CIC CE Credit Report took $12.95 from my checking account without my permission. In addition they turned out to be running a marketing scam which promises $500 in Lowe's gift certificate. I've decided to try to get the certificate and followed the steps where you provide your information to different companies.

The first section was alright and ultimately did not cost me anything but after completing the requirements for one section it would move you to another section each time promising that this would be the last section. In all I submitted to Blockbuster Video and receiving movies from them via mail, I was able to contact them and cancel the deal.


Then several major credit card companies of which I was not approved and therefore not eligible to move past those sections it was impossible for me to reach the end. In addition was Columbia house video which would not except my cancellation and I am still fighting with.

Then several on-line business opportunities one of which I contacted but after finding it to be a pyramid type set-up promptly backed out of but still receive a minimum of two phone calls every other day from (602) 279-5491 and (171) 384-8386.

In addition my e-mail has been bombarded with junk e-mail from different companies of which no matter how many times I un-subscribe continue to send me more than sixty e-mails a day many of them duplicated 6-8 times and being sent at the same time.

Don't fall for this scam and stay away from CIC CE Credit Report

    I just got a $12.95 charge on my account from this bussiness.  I called my bank immediately to see if there was anyway to stop the pending transaction and they said i would need to contact the business. So I then called CIC CE credit report at 800-388-8725, a woman explained to me that i didnt cancel after 7 days which is why I was charged, and i explained that thats [***] and i wouldnt have it (in more professional wording).  After i was told that my money would not be refunded, i told the woman that i would report this company to the necessary officials to get an investigation started and that i would report them to the better business bureau.  I also informed the woman that i knew they were a corrupt company that was using fine print to get people's money, and they would get caught. I then demanded to speak to a suporvisor.  After being on hold for about a minute, the woman came back on the line to tell me my money would be refunded.

    I will still report this company to the better business bureau!!!  I am infuriated!

    Be stong, dont take no for an answer because they are full of [***] and they are afraid to get caught.  Be assertive when you talk to these people, intimidation is the only way they will give a damn about what you say!

    Credit reports are free once per year whereas the credit score is not free, it is a separate service and one that you pay for.

    While I wasn't thrilled with the manner in which this transaction took place, they do indeed inform you that you'll be charged for the service. It's printed on the page where you enter you cc info and click the "submit" button when ordering you're report. It's part of the terms and it's up to the consumer to read the terms.

    The passage below is from their website. It lists a different number than most of people have been quoting.

    "If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can cancel anytime to discontinue your membership to Triple Advantage Credit Monitoring and stop the monthly billing. However, you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of your current month's paid membership fee. To cancel, please contact Customer Care at 1-888-829-6560."

    Noticed my checking account was debited for $12.95 by CIC*CE CREDIT REPORT 8003888725 01. I had called and cancelled the account back in January. At that time they offered me a "free month" as a Thank You for my business. I asked if that meant I'd ever be charged again and was told no! Today I got charged for the renewed service.

    When I called them the customer service person told me yes I had cancelled, yes I was given a free month, and that was why I am now being charged again as my "free month" was over. She said they could cancel it again so I would not be charged in the future. I asked about a refund for this month and was told no, I would not receive a refund since it was already billed for this month. After explaining that I cancelled the service and was told I would not be billed again she said she could "check with a supervisor" and call me back. I told her I'd hold while she did that. After a minute she came back and said they would refund the money.

    While this company has a service they certainly scam their customers into renewing month after month. This has to amount to millions of dollars.

    My credit card was stolen and people were charging $39.95 to my card and getting credit reports.  This piece of sh*t company said I needed a police report to get the charges taken off, but I called chase and they are refunding the money

    I have been hit by thi s web site too /to the tune of 39.95!!  after an email and phone calls to my card company and to a rep. of CIC*CE I have been told the service will be cancelled after I pay that amount.  I will keep watching this business  and my card very carefully. What do we have to put up with next??

    we know the feeling my girl friend applied and cacelled and kept getting the 12.95 charge.
    She called and cancelled and got charged again so she called again,the lady said the last time she called she asked for her username and password but now it would be cancelled.
    I guess we will see huh

    I had that same thing happen to me,24.95 for free credit report.got my card info ,so i got a new card, plus 1.00 extra ,what end up paying 25.95 a big ripoff

    39.99 charge. Total fraud. Filed a police report because this is on my wifes card and they hit my credit card last week and I have been on and off for years.

    My card company gave me a phone number.
