ICICI is the least trustworthy bank I have encountered in all my experience with banks. This is regarding a transaction for $3000 initiated on Jan-12. Here is the chronology of the transaction:

Jan 12: Transaction initiated

Jan 19: Money debited from my account

Feb 1: I call in and raise a service request

Feb 3: No response from ICICI team, so I call back.

The service representative tells me that a response has been sent (I have not received anything), and that I might not have received it because something might be wrong with gmail.com. Seriously? What a complete moron - I explain to him I have received more than 50 emails over the last 2 days, and this is the ONLY email that I have not received - Why? After that, I explain my problem. Money has been debited from my account, but not been dispatched - why? Get this - he says, draft has been dispatched and received. When I ask for the name of the person who signed for it, that is someone I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF. The beneficiary of the DD and the DD recipient are the same. How the heck can ICICI allow someone else to sign for it? I then say that the status on the website says something else (money received). A previous transaction I had executed successfully (where the money actually reached) showed a status of "Draft Dispatched" and gave me details of the courier, DD number etc. But this does not have anything - why? This is what the customer rep says - "the website has changed now sir". I can't believe that ICICI is this lax and irresponsible with such important transactions. So I raise a complaint request, verify that it has been raised with the representative and ten hang up.

Feb 3 (10 mins later): I realize that ICICI can't be trusted, and call back to get the SR for this request.

When I ask the customer rep for my new service request, she said that I have not raised any! According to her, the last time I have called is on Feb-1. This is absolutely unacceptable. It is one thing if ICICI makes a mistake on the transaction. But it is completely something else to blatantly lie to the customer. So either this rep, or the one that I spoke to before lied to my face. This time I raised another SR (SR165917141) and hung up.

ICICI representative, if you are monitoring this website, read this: For providing deficient service, you have CIVIL liability to me to fix the issue. But when an employee of your company willfully lies and misrepresents facts, I can press CRIMINAL (tort) charges against you. And mark my words - I have successfully won against your company previously in the courts, and I am very well prepared to do it again. Give me my money back.

Other readers: Do not trust ICICI with your money. Other banks (HDFC, ING Vysya, Citibank, etc.) are far more reliable, and even if something does go wrong, they fix it, instead of trying to dodge the issue.

Even im also a victim of the great money2india servcie.

I have been using ICICI money2India for 4/5 years and i trasferred some amount 2 weeks back and the request statsus is still "Request Received".when i wrote a amil to them they asked to send screen-shots and blah blan..i provided all the evidences what they asked and after that there is no mail from them..after sending out many reminder mails they dont even care to drop a single line mail stating what is going on.
Its really frustating..atleast they should care for their long-run exiting customers..if anyone has any info on how to escalate the issue to their higher management please let me know.

In emergency I sent money through ICICI Money2India and got email that your request is received. Then after few days I got to know money has not been sent to beneficiary account in India. I called ICICI and then they said, sent us transaction copy, screen shot of your bank statement, etc. I sent this 3 times as every time I used to sent and call customer care they used to ask me the same. After 3 days 1 customer service rep told me that our system is down since 3 days. Means whatever I did was useless. Then she told me to call on next day, i.e. on Saturday. When I called on Saturday and told full story to another representative, he told me technical team doesn't work on Saturdays & Sundays. So I called him on Monday this time I got an answer that your request will be solved in 24 to 48 working hrs after receiving your email, when I told that I am sending emails since last 1 week, then she said our system started working today itself so from now 24 to 48 hrs. When I realize these people are hopeless, I arrange money from my friend in India and sent to that person to whom I wanted to sent.   I am still tracing my with ICICI. MORAL: NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER USE money2indis IN EMERGENCY. THEY ARE SIMPLY HOPELESS. If they cant track money why they ask us to send proof of sending money to local bank? Its problem in their system.

    Hi Sujata

I did some transfer money for my friend and the money wasnt recieved. After a week when we checked there was no money been send. She kept on calling them but no response. I said her to wait and let me do something. I simply emailed them I am taking this case to TIO in Australia and then do whatever you like. Do blame if things went out of Control. Within 2 hours they replied that bank account no. is wrong and they will send the Money in 48 hours. After 2 days money was send. So it took for us 2 weeks.

Never use this service again as they always misinform customers and process the remittance at the lowest possible rate during the transfer. Should report them to FTC and RBI

What is crappy service ICICI is providing. I sent money to India from Australia on 24 Oct, and still after 2 weeks, the money hasn't been received. They say that the account no. is wrong, but i sent the money to same a/c twice before and it worked. They asked me for some other information too, and i have provided them the required info nearly three times now, but still they are so reluctant and useless that they send me the same email everyday requiring the same info, without giving me any feedback about the info I provided them with..frustrated...

I have used Money2India for last 5 years. They typically did an OK job. I transferred USD 7500 on 25th Oct and they reached my ICICI NRI account on 28th Oct. To my dismay and surprise, ICICI then took $7500 more from my US local bank account without my authorization and never transerred it to any account. They just simply stole it. I have been calling for last 15 days and I get no answers. I have been asked to submit a bunch of paperwork and it has been useless. NO reply whatsoever. Does anybody know how I can sue them in the US?

Transferred $7500 through ICICI Money2India service. Received an exchange rate less by Rs1 per USD in November, 2011. When I complained to the bank, I received standard responses from the customer care several times. I checked the exchange rate when money was claimed to deposited to my NRE account. The echange rate was off Rs1 per 1USD.. Customers should avoid this ICICI Money2India service, which is a rip off service.

Never ever use ICICI money2india for transferring money.

To put it simply, they don't have common sense and they don't use brain to solve customer issues.

The biggest dupers and they deserve to be blacklisted. The bank transfer the fund sin the beneficiary account based on the exchange rate which is favorable to them. I did 3 transactions and during all 3 of them they used the lower exchange rate.

Seems like they are not willing to up their standards of customer service no matter how bad the feedback is. I am transfering money to a non-ICICI bank in Mumbai and they cannot seem to accept the bank account number in the format that my bank is providing. They say they have trried twice but it has been rejected by the receiving bank.

Seems like they don't want to help resolve the issue.

BIG moronic idiots are these reps of Money2India. I am not able to reset my password since a YEAR, yes and YEAR and I get all sorts of crap of systems down, some one will call you, some supervisor will call you to solve your issue. I tried to register a new account and use my local bank account, but it doesn't allow me saying your old account has this local account. I wrote 1000s of times to their nri@icicibank.com, 100s of calls an nothing works.

I wrote to even their head service quality and no word. Most of their complaint pages on their site won;t work as they don;t take complaints as I filled complaint and submitted and it complained that the page I am accessing is not working. I've exhausted all the options I think to get my account closed.

Now I understand why the UK and US locals desist these crook reps and equally the execs for silly answers and crappy reasons.

I did transaction recently of a considerable big amount, but Money2India given lowest possible exchange rate of that week.I was tracking exchange rate almost every two hours in ICICI bank portal , exchange rate was consistent for almost whole week but when my transaction happen at that time exchange rate I seen in ICICI bank portal it become atrandom very low for 2-3 hrs then again I checked after 2-3 Hrs it become good exchange rate. I got huge loss because of this clever trick played by bank. What I think, they collect money for whole week and they do transection probably twice a week of Money2India money. and they define there transection rate very low for few hrs and in that time they do all transection so that benificiary gets low trans rate...

Singh, Exactly same happened to me this week. And when I called service desk, they said they don't know yesterday's rate. To find out rate, I need to send an email to nri@icic..... So, surprising that they(service desk dumb people) don't know the rate... Most unreliable bank and hired dumb people for service desk intentionally. On top of that have complicated process for getting information(like exchange rate). Service desk is trained to repeat a few sentences like "We give competitive rate", "On other websites, rates are indicative", "Please send email to nri@icic..... ", "superviser cannot help, best way to get help is via email"..

When I asked the agent: why are you sitting there if you don't have basic info, the answers was "To attend your calls". Basically, ICICI intentionally hires these dumb people.
