Scamming and billing through ATT
Complaint

I was hijacked by these people. My ATT bill was hacked into and LUCKILY ATT credited me for the two months of $51.20 (charges for each month). I cannot get a hold of them- they put you on hold and you have to listen to loud reggae music until you can't stand it any longer and hang up!
I found the FCC site and made out a complaint claim online.
ATT has been really gracious to me. They will keep an eye out on me future statements (as will I!) but I feel this is not the end of it.
STUPID STUPID scammers...I am so incensed. All I did was answer the phone and some idiot lady tried to get me into a FREE website directory. I said no, but all she needed was my phone number I guess.
Grrrrrrrr you HAVE to watch your back at all times in this world.

they have the right to bill your phone number charges from their subscribers.
Good Luck Finding who actually billed you.
My Service Rep. @ VERIZON was very understanding , they put a block on my number for 3rd party bills, and, removed the 18.83 from my bill because
they could not get them to answer the phone at "THE BILLING RESOURCE"
They allow AT&T to bill for other companies.
I was billed for $18.83 and have been credited.
Shame on our government and AT&T for allowing this!
This is not the only time that I was scammed by AT&T. Approximatly 20 years ago, whenever I placed a long distance number, say in another county in my state, the phone would ring, but no answer, I would hang up. AT&T billed me for these calls. I learned from friends that once a "connection" was made, EVEN WHEN THE PARTY WAS NOT CONTACTED, AT&T billed the call. That was when I dropped AT&T for long distance.
Many years later when I relocated to another state, I took along the same long distance company that I had been using, and was forced to sign up with AT&T for local calls as they were the only company available (local calls only). My first month bill was outrageous; approxiamatly $600.00. AT&T scammed me! They over-rode my long distance company and made my calls something like "person to person" I can't remember for sure, but it was something different than "normal" long distance calling. I called AT&T and had a screaming match with the Manager. It was appalling and shocking he lied by insisting that I had signed long-distance with AT&T. I had to settle with a much lower charge with AT&T, but still it was extremely more than my regular long distance company would have charged. I am very scared using AT&T, but I do not have a TV and I only need internet and land phone service, and it seems AT&T is the only one I can get that service from, in my knowledge.
They came up with multiple excuses for this last charge...
One person said it was fraud, one said it was a charge made in texas for someone elses account, one person said they just "accidentally double charged me for a month and a half". One person said that the larger amount was the initial price of my services with the deduction of the deposit they had made, and about 15 people DIDNT KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT! The charge was not even showing up on my account and the only way to access it was by entering my credit card information (which I have now had to cancel)
WHAT HAPPENED TO 25 DOLLARS!?!?!?!
