info for real? Can i sue the company for allowing ppl to get my information? I was turned down 3 times from the loan place and these scammers seems to have all of my information saying that i basically owe the amount that i think i originally applied and was turned down for.

Ive been getting this same email scam for over a year! Don't stress. I just contacted the 3 credit reporting agencies and put an alert on my credit since the scammers have my social. If there is any fraudulent activity, you will be notified. Also, if you do that and try to open any credit accounts, your application will be pending until you call the company's customer service to verify your identity.

I got the same email. Had my previous employer, DL# and old address. Like how did he even get my DL# at all? I have a clean record so for him to send a garnishment and arrest warrant, I was a bit concerned! Who do I report this to?

Mine has so much less detail.

    CASE FILE #: UD-07165A

    Date: March 11th, 2017

    Settlement Amount: $500.00

This letter is to notify you that we have received a Summons of Garnishment on your wages. This means that someone you owe money to has been awarded a judgment by the court for payment of the debt. The court has ordered us your employer to deduct 50% percent of your disposable earnings and make payment to the court on your behalf. The following applies to you:

    Before you are arrested

If you pay in full or make a part-payment before you are arrested, the warrant will be recalled and amended. However, it will be immediately re-issued if the debt is not paid in full.

    After you are arrested

Once the warrant has been served, your only options are to serve the time in prison or pay the debt (plus costs) in full at the courthouse.

If you want to stop the garnishment deductions from your paycheck, you must obtain a release or pay the entire amount you owe, which you can pay with the help of Money Gram, Western Union, OneVanilla Prepaid Visa Card and American Express Prepaid Debit Card in order to close this account.

    What is garnishment?

Garnishment is a legal process that allows a creditor to remove funds from your [bank]/ [credit union] account to satisfy a debt that you have not paid. In other words, if you owe money to a person or company, they can obtain a court order directing your bank to take money out of your account to pay off your debt. If this happens, you cannot use that money in your account.

Why am I receiving this notice?

On February 10th 2017   we received a garnishment order from a court to [freeze/remove] funds in your account. The amount of the garnishment order was for $750.25. We are sending you this notice to let you know what we have done in response to the garnishment order. You can contact your creditor for the settlement amount.

If you have any questions about the garnishment, you should contact the persons named on the included Summons of Garnishment by email.

    Sincerely,
    Jonathan McNichols
