We have used State Street Tire several times over the past few years for both tires and car repairs.  We have always found them to be fair on price and on service.

I recently went to State Street Tire for some new wheel and tire mounting. I'm a car enthusiast, so I already had purchased my wheels and tires.

I had previously been to SST before to put on Winter Tires which only took them 15 minutes. Great service then.

I had an appointment with them recently to have everything put on, first thing in the morning. Took them about 3 hours, but they also had the guy working on my car doing other work before mine.

I wasn't happy being there for 3 hours, but Ross notified me I needed different lugs for my new wheels, and really went out of his way to help me out. He provided me some lugs right on site, and even drove me down to the Auto Store (prior to) to help me find some. They are all great guys there, and I think mainly my wait time was because of how busy they were.

Now with the new wheels and tires I am receiving an enormous amount of torque steer. I will be taking my car to SST to allow them to troubleshoot and resolve my issue here.

All shops will have their issues, but usually if you give an honest business a second chance, they will typically come through. Give SST the benefit of the doubt.

I took my truck to SST to replace the brake calipers that had been fiercely sticking.  SST called the next day to say they needed to replace the calipers.  I questioned if the pads and rotors didn't need replaced.  They told me "no, they were fine."  Of course I was puzzled at the response.  SST called me later same day to say they had goofed and that I actually needed the brake pads.  I said "Ok, but what about the rotors?"  SST said the rotors were fine.  Needless to say, as I was driving out of town on vaca a few days later, the steering wheel was shaking sooo bad every time I'd put on the brakes on the highway, that I thought the wheels were going to pop off.  Had to stop off in Northfield at a station to have the rotors replaced.  Not a happy camper.  As far as I am concerned, they placed me in a dangerous situation.  I had asked multiple times if the rotors needed replaced and was told each time they were OK.  Thank goodness for Kutchta's Bros. of Macedonia for saving me.  I stopped at their station around 8:30am and was out by 10:30am.  They were able to squeeze me in as there was three vehicles in our caravan to PA and a bunch of kids.  The staff were very professional, quick and gave me a reasonable price. God bless Kutcha's Sonoco station. I recommend them very highly.

Took truck to State Street for brake calipers replacements.  I questioned several times if rotors needed replaced.  Told each time that the rotors were fine.  When leaving out of town on vaca, every time I touched the brakes, steering wheel shook wildly left and right.  Thinking lug nuts weren't on tight, I pulled into Sunoco station for evaluation.  Found out rotors were warped and brake fluid leaking d/t line not tightened correctly.  Of course I had the rotors replaced and paid $224 after already paying $562 to State Street.  After getting back home from vaca, I went to State Street to lodge complaint.  They told me owner was not in and they would relay my concern.  Was told I would receive a call in a couple of days.  By four days later, I had received no call so I went back to State Street to inquire about my complaint.  Once again, I was told the owner was not in and I would receive a call in a couple of days.  That was on 8/6/11, today is 8/26/11 and I still have not heard from them.  Needless to say, I nor my friends, will ever patronize SST again.  So frustrated with being blown off.

Ross hung up on me two times when I tried to get through to him that he put only three quarts (the record shows) of the eight required into my transmission during a routine filter change.  I assume that the extra cost per quart became the reason to short me and reduce his profits.  A recent computer scan from midas shows a hot transmission record. This lead to my engine blowing due to thousands of miles of extra drag. Who knows how long the transmission will keep on shifting. Ross, you have no respect for anyone just a buck. I tried to talk on the phone but you hung up on me in two different occassions. How many thousands of dollars have I spent there throughout the years? You then said that I always complain. When I asked for you to name just one time that I complained, you eventually said that "Your right...I'll eat crow." You must have that same complain statement canned for anyone who complains about any big expense that you might incurr due to you policies.

After filing a complaint with the BBB, owner of SST called to apologize and refund the money I paid at the shop in Macedonia.  It makes me believe that perhaps the staff at the Robinson Rd. shop did not tell him of my concern. So, I'm happy to report the case is closed.

Greg your truck would not be able to move if you only had 3 quarts of transmission fluid in it, if you dont believe me ask any one who knows anything about cars. I cherish my customers but when I am yelled and screamed at I will not tolerate that behavior. You took me to court over this matter and you lost and I would appreciate you taking this negative false story down.

What a great place. Ross and his staff took care of me better than the other tire shiop I had been going to for 30 years. He sold me a set of tires, I was not able to afford, for same price as the ones I was going to get. I watched as he helped customer after customer come in and provide them with the best level of service and expertise. I highly recommend Sate Street Tire!

So many people posted on this it can't really be considered a complaint anymore with all the positive reviews. I think this posting should be removed as it slanders the business. An all those who posted such positive things about the business, it is very much appreciated.
