I received a fraudulent charge to my account for $309.99. I had never heard of this company or the website. I attempted to contact them to refute the charges and was placed on indefinite hold. I held for over 20 minutes before just hanging up and calling my bank. I have no idea how they got my information but it was certainly not from me.

They sell computer stuff online.  They've been around for a while. Sounds like someone got hold of your card number and tried to use it to buy some.

In cases of fraudulent charges, you have no obligation to get a refund through the merchant, and failing to or delaying a dispute through your bank (under FCBA or FRB Reg. E) actually exposes you to risk of loss should you be unable to get the merchant to reverse the charges.

File a fraud dispute through your bank, and block the card number or close down the account to prevent further fraud.  Follow up with a fraud affidavit sent to your bank's fraud department.

I just had $1064 charge against my credit card by Newegg for a computer. I never heard of this company and was never on their site. This company appears to have many such complaints. I never ordered this item. I am togoing report them. I believe Newegg is responsible .

Today I am another victim of Newegg for 2K worth of unauthorized purchases in a 5-day period added to my CC without my knowledge or permission. Between Dec. 23 and Dec 28th 2015, Twelve, yes 12 newegg purchases were added fraudulently to my Wells Fargo CC, in a 5-day Holiday period, for an amount of 2 Thousand Dollars...what about this is not fraud when I said these are not purchases that were made by me or even with my knowledge???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I have never shopped with this company and I have $164.99 charge 4 times in one day. That's almost $700 they got me for! They said we don't have any info on file with mine or my husband's name! Now I have to fight with bank and wait to get my funds if I didn't report it to late!

We're in the same position as many others here. We had a $600+ charge  few days ago, and a $999.00 charge go through yesterday. We've already disputed the charges with the bank, and closed the card but hopefully NewEgg will just reverse the charges on our behalf. Seems this is a growing trend judging by the comments here.

Over $1400 in charges in 2 days.  Don't know how they got the card number.  I rarely use the card, but recently used it to purchase airline tickets through travelocity - common link for any others out there?  The other possibility is Vudu - I ocassionally rent movies using the card number.

Reported fraud to bank card company, dont expect to pay.

I had almost 2K charged to my account last week and they answered quickly and fixed it ASAP. However reputable they may be I think they should be doing more to try and prevent these transactions. I think it would be pretty obvious when 5 items for  ~$200 each being shipped overseas, and paid by some guy in the states should be verified before shipping. Newegg must believe that most of these transactions go unnoticed so it is a profit center for them. I won't be shopping from there site ever.

I was charged $69 for some kind of X-box membership thing I never heard of and they TRIED to take the money from my PayPal account. I was lucky enough to catch the charge fast and PayPal blocked the payment. I also called Newegg (a website I have never heard of or even visited) and was on hold for over 30 minutes but finally got a rep and told him I did not order it and told him to cancel the order. After a little telephone toughness talk, he said he would 'try'. I suggested he should try real hard because it had been reported as fraud. Seems he took care of it. I don't understand how they got my info.

They hit my wife's debit card yesterday for 229 and change. Now we have to have paperwork notarized to get the charges reversed and get our money back. This company needs put out of business. It seems that most of their sales are through fraudulent charges. They get paid regardless if the fraudulent charges are caught before they are actually posted or not. This is straight criminal.

They just hit me for 129.99 . I NEVER heard of them before, when I called about it , the guy on the phone started fishing for more info , info that IF I had ordered they WOULD HAVE , I quickly shut him down.

I'm not sure where they are getting the info but it seems they have NO PROBLEM making obviously fraudulent charges on peoples cards.

Never shopped in this site and had a charge for $639.98 shipped to someone named Ebony Lewers in Rockford, IL. I know no one by that name and I've never heard of that city before now. Contacted the company and they claim that they verified name, address, etc when the order was placed but that is impossible since the name and address associated with the purchase are not associated to me or my CC account. I see a trend and it appears that newegg may be complacent with ongoing CC fraud.

How did you get the name of the person? They wouldn't give that to me.

Newegg hit my Wife's Amex for $400+. Never used them before. Obvious fraud. Amex notified. Cards cancelled. Disappointed Amex Fraud Dept didn't flag this immediately.  Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this is fraudulent activity.

Seems to be a recurring theme.  Bottom line is I found out that while most sites require the card holder name and the billing/shipping name entered on the site to match the name associated with the card during the card authorization, it appears that newegg.com somehow gets around that.  How else could someone use my card to buy something under a different name?  They told me it was used under a different name, but wouldn't tell me the name that was used.  Nice to know the criminals are protected. /sarcasm

I want to jump in here and say that newegg is as much the target of fraud as you folks are.  Newegg ships very quickly and loses every single cent of the value of the fraudulent order if the items are not returned.  Your banks will refund your money even if your merchant does not.  Simply put, Someone stole your credit card information, and they used it to place an order through Newegg. Call your bank, report the fraud, Cancel your cards and so on.  Furthermore,  If they shipped the items to your Home, then they are probably SOMEONE YOU KNOW, and they intend to go to your house while you are away in order to collect the items before you get there.  Call the cops and have them stake out your house watching for someone to come retrieve the package.   - or go full vigilante mode if thats your thing... - But the best thing you could do is to post every OTHER place you have used the compromised card so the rest of us can compare ours to it, and maybe find a common link.  (like Bob did in 2012.)

You'd think they'd show a little interest in catching the people involved then. Just because you got a good deal on the site once doesn't make this a trustworthy company. And for those of us who AREN'T having things shipped directly to our home, NewEgg sure could do us a favor and let us know the shipping address so we can let the cops know--per your suggestion. But they don't give a SHRED of information, because they're sworn to protect whoever used the card--even if it isn't you.

Yes, I am in the same victim pool now. My bank Wells Fargo said no fraud occurred. In a 5-day period, Dec 23-28 2015, 12 purchase transactions were charged onto my CC for an amount of 2K. None of the purchases are mine and none of the purchases were authorized by me. None of these purchases were delivered to me but I did get the Billing Statement from Wells Fargo mid. January 2016. What about this situation is NOT FRAUD! This is innovative fraud as now the banks and Newegg protect the criminals and further victimize the innocent CC holder who was never aware of the illegal purchase transactions until the bank statement arrives!
