Lost my job, missed my COBRA deadline and searching for Low-cost Health Insurance...got a message that I was "approved" in spite of pre-existing conditons...had just been told by Cigna that they could not cover pre-existing conditions....I had been diagnosed with Cancer in 2011..."Jason" sounded legit Until I was told they needed $314 plus a $99 "application fee" upfront on my credit card right now....and I could see the policy AFTER I paid them...

I am a REAL health insurance agent from the REAL US Health Group. We do not have a $99 activation fee. There is an initiation fee that is $40 for medically qualifying plans and $100 for guaranteed issue plans; HOWEVER, if you choose to not accept the plan NO MONEY is taken from you. It's important to note that our home office, based in Fort Worth DOES NOT take your premium or initiation fee until your plan goes into force.
The plans we offer absolutely ARE legitimate health insurance plans. Unfortunately, there are many using our name to take advantage of unsuspecting consumers. One thing you can do is ask for the agent's state license number and even their national producer number. Agents SHOULD ALWAYS be happy to share that information. There are also some that offer a discount plan that they market as health insurance. The sellers DO NOT need to be licensed to sell these programs so DO NOT purchase them. Work ONLY with licensed agents. I hope that I've clarified some things for you. We are legitimate agents offering legitimate plans; in fact, I am on my own plan with my 11-year-old son. I wouldn't use it for my son if I didn't believe in it. Please let me know if I can be of service to you or at least consult you further, don't hesitate to contact me at kevinr4ins@gmail.com or call me at 903-229-6900. I'm licensed in TX, OK, KS, MO, MS, AL, MT. My TX License number is #1603193. Have a great day, Brenda. My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I don't get to this page very often. It's always best to reach out to me.
Kindest regards,
Kevin Reese
I'm so sorry. I hadn't visited in a while and truthfully forgot where this thread was. I know this response is to your old inquiry and I apologize but here are the facts. US Health Group is based in Fort Worth, TX. We do offer legitimate health insurance plans from comprehensive traditional type coverage with deductibles, coinsurance, etc, to fixed indemnity benefit plans and even guaranteed issue fixed indemnity plans. Most of our plans are not ACA compliant but we do also offer ACA compliant coverage, too. Agents like me are licensed, legitimate, integrity based insurance producers; of course some agents and non-agents (touting discount plans as insurance for mind-blowing low rates) truly make things difficult for those of us truly looking out for clients' best interests. That said, US Health Group does NOT offer plan in California and there is NOT a $99 fee. We do have some plans with a $40 initial fee or a $100 (not $99) but these are NOT taken up front. They are taken with your first premium. If you use a credit card to handle that first premium and initial fee and you choose not to accept the policy, or are not approved, you get everything back. If you pay through electronic draft, that draft doesn't occur until AFTER the policy is approved and goes into force. After the initial payment, payments can be made my direct billing (mail) or electronic draft. Clients can leave their plans whenever they want.
If you have anymore questions, you can email me at kevinr4ins@gmail.com.
Hope that helps!
There is no value at all to paying money for "insurance" when all they do is take your money and disappear when you have a claim. That's how cons work.
I just want to find affordable health insurance. I was let go from an employer and my insurance ended February 28th. I have medical conditions and I am having difficulty trying to get through all the crap and scams for health insurance. If I even just pull up a website, I get bombarded with phone calls!!! Obamacare SUCKS!
Right from the site: http://obamacarefacts.com/minimum-essential-coverage/
" Minimum Essential Coverage is the type of coverage you’ll need to avoid the fee for not having insurance under ObamaCare (the Affordable Care Act). In order to be in compliance with the law you must maintain minimum essential coverage throughout the year, get an exemption, or pay a fee for each month you go without it (although you are allowed less than three months in a row each year without coverage, due to a coverage gap exemption). You’ll report minimum essential coverage on your Federal Income Taxes for each month you or a dependent had coverage."
Sorry but facts are facts, and please, someone, anyone, correct me if I am wrong. I paid 627/mo in 2014 for my wife & myself, 713/mo in 2015, and my rate jumped yet again to 924/mo for 2016. This is a BCBS plan and has a deductable of 4750, pays 80/20 w/co-pays to dr and e.r., Rx were $8 but did go down to $3 for 2016. Its not a terrible plan, but it sure does hit the wallet!! It would be a blessing if there was something out there that was accepted as minimum coverage that was more afforable and yet COVERED as well.. Heck, come 2017 our premium is going to be more than our house pymt a month
:( Our saving grace here, we are self employed so this is a tax write off.
