Avoid this company no matter how cheap the price

Hello,
For the protection of other consumers I would like to comment about PENYAK ROOFING in SOUTH PLAINFIELD NEW JERSEY. This contractor did our roof and it was a nightmare. At first I was very pleased at the very low price I was quoted....almost half the price of other contractors. but I learned there was a reason for this.
After the job was completed the roof leaked very badly and we had very bad damage done to the house interior. I called them and they did NOT come back . The cheap price meant nothing because I had to pay another contractor twice the amount to get the job fixed.
I also learned from the building inspector that the roofing was not installed correctly and he had never seen a roof done in such an amateurish way. The men that did the roof were "picked up" that day from a street corner in Plainfield. JOE PENYAK picks up these unskilled immigrants on a daily basis because they are unskilled and work for very low wages.
BUYER BEWARE. Avoid this company no matter how cheap the price.

That said, Joe has done work for me in the past as a roofing subcontractor. I am a builder. I would rate his work average to slightly below average. It's no secret that his men are day laborers that are picked up daily on West Front Street in Plainfield. If you drive by there at 7:00am you will see hundreds of people waiting for work. Joe does have the cheapest prices but you get what you pay for.
My issues with his work are concerns with liability and attention to detail. I don't want anyone of these day laborers to fall off the roof and get hurt because of their inexperience...and while some of them do a good job, I'd rather pay a professional experienced roofer a little more and be assured a quality job. Especially with roofing, the devil is in the details.
And for all of you people saying negative comments
About penyaks workers. There human just like us,
You have no right to judge them as im pretty sure your
Ancesters were immigrants that immigrated to this country as well.
Told them to help themselves to water in the refrigerator but they asked anyway.
Thanks to Penyak roofing.
I believe Joe, the owner, came by to give an estimate. It was a very reasonable estimate. I called and left message that I wanted to get the work done. "You called guy" called back the next morning and asked me again, "You called?" I told him I wanted to get the job done. He asked me to sign the estimate and fax it back to them. I complied. I did not hear back from them. So, I sent the fax again the following week. No reply! I called and left a message stating that I faxed the acceptance. "You called" guy again returned my call the next morning (I don't need to tell you that he asked me again, "You called?") He asked me for my address (which was already on the faxed acceptance form.) I gave it to him. He told me they would be there the following week. No one showed up. No one called. I gave them seven working days and finally sent them a fax that I was withdrawing my acceptance.
I am not disputing that many people might have had good experience with them. However, the fact is, if a company is so disconnected from its customers before they even got your money, I can only imagine the service afterwards. This is a typical modus operandi for an amateur mom and pop handyman company. As long as they get plenty of customers to pay bills for next few months, they don't care. Fortunately for them, hurricane Sandy has created that situation. These are the times to really know your contractors' professionalism.
By the way, Joe should know that putting even something as innocent as an estimate, in someone's mailbox is illegal (google it) and the civil fine is up to $10,000 for businesses.
BBB has them A+.
That doesn't support the complaints here.
Complain on a website, but not to the BBB?
Doesn't make sense to me.
