ICICI is the least trustworthy bank I have encountered in all my experience with banks. This is regarding a transaction for $3000 initiated on Jan-12. Here is the chronology of the transaction:

Jan 12: Transaction initiated

Jan 19: Money debited from my account

Feb 1: I call in and raise a service request

Feb 3: No response from ICICI team, so I call back.

The service representative tells me that a response has been sent (I have not received anything), and that I might not have received it because something might be wrong with gmail.com. Seriously? What a complete moron - I explain to him I have received more than 50 emails over the last 2 days, and this is the ONLY email that I have not received - Why? After that, I explain my problem. Money has been debited from my account, but not been dispatched - why? Get this - he says, draft has been dispatched and received. When I ask for the name of the person who signed for it, that is someone I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF. The beneficiary of the DD and the DD recipient are the same. How the heck can ICICI allow someone else to sign for it? I then say that the status on the website says something else (money received). A previous transaction I had executed successfully (where the money actually reached) showed a status of "Draft Dispatched" and gave me details of the courier, DD number etc. But this does not have anything - why? This is what the customer rep says - "the website has changed now sir". I can't believe that ICICI is this lax and irresponsible with such important transactions. So I raise a complaint request, verify that it has been raised with the representative and ten hang up.

Feb 3 (10 mins later): I realize that ICICI can't be trusted, and call back to get the SR for this request.

When I ask the customer rep for my new service request, she said that I have not raised any! According to her, the last time I have called is on Feb-1. This is absolutely unacceptable. It is one thing if ICICI makes a mistake on the transaction. But it is completely something else to blatantly lie to the customer. So either this rep, or the one that I spoke to before lied to my face. This time I raised another SR (SR165917141) and hung up.

ICICI representative, if you are monitoring this website, read this: For providing deficient service, you have CIVIL liability to me to fix the issue. But when an employee of your company willfully lies and misrepresents facts, I can press CRIMINAL (tort) charges against you. And mark my words - I have successfully won against your company previously in the courts, and I am very well prepared to do it again. Give me my money back.

Other readers: Do not trust ICICI with your money. Other banks (HDFC, ING Vysya, Citibank, etc.) are far more reliable, and even if something does go wrong, they fix it, instead of trying to dodge the issue.

This bank has the worst service history and should be reported to a Banking Ombudsman if ever there is any in India. They should spend more money on training their staff to meet basic customer needs than paying Shah Rukh Khan to advertise for them. In fact if Mr Khan knew how poor their service was I am sure he would not want to damage his carefully built image by endorsing a crap bank!!!!

I did a money transfer of 2000 euros on 6th august 2012 from france to India through icici money2india. They claim that they haven't received the money. I sent them all screenshots and gave reference number saying that money has already been debited from my bank account in France. They have provided a service request number but inspite of several emails, so far I haven't got a concrete answer. I wish to escalate this issue. Does anybody know to whom this issue can be escalated?

    Hi users,

I am completely fed up with Money2India Service. I need your help guys, please let me know if there is any way to escalate the matter to their higher management. ICICI money2india is spoiling the name of INDIA by adding the name with it. Today is 31st January, 2013  and i transferred funds on 8th January, 2013 (Transaction ID: M2A09164213 , but still my money is on hold by their F***** back end team. They asked me for the screenshot of my transaction and i provided them twice, once the screenshot and next the whole monthly statement. But this idiot do not give a damn to their customers, they are not at all responsible for their service.  I am tired of calling them, can anyone help me with this problem.

    Hi All,

I transferred £4000 on 14 June and the amount being debited from the local bank but has not credited in the beneficiary account. I really can't remember how many times I called,  email'd to ICICI. I also have spoken to many managers, supervisors etc... because this was quite big amount for me and I did not want to loose...I have not got any profession way of approach from ICICI and no one want to take the ownership and help the customer.

After several followups, I was really luck to get my money back. I will never go with ICICI Money2India .... One more thing I learned from this, PLEASE DO NOT TRANSFER MONEY ONLINE.. NO ONE WILL TAKE THE OWNERSHIP.. ITS ALL IN OUR OWN RISK.. DOES NOT MATTER WHICHEVER THE BANK YOU DETAL WITH. .. IT IS THE FACT AND IT IS ALL WRITTEN IN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS....

I WILL NEVER GO WITH ICICI... WORST BANK I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH....

I have used Money2India in the past and did not have a bad experience except for delays in crediting my account in India. I stopped using the service for a while. I tried using it today and the following is my experience:
    1. Tried logging in gut forgot password. Used the option to reset the password.
    2. used the revised Password to login
    3. Was prompted with a  message saying that I had not used the service in a while and have to re-register. I was logged in to the home page
    4. I added a receiver in India.
    5. Tried to process payment.
    6. Got a message saying "you are not authorized to process more than 0.0 USD"
    7. Tried processing a couple of time. Same error
    8. I called ICICI helpdesk 1866 ICICI 4U. Support is surprisingly good. Happy that I can talk to a live representative. That luxury is gone in the US nowadays!
    9. The support guy checked and told me that "I had to open a new account as this account was inactive and I could not activate it ever"
    10. I told him that was fine, I can open a new one. But why did it allow me to register a new receiver when the account was inactive. Poor guy did not know an answer. I did not bug him further as I knew i could not get anywhere.
    11. I gave up.

This service is pathetic and is no way near intuitive. Use only at your peril.
