Received identical email too.  Scared me, but did not reply to the @outlook email address nor did I send any money.  It’s appalling how many people have received the demand email from Jefferson Associates & Law Firm with identical details in each email.  There must be a way to stop whoever is running this scam.  They are the criminals.

This outfit called me and was rude and brusque and stated if I did not set up payments right away, they would be garnishing my wages. They had my social security number and even called my employer to supposedly initiate wage garnishment several days after they hung up on me for questioning them for the origin of the debt and an explanation and breakdown of the debt balance. I believe they got my personal information form a breach in Chase Bank data. I hope to have the police on the line for my next call to them.

I got the same calls they called my wife's personal number than my brother in laws business number threatening calls and such had the last 4 of my social security and knew where my wife worked. Threaten to show up at he place of work etc... But this is all scare tactics to get you to pay money over the phone. This is OBVIOUSLY a scam. So once I went online did my research to verify it was a scam. Found their phone number. Now I'm rounding up everyone I know to harass them and call them back every day 50 times for the rest of the year. The [***] with the wrong people today. I'm personally close to a hand full of local police told them about it and I'm letting the dogs out. They called the wrong number.

Received two voicemails from Jennifer (last name inaudible) @ Jefferson & Associates. I think it was two different women though. They say they want to “bring legal documents” to your house. Anyone who has worked in law knows the correct term is SERVE, and you wouldn’t give someone a heads up that you are suing them. You would just do it. They did have the last four digits of my social security number. I have been the victim of multiple data breaches and know from my identity monitoring company that my info was found for sale on the dark web. I suspect that’s where these scammers got it.

Yep, new day, new scam.  One of the posters above asked what can be done.  NOTHING.  Unless a state AG's office takes aim at whoever these are this second, NOTHING WILL EVER (in this country of ours) be done.  NOTHING.  Until our data is ours nothing.

You know with it being so close to Christmas, I am already stressed out. I got an email from these people and several messages. Even if I had the money, or any proof that I took out this loan, I would want better documentation from them. What if someone pays and then the real debt collector comes along and well this is just crap. They give one name in the voice message, and a different name when they answer if you call them back. Then this email has a different mans name a Mark Johnson. I swear these people need to be put in jail a couple of days for disturbing the peace.
