WOT is a serious ripoff and SCAM. They don't display their phone number, don't answer problems with their rating system and are unresponsive. They are ruining legitimate businesses and something should be done about them. They rate my website a Negative when it should be Question Mark because there are not enough ratings to determine. Yet, they argue with me for two months, don't fix anything and ban me from even logging into my account to track my ratings! All this and I paid them? I am supposed to be the customer? Maybe their location (Finland) protects them from US laws? I don't know how they
get away with such a large scam. Please be warned, they are a SCAM!
This is how the SCAM WORKS:
What happens is someone can login to the WOT account, and rate a site as phishy or unsecure for absolutely no reason at all. When this happens, anytime a customer goes to your website, a large popup will occur stating this is an unsafe site, and you should not proceed. This is ridiculous since WOT does not have any means of checking to see if this information is infact accurate.
They just go off of that single rating input by a random person. Now, the only way to have this popup removed is to either buy their "Web of Trust Seal" which costs $451/year, or have tons of people sign up for an account in their system, which in turn will bring the company more revenue as well.
Here is there 'game', you complain, then the stop answering your emails, then you complain on their forum and they 'block your' name and password so your account is virtually locked. They don't respond to any questions, there is NO SUPPORT and the support there is doesn't assist but gives you wrong answers and the run-around. So like God, they block you off your account so you cannot even answer malicious statements left by other WOT users that are inaccurate. I hope this company is closed down and will line up to sign a lawsuit against them...

I have never hated a company as badly as I hate this company. Non-Responsive, Ludicrous Ratings, Playing with people's livelihood and They don't even respond to a problem When They Are Wrong! I truly hate this company.

facebook groups, youtube video (dammit i want to see some anti-wot videos) etc etc et c...
However, non of You actually deliver proof of any kind. So not saying You're wrong, You do seem to do better than WOT.
For instance, if you have a religious site spreading the word of Christianity, You'll get a lot off ratings from muslims and ateists like me, even I don't rate such sites myself. So do political sites and so on. That's maybe annoying all right but such accusations that WOT is scam demands proof to be taken seriously.
In other word, if You can't deliver proof those complains aren't to considered to be trustworthy.
Come on now, deliver hardcore proof.

Don't take things so personal on the internet. You mean nothing. You're not even human to most other users. The users are who flag you. Maybe you should address the actual cause of the problem and not blame a legitimate company.
The problem is... you.
Points of interest:
It's not like it's stopping any users from getting to the site.
And it's not like a whole bunch of people even use WOT.
They're also doing something that is completely legal in Finland.

WOT is crap. You can't configure it easily from the gui.I had a spend 5 extra minutes rewriting the files :[
The worst thing anyone can do is to get people to go to their site and sign up! Please do not feed this scamming monster! The next thing NOT to do is change anything with your site. AND please NEVER give them ANY money!
Now, what you should do: Get the word out as much as humanly possible about them. Everyone tell everyone about them. Talk about what a scam they are on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, EMail, and make blogs. Just get the information everywhere. Kill their rep, so to speak. Do not let them scare you into submission. Explain to people on how to click the ignore button until their pop ups can be done away with. Also speak with your web provider. If you use GoDaddy (for example), call them and explain that you need help. You pay them money for the space, and I do not think they will be very happy at losing business or having their customers blackmailed. (Yes, blackmail is exactly what they are doing, and it is illegal in the US).
Another important thing, do not complain to mywot. They want you to be upset and care so they can steal your money, and possibly put keylogger onto their users who sign up. I hope everyone understands what Zombies are. If not look it up, and keep in mind that they could be using your computer as a zombie if you sign up. It also seems that their "raters" are mainly bots. They may have some real people (personality disordered psychopaths that are probably being paid), but please not be upset about their fake opinions of your site. Remember they are nothing but BS!
What they are doing is bullying and terrorizing you. Report them to the FTC (?) and I would call a lawyer to see about extortion.

unless they breach Finnish law. It is not as simple as asking a friend
to vote and expecting an increase in your rating. A user has to become
trusted within our system for the rating to carry more weight. You can
