almost a victim of fraud

I had an Advanta credit card account that was settled in June of 2010
SOOOO- When I received letterd from the SCUMBAGS at Carson Smithfield, I sent them a copy of the letter and check to Advanta - this was a one page photocopy.and I wrote on their payment stub "This account has already been settled- see attached"
Next thing I know- that same check is showing as a pending transaction on my account.
I went to the bank to try to resolve the issue. They put a 24 hour block on the account so that the check would not post, then they put a stop payment on the check.
The photocopy of the check was bounced back to the bank they deposited it at-
The stop payment order states clearly- DUPLICATE original check was submitted and paid on acct 6/30/10- this is fraud.
Still trying to figure out who to complain to about this so they xan be prosecuted.
Filed a complaint with FTC, contacted Attorney General's Office, consumer protection unit- who referred me to the OCC. The OCC only deals with bad banks though

Your mom can call in and talk to anyone about the account. All information is available regarding the account. If you wish to call in and get info, call with your mother available so she can verbally authorize release of confidential information to you. There are privacy laws regarding that. Just call the 866 # available on thier website.
It sounds like there are autopayments each month.
If you want those to stop or modify the payment plan, just call in.

To answer the question about monthly statements since the acct is charged off and closed no more fees or interest are being added to the account. So your balence is not going up so the system will not generate a statement. You can call in and request a balance letter or a payment receipt letter. We are here to work with all of our customers to find the best solution to resolve your account either by paying in full or doing a settlement.
going to happened if i don't pay i am trying to pay off three loan companies and when i
pay one or two off then i can pay but that won't be tell March of 2017 i am worried
and that makes me have small seizures and i called them and told them they'd
said nothing but told me to start paying that was it !
He said that their offer letters are auto generated and the language in it offers 35 days to make payment but this is a special deal that he wont extend for 35 days.
I recorded the call with him , with his permission, where he lays out the deal.
Any suggestions?
