CIC CE Credit Report took $12.95 from my checking account without my permission. In addition they turned out to be running a marketing scam which promises $500 in Lowe's gift certificate. I've decided to try to get the certificate and followed the steps where you provide your information to different companies.
The first section was alright and ultimately did not cost me anything but after completing the requirements for one section it would move you to another section each time promising that this would be the last section. In all I submitted to Blockbuster Video and receiving movies from them via mail, I was able to contact them and cancel the deal.
Then several major credit card companies of which I was not approved and therefore not eligible to move past those sections it was impossible for me to reach the end. In addition was Columbia house video which would not except my cancellation and I am still fighting with.
Then several on-line business opportunities one of which I contacted but after finding it to be a pyramid type set-up promptly backed out of but still receive a minimum of two phone calls every other day from (602) 279-5491 and (171) 384-8386.
In addition my e-mail has been bombarded with junk e-mail from different companies of which no matter how many times I un-subscribe continue to send me more than sixty e-mails a day many of them duplicated 6-8 times and being sent at the same time.

I will still report this company to the better business bureau!!! I am infuriated!
Be stong, dont take no for an answer because they are full of [***] and they are afraid to get caught. Be assertive when you talk to these people, intimidation is the only way they will give a damn about what you say!
While I wasn't thrilled with the manner in which this transaction took place, they do indeed inform you that you'll be charged for the service. It's printed on the page where you enter you cc info and click the "submit" button when ordering you're report. It's part of the terms and it's up to the consumer to read the terms.
The passage below is from their website. It lists a different number than most of people have been quoting.
"If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can cancel anytime to discontinue your membership to Triple Advantage Credit Monitoring and stop the monthly billing. However, you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of your current month's paid membership fee. To cancel, please contact Customer Care at 1-888-829-6560."
When I called them the customer service person told me yes I had cancelled, yes I was given a free month, and that was why I am now being charged again as my "free month" was over. She said they could cancel it again so I would not be charged in the future. I asked about a refund for this month and was told no, I would not receive a refund since it was already billed for this month. After explaining that I cancelled the service and was told I would not be billed again she said she could "check with a supervisor" and call me back. I told her I'd hold while she did that. After a minute she came back and said they would refund the money.
While this company has a service they certainly scam their customers into renewing month after month. This has to amount to millions of dollars.
She called and cancelled and got charged again so she called again,the lady said the last time she called she asked for her username and password but now it would be cancelled.
I guess we will see huh
