A message was left on my voicemail by someone named Susan, that I had been accepted and approved for health insurance as of midnight tonight which was Aug 15th.  Not realizing that this was not the company that I had applied to, I called Susan back and a person answered and said Susan would call me right back, she did not ask for my phone number. So, I waited for about 30 minutes and called back.  I asked to speak to Susan and was told (the same voice from the first call) that she was on another line and she asked how could she help me.  I told her that I was calling because Susan had left a message that I have been accepted and approved for health insurance as of midnight on Aug. 15.  The person on the other end became very rude, and said only my quote had been accepted.  I said what do you mean, only my quote had been accepted, she became very rude and said, "Don't you know what a quote it?  I said Susan stated that my application had been approved.  She said hold on so that I can get someone to explain to you what a quote is.  She put me on hold for a few minutes and came back with some rude statement and stated Susan was busy since you do not know what a quote is. After hang up I went back and listened to the message that was left on my voice mail.  Here is exactly how it was spoken by Susan: " Your application have been accepted and approved as of midnight today (Aug 15).  I was out of town and called Susan back today which is Aug. 18 to confirmed that I had coverage and to ask a few questions about the new policy.

They don't run on Cigna, they run on Cigna Great West, it's a completely different company. They misrepresent themselves to induce people to buy their policies which breaks all the Unfair Trade Practice laws. They need to be reported!

I have USHEALTH Group, pharmacy is not good, dr. visits not good. I did ask around if anyone has heard of this plan and of course no one has. I just happened to get a call from a Mark @ USASELECT Choice. Lower rates and of course he did tell  me it's a better plan than what I have. Has anyone heard of this company

I talked to a woman named Anita there today, same phone number. She also told me they were associated with Cigna, which is a nationally known company. She quoted me $389 per month for my husband an myself, with no deductables, includes dental, vision and hearing also. Has anybody heard of this before? There was also  $99 application fee . Thanks!

I just spoke with USHealth Group in response to a quote request I posted. They claimed to associated with Cigna. They quoted me $653 month for family and a $125 processing fee. 0 deduct./0 to little coins/0 copays. They stated they would cover pre-existing if they received a letter from my former insurance company. I looked at the BBB website and there are only 2 complaints. Is this a scam? Help!

I was called by Susan (note one other commenter was also called by someone named Susan) shortly after two today. Actually, the routine is an automated message whereby you can hit "3" to disconnect or "1" if you want more info. "1" led to another automated message with slightly more info. Health insurance is something I am interested in, so I hit "1". I was distracted by something that was going on so I hung up, but "Susan" called me and began asking me about health. She first claimed to represent a company called Homeland something. When she started pushing me to suggest how much I would be willing to pay for health insurance, I said that I would like to know more about Homeland. She smoothly deflected this question and continued talking about how much I wanted to pay for health coverage. When I said that I had no idea, she first told me there were three levles of cost in the plans she could offer. She suggested I consider the "middle" level which she said cost 200 and something a month. When I resisted this, she suggested that there were two levels lower than that and she cited plans costing 169 and then 131 or 139. I did not point out the problem, but this should be apparent to the observant reader: The most expensive of the THREE plans was initially introduced as the "middle" plan. When I suggested I would like to think this over before making any commitment and asked for written material, Susan revealed that she already had my current address. (She had my name from the get go.) She told me that the plans we were talking about were represented by US Health Group, a variation on the "US Health" company names mentioned in previous comments. Perhaps it is interesting that she did not become nasty when I suggested sending me something in the mail the way she or her colleagues apparently did when other commenters asked for written material. I am not holding my breath until such materials arrive. At this point I am inclined to put such material in the circular file.

Here are three phone numbers used by Homeland Health, US Health Group, Freedom Life or whatever name they are using:

    469-324-5140, 954-861-1730, 800-317-4701.

No doubt they have more phone numbers.

I have already checked on this AWA Insurance Co. I had even enrolled and given them a check then, my senses came into play, when checking I found no one gives them a favorable comment. How in the world do we find Companies that are legit?

I believe many of you are talking about two or maybe three different companies. When I began reading the posts on this site, it was supposed to be about US Health Advisors, but many of you are writing about US Health Group and CIGNA; these are all different companies. I know that US Health Advisors has been around for over 75 years and have done a great job for me and my family here in Chicago.

For those people who are suspect about a policy that has no deductible, you can always choose a plan that has one and lower your monthly premium. Also, in Illinois, policy holders of ANY life and health insurance company have a 30-day Free Look period to inspect the policy upon receipt. If the policy-holder decides it is not what they want, they can return it for a full refund that must be returned to them within 30 days.

There are so many insurance companies out there that have names similar to other companies and I believe it is to fool people into believing they are the same company. Do some research and find out about the owners are and their different name changes over the years. Compare notes about each company. Also, contact the insurance department of the state in which you live, they will have unbiased information about each company; including complaints.

Unfortunately you are mistaken...US Health Advisors and US Health Group are the same company. I worked for them for about a month. They changed the name right before I started working for them and consistently called themselves "US Health Group, formerly known as US Health Advisors". They also used to be known as Capstone. They are underwritten by Freedom Life Insurance Company and they are reinsured through Credit Suisse, so when they go bankrupt, all of their policyholders will still have their medical claims paid. They've had several bail outs from Credit Suisse, due to their accident and critical illness endorsements that you can purchase in addition to your health plans. These plans pay out a significant lump sum if you're ever diagnosed with a critical illness or suffer from a major freak accident. Unforutnately they had a lot of claims for these two endorsements and were just about wiped out. Credit Suisee had to come to the rescue, which is why they have an AM best rating of a B-. All heath insurance companies run on Preferred Provider Organizations. US Health Advisors/Group tell people they run on Cigna, which is incorrect, they run on Cigna Great West which is not the same company. That is why you have "in" network doctors and "out" of network doctors. I have been in the insurance industry for a few years and have seen some unethical practices of health insurance companies, especially through US Health Advisors. Of course their service and legitimacy varies from state to state. I'm glad to hear you're happy with their services in Illinois, however the offices here in North Carolina, are nothing but a scam.

All I know is this. My wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer late last year. We did not catch it soon enough. My wife spent over one month battling in the hospital. We received a check while in the hospital for over 34,000 beyond the claim being paid wonderfully and fast.  To Linda and I, it was a lifesaver as we had the extra money for me to be with her.  More important to me perhaps than her, but we battled together. God sent. They did above and beyond for Linda. We have their secure advantage plan and love it, with rates locked for three years at a time.  Sorry, but we are so happy to have met our agent and will refer everyone I know who is self employed like us to him.

I read this posting with great disgust. I am the District Manager for US Health avisors...the intenal sales arm of US Health Group. There are so many factual errors in this I felt compelled to reply for all to see. We offer a Career opportunity. Once a new agent passes Background checks, State Insurance classes and tests, they are appointed to the Company. Then there is a Two Week Internal Training program and you are assigned to a Sales Leader. Beyond this opening period, there are DAILY ONGOING Trainings forever!!
As you are a Contract, self employed Agent, you are required to work hard. That is 50 hours per week. This person "worked" here a month. They hardly could know the business or our Underwriting guidelines in that amount of time. Their lack of success means to me that they were not suited to be self employed and now want to blame anyone who will listen. I do know we provide health benefit plans with more coverage, with three year rate guarantees and and savings from the competition. We were honored with a Stevie Award in Feb 2012 for this performance along with huge acceptance from our ever growing Nationwide customer base. The proof is in the pudding...not disgruntled so-called agents who could not work hard enough to forge a profitable career. The NC offices were honored as the Top Division in our National system. If there was an issue of any kind, the Dept of Insurance would end that immediately. It is a shame that a person would post something this egregious and I intend to identify/prosecute this person for these really disappointing comments.

I was visited by Mr. Loren Burch, and my experience was very good.  He was very knowledgeable about the company and was able to share comparisons with other companies and shows facts using his laptop he brought.  He was very informative, intelligent and we are very pleased with the insurance that we have.

USHealth Group and Freedom Life Insurance company are very reputible companies. Go to any state's insurance website and look for complaints against Freedom Life. Nationwide there are virtually none. A lot of the people here seem very confused about what companies they are talking about. Sure, some of you may have been contacted by some shady outfit but it was NOT USHealth Group or Freedom Life of Fort Worth, Tx.
